Bri, if your family loves croissants from Costco, go to the bakery and ask them for a whole case to purchase of 270 frozen croissants… that’s how I purchased them that way we can just make them as we want them so we don’t have to rush through an enormous amount of croissants. Make them at home yourself!♥️

I buy 2 packages of 12, and wrap them individually in plastic wrap and put them back in plastic container. I then put those in the freezer and take out a few at a time and they are very fresh.

How much does a case of 270 cost? Are they cheaper than getting them baked and packaged there?

Originally, Costco did have a contract with Apeel. Apparently now, though, they do NOT sell produce with that coating. So there's that! Thanks for sharing. 😊

❤ For a family your size, and the storage you have in the house, Costco savings can be ideal. But helps to be organized and know what is available with a plan. Big time commitment but can also be big savings. Batteries, toilet paper, lightbulbs, you need to hit some of the other rows beside food for savings.light bulbs, Invite a girlfriend to make it a day trip. So have a catch up with a friend on the drive and while shopping. Really walk around entire store to see what they have for future. Save $$ and invest in some time for yourself. ❤

During the winter i shop a lot at costco, last year when my husband didnt live with us i ordered through costco and had it picked up by that shop/delivery program, it was such a blessing. I think if something helps support during difficult times then i count it as a blessing ❤️ glad you are taking such gentle care of yourself and your family!!

I found the more snacks we have the faster the grandkids go thru them if allowed to free-range in the kitchen. If I control what and when they eat the snacks will last longer. Thanks for sharing. I bless you.

we buy staples there like heavy cream, butter, cream cheese, eggs, bacon, sandwich meat, coffee pods, bone broth, dog treats, and meat. Produce is just packaged in too large a quantity. But we saved tons on things like clothes, a mattress, vehicle tires, gasoline for the car, even a new HVAC unit for our house. Snacks, we pick out one or two each time we go but they last forever because we only have two people in the nest now. We used to go to Sam's but rarely purchased anything. Once a Costco opened, we are converts. We have not been disappointed with any Kirkland brand product in our experiences.

I am very lucky to have a Costco store only 20-30 min drive from us, so I get all my petrol from them for starters. I like to buy our meat in bulk from there, their fresh produce is good but only if you can get through it in time. I also get the freeze dried fruit, maple syrup, fats/oils, bakers flour, rice, toilet paper, wet wipes, detergents, nuts, frozen fruits. There’s always other random things but those are the staple things I get specifically from Costco.

We love buying the clothing. It’s very well priced. Paper products are great. We will buy a whole case of chicken breast, you go to the butcher counter and ask for it. They price it a little cheaper by the case and we will just split it up and freeze it at home. Love the snacks, produce is hit and miss. Around Christmas time we buy wrapping paper and gifts from there. Diapers and wipes are a must from Costco if you’re in that season, supplements and medication are a great price too

We go to Costco often. We buy a lot of the same stuff you bought even though there are only two of us, because it lasts so long, plus when some of the grandkids come over, I have something to offer them. I get all my paper supplies, trash bags ziplock bags, vitamins, Kingston brand Tylenol, some fruit and veggies but mostly stuff we can freeze. I don’t buy my meat there because I think Butcher Box is cheaper. We also get our gas there but it’s only two miles away. We also like to do date night there. A hotdog and drink is only $1.50. Where else can you go and only spend $3.00 for dinner. I’ve also purchased appliances there as well! - Sue in HOT AZ

I have really been enjoying Costco! I have had a membership for about 1 year and with the executive I pretty much earn enough to cover my membership with how much I spend there. I'm blessed to only be 20 min away so it works well for most of my groceries.

Only 2 of us, in our 70's. Have bought a lot of clothing from Costco. I am a big sales buyer so always peruse the monthly flyer. Only buy laundry detergent and dishwasher detergent, toilet paper when discounted. Rotisserie chicken when I feel like pulling from bone and freeze smaller portions to pull out for meals. Salmon patties, kombucha, certain snack crackers. Olive oil, coffee. Vitamins, tylenol. Bagels, cut and put wax paper between halves and freeze. Etc, etc....

Anything Kirkland brand is usually great. We buy our dog food and treats there. I find with Costco that it is not only the quality of the products, but that you can get stuff there that you can’t find anywhere else. I live in Canada so I don’t have Sam’s club to compare to, but even if I did, I would probably choose Costco

I am a bulk buyer and try to in essence buy a month of staples in advance. For example I only buy whatever meat is on sale in a particular week, I buy a month's worth and this way I always have a variety in my freezer but am getting it at the best possible price. Costco didn't work for me, mainly because of its distance from me, and the size of my family.

I monthly shop and Costco is a must for me. Costco has monthly sales adds and I shop those for extra items. For instance right now they have paper towels which are 5.50 off so I will get a couple. I also have the Gold Star Membership. Which is $120 a year vs $60 a year BUT I get 2% back on all my purchases. You get a check at the end of your membership year and I just use that to pay for my next years membership and any extra I use for meat. Its saves me alot in the long run as a family of 6.

Some of my favorites at Costco to get are All-Purpose Organic Flour, Organic Sugar, and Kirkland Grass-Fed Butter which are staples for us. Organic Maple Syrup, Organic Ground Beef and nuts are also frequent purchases. I've also found some good clothing deals there as well as bulbs for the garden in the fall. We are about 30 minutes from a Costco. And, I always fill up for gas. I live in IL so traveling to MO to go to Costco I save almost a dollar per gallon.

on the Costco Haul remember that you are feeding a small army. So I would not worry about the produce going bad, I am sure your small army could devour all that produce in the next 72 hours. Also you could not only put together a vegetable platter but it looks like you could also put together a fruit platter with all the fruit you got and I bet the small army would love that as well!!!!

I usually buy a rotisserie chicken for $4.99. It’s not the most delicious chicken but I often make a batch of chicken salad or soup. Use the meat for enchiladas or other tasty meals. I guess the very mild seasoning is a plus as it goes with whatever I need it to. Also reasonable if you need Rx or eyewear.

Sams Club is cheaper for membership cost and products. Also less crowded. Plus you can scan the items with your app as you place them in your cart and go straight to the exit door. It’s also less crowded. I bought a Costco membership for 1 year along with my Sam’s Club. Sam’s Club won. I’ve been a Sam’s member for years and I’ve found it to be better, cheaper and all around better than Costco. Plus, I can order online and have it shipped to the house for FREE. Love it for big bulky items like Toilet paper and paper towels that take up so much room in my car.

We live in the same general area of Western NC as you. We make the trip to Costco about 4 times a year. I really enjoy stocking up on meat, specifically on pork chops, chicken thighs and chuck roast. We are empty nesters, so I get the 10-12 pound chuck and cut it into 3 pieces and vacuum seal. Same with the chops. Divide, season and seal. Then into the freezer. We get almost all paper products and cleaning supplies, batteries, coffee. I use their honey and avocado oil along with some seasonal items like sugar during canning season or nuts and chocolate chips for baking at the holidays.

The organic all-purpose flour at Costco is cheaper than Azure. Costco is at $0.70/lb (20 lbs) and Azure is at $1.07/lb (55 lbs). Big difference! For coffee, you can get the organic Kirkland brand of whole bean (2 lbs) for $13.99. It's such great coffee. We're a large family and we love Costco. We love Azure too, so we're always comparing prices to get the best deal.

Costco is great, but like you, it is far from me. We make a trip only once or twice a year, but thankfully the costco here delivers non perishables. I have 4 kids so I definitely stock up on school snacks. Also, batteries, canned goods, butter and frozen veggies. My husband also loves the kirkland beef jerky. Every once in a while you can find good deals on high quality clothing and shoes. If you don't grow your own, chicken is also a good one to stock up on at costco. Great haul! I'm impressed that was only $500.

Batteries! Socks, white t-shirts/tank tops, swimsuits, sweatpants, underthings. Basically everything you got, (except I don't eat peanuts and spend the extra for shelled pistachios), Meat for sure, Kirkland products give their best quality to Costco. Coffee, baking basics, spices and herbs I use regularly and do not grow, such as, tarragon, black pepper, blends. Black tea bags for sweet sun tea. Cheese to freeze. Sheet cakes for special occasions. Every now and then I found an interesting book. What you paid is very reasonable for what you bought.

I freeze the croissants. I just put them in a large zip lock bag. They defrost quickly as well.

Bri, I purchase several packages of Costco croissants every time I go and freeze them. I’ve never had a problem with freezing them. Since I’m an hour away from a Costco, it helps me a lot. 😊

Hey Bri! My kids love mangoes too - we get the frozen organic mangoes at Costco and freeze dry them. I would love to hear what you and your kids think of that treat - we love them!! (I have found the frozen organic fruit at Costco to be cheaper than azure in my area - as well as organic sugar and flour.)

I freeze the croissants all the time. At first I individually froze then bagged them, then I just tried bagging them in gallon bags and found it works great. No problem taking just a couple out.

They also have organic cotton pjs for kids for CHEAP but they are great quality, I also love the diapers when they go on sale I stock up! My husband buys motor oil because the price is great…and they have the best organic sauerkraut if you don’t have time to make your own

We freeze the costco croissants in small batches if we can't get through them all. I buy anything we can freeze like veggies and meat. I get snacks and coffee pods. I like their staples like organic milk, eggs, cheese, butter, pasta, sauce organic sugar, pink salt and we get jasmine rice there. Paper products, dog food, freeze dried dog treats. The snacks are a life saver when we have activities during the week that I can just keep in my car and pull out as needed (saves us from the drive through). We live in the city super close to Costco and do all my main shopping there and only get small quantity items or one off things from the grocery store if I need them via online and pickup (I spend less that way). We have a small family, but I find I can go twice a month if both trips are stock up trips and don't really need to go to the grocery store that often. Our stock ups are smaller than yours because of family size, but for foods that keep in the fridge and freezer and non-food consumables, it works best for us. Way cheaper than the grocery stores in our area... Azure is great, but when I live less than a mile from Costco and our Azure drops are several miles, the gas and time consumption offset the savings IMO.

I think the best deal at Costco is the BBQd chicken, I buy 3. We eat 1-1/2 for supper, I then take all the meat off the bones and make a weeks worth of chicken salad sandwich meat for hubs and kids. Bones go in the soup pot for broth. All for 21.00. CDN

I switched to Sam's this year. I don't go through the whole store. I just have a regular list of things I use that are cheaper than at the grocery store. Mostly pantry and health supplements.

I grew up with 4 siblings and 2 parents in the 1950s. Snack food as we know it today was nonexistent and there were no fast-food restaurants. We were expected to eat enough at mealtime to see us through to the next meal. We were also expected to eat everything on our plate or there would be no dessert. Desserts were often Jello or a few cookies, sometimes ice cream. Sodas were a special treat for holidays or birthdays. Snacks were fruits or slices of cheese. We drove 8 hours one way to our summer vacation spot and mom packed sandwiches and other picnic foods. You didn't say how long it takes to get to the farm but, surely your kids won't die of hunger getting there. And why is there no food at the farm? Isn't Arthur living there?

It’s just my husband and I so we stick to paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, chicken breast (individually frozen one breast feeds us both for dinner) and occasionally canned goods. When I was taking care of my parents, the deal on depends was a true blessing!

Interesting! I would say the best savings is the fruit there! And the quality. U cant get produce very easily in MN that isnt almost rotten… and costco and aldi is by far the best quality in our area. Bacon, butter, organic milk and grassfed burgers are also a massive savings there

for us, produce isn’t worth it at Costco more than any other local grocer, but i do get toilet paper, paper towels, bulk goods, and some snacks. we’ve cut back on snack bc it does feel like a wallet drain and i try to stay ingredient focused when going to bulk stores. I have bought tupperware and lightbulbs on “the other side” and it was way worth it!!

I stock up on eggs. Butter. Cheeses pork. You can get a whole pork loin and cut it into pork chops or smaller roasts. It is crazy cheap.

My family has spread their wings now but when buying for family it was the baking staples mostly. I have 4 children, grew a garden to last the year so lots of canning and freezing and we had our own beef and eggs. So flour, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, baking powder and soda, salt, raisins, chocolate chips, craisins, coconut, whole nuts. Ketchup, almond flour, coconut sugar, deoderant, shampoo, fisherman friends, toothpaste., I should say that l am in Canada

My favorite frozen item is the bags of lightly breaded chicken nuggets that taste just like Chic fil a. I love them as a protein on a salad when I want a very hearty salad for dinner. Waaaaay cheaper than Chic fil a, convenient and delicious. Not organic, but a nice treat.

Sam's Club is closer to us, but we ended up letting our membership expire this past year as we've switched to Azure more and more. I look back and cringe at our past shopping history at SC - so much junk food. I get convenience (my family is large also), but man, the price of our health isn't worth it anymore... all of the glyphosate in foods, fake vitamins... my body is really paying the price of eating that way for 45+ years and the more I learn about processed foods, the less I want them. We also found we bought "spur of the moment" things that we typically wouldn't buy otherwise - so we really spent more than necessary many times.

I don't know about Costco but you could check, Sam's club ships items free with the premium membership. I use the shipping often. They also do delivery which I have not used. Would be worth checking in to for non perishable items.

My husband made an excel spreadsheet for me to do price comparison between the different stores. The nearest Costco is over 150 miles from me but a Sams is only 30 miles and there is an Azure drop once a month. I shop th local Farmers Market, Wal-Mart and the other local grocery store. Wish we had an Aldi but the one nearest is 70 miles away.

I shop at BJs, which I believe is a little less than Costco. I purchase staple items, cheese sticks and other cheeses (mozerella, parmesan) bags of chips, dog food and treats, snacks, fruit, bagels, tortillas, etc. I have done the cost comparison with my local grocery and the price are better. I also try to go when I have coupons for products that I buy, which makes the cost even less.

We buy paper goods like paper towels, tp, tissues, kitchen sponges, zip lock bags,my husband likes the unscented dove soap, frozen fruit and vegetables, broth, avacodo oil, dog treats, I have gotten some of their clothes work pants for my husband, underwear etc. They had really good deals on fruit trees earlier in the season.. their spices for baking, their glyphosate free sprouted oatmeal and other baking supplies, the bags organic pretzels, they often have extra discounts on top of the good deals, so you'll want to watch for the coupons. Organic turkey lunch meat. The coconut waters. We buy a lot there. It is usually the cheapest price compared to azure in my observations. I do get my bulk grains, honey and Carob chips from azure. Although costco has better prices on their bulk organic rice usually. I will say that I have been to Costco in TN, AR, MO, and PA they've all been a little different. I was in Arkansas visiting family on one trip and scored the best deal on organic cotton towels they were really pretty and good quality towels, they didn't have them at the Costco that I was shopping. They will have random things like that then you won't see them for awhile or ever again.
