Field goldens (like Joy) are super high energy and they stay really puppyish until they are 5 years old. It's great that an outlet was found for Joy's super high energy.

Cindy and Joy did great! The best Golden Retriever Ive seen do agility. My little Beagle Pointer Mix loves agility!

Great job but I consider this a medium dog. Large dog would be 80-110 lbs IMHO xtra large anything over that.

Is it a US agility thing or a US Border Collie thing that they're considered "small"? In Finland Border Collies are mostly large, the rest are medium.

Wow! I have two hunting dogs of which one is a field trial Golden Retriever Ginny who I work as well but as a retriever, she's also incredibly fast and looks just like this dog. So fun to see how versatile they are!

Try using treats on a high level - that is give lots, one for each step in the training process. Don't wait till he does two things, but reward after each and every action.

Tried your advice. But might have overdone it. My dog now does not fit through the ring anymore and has diabetes. So what's next?

Dr. S give very small treats, little tiny dried sweet potatoes. Our mini Aussie loves them! After awhile wean the dog off the treats. Just the reward of “good dog!!!” Should be fine.

Great dog, but in Italy they would have been disqualified. The collar must be removed because it is dangerous.

Golden retrievers are dangerous dogs. They can snap on you in a heartbeat. Pitbulls are known to be the opposite

@@kollector2125 golden retrievers are the best dog for families so I don’t think they are like that! I’ve owned one before and they are the sweetest loving dogs and would never do anything like that. They are not protective dogs so would never bite.

I have a friend who breeds Harlequin Great Danes. They have learned over for Generations now, when dad says it's time to show off! They sit down they do what they're told their eyes perk their ears come up and they're ready to go to work! She obviously was the same way it's time to show off

No, I can see why you would think that because of the dark golden colour and the size but this is more of a working type (ones you would find in the shooting field) golden retriever than the typical show type ones you will see more often as pets. This golden is also a nice athletic weight. You can tell it is a golden retriever due to the confirmation & mainly by looking at the head. Some people have retriever crosses from rescues and are automatically told that they have a toller, when it's more than likely that they just have a retriever or Australian shepherd cross breed. I hope this helps

Joy is fast and well trained, but one must wonder. Cindy has a knee brace, she has had problems... One wonders if she switched to dog training as a form of physical therapy and then discovered a previously unknown talent within herself.
