this was a really good review, brushed over all the useless info and just simply compared the audio, which is what people want when they watch a comparison themed video. u got a new subscriber :)

Thank you for doing this video. I am deciding on whether to purchase a shotgun or a LDC. I think I will go with a shotgun mic as my first expensive mic.

"Large Diaphragm Condenser (Rode) vs Shotgun Mic (Azden)" the rode sounds very good ! i am really impressed with its nice warm sound. will you keep it ?

The rode does sound much better than the Azden SGM-1X! But I probably will not keep the Rode, because I have found an alternative large diaphragm that I like better. To me the alternative (an Audio Technica) is more practical compared to this Rode NT1-A. Will upload videos of it soon! :) The SGM-1X is known for sounding fairly thin, the Rode NTG-3 would be a better shotgun mic that has a very very nice full sound. However the NTG-3 is out of my budget for now...but definitely in my consideration when I need to upgrade my shotgun mic! :)
