Having meal kits delivered to the vacation rental is my FAVORITE vacation hack. It's usually a bit cheaper than buying groceries in those small town grocery stores, too, and you don't wind up with a ton of excess ingredients that you either leave behind or throw away when you leave. Win win.
@@justafryguy Absolutely. Most companies offer boxes for 2 or 4 people, some for up to 6 people, and if necessary you can always order more than one box with the same meals in them or choose 2 of the same meal in one box if a company allows you to select your meals individually. Also, if you've never ordered from a particular company, don't pay full price. They *all* have really steep discount codes for new customers. They give *everyone* who orders a discount code to pass along to a friend so scour youtube channels like Christine's, blogs, social media, retail-me-not, etc. before you order.
When I was 18, we went on a driving vacation from Arizona to Washington State. There were 8 people in the van and six of them were children, so finding a good place to stop for the night might have been a challenge, were it not for the Holiday Inn. They had a policy at the time that all children got to stay free. We got to stay in a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the pool for the cost of a single room elsewhere. It was wonderful!
A few years ago, our family visited the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, and Monument Valley all in one epic trip. Honestly, Bryce might have been my favorite because the scenery was other worldly and it wasn't crowded like Zion and Grand Canyon. Enjoyed seeing your family fun!
Ordering meal-kits for a condo/air bnb vaca is brilliant!!!! I always spend 2-3 hrs grocery shopping after we get to our destination (and thats with packing a ton of food as well), putting it all away, etc. Totally doing this next time, thanks!
Lol! Listening to Christine on the bike trails! Reminds me of that little 4 year old whose parents mixed him up so they could hear him on the ice rink. He wee’d and whoa’ed and talked about McDonald’s, and just gibbered. Hysterical!
OH NO to the Christmas deco nope not happening!!! Great Airbnb for your size family with a ton of room for more. And those views are beyond amazing, absolutely jaw dropping! Thanks for sharing some of the highlights of your family vacation.
What a fun vacation! Nothing like family time together!!❤ I am always inspired by your family, and the dedication to spend quality time together. You prove over and over again it's the EXPERIENCES that are worth investing in. You also show how truly Frugal it can be to take advantage of the wonderful National Parks! I loved your commentary as you navigated that trail...and thought it probably would be calm to my screams😲😯😫🤣. Your family is a blessing I know to you, and my relationship with my son is the same. Thank you for sharing!💗
I love the way you thriftily plan these wonderful memories with your family and although you're putting a lot of money out up front, it is a pittance compared to what you would pay for six people in restaurants for even very simple breakfasts!
Love the vacation choice and activities. As a kid, we’d climb mountains and explore every little thing we could as a family. I have to say, your thought of that bike trail was so much cleaner sounding than if it was me 🤣. I was freaking out for you. It looked like you were flying down that train 😬😳
For those who never really travelled on trips like these with their family they will never understand budget meals and taking your own food on the trip. It's quite expensive. Love your videos
I am not even done with the video and I am freaking out watching Christine on the bike trail. 😱 Yikes, that is scary! Wowza, glad you had a safe & exciting family vacation, Christine. Thanks for sharing the frugal, fun & frightening (lol) journey with us.
I love watching you adventure with your kids! I have 4 (1 girl and 3 boys lol) our 3rd just started school and im starting to feel sad about no more babies, but this makes me excited about them growing up and getting to do fun things with them. We just started camping last year and are loving it, even with a 2 year old
Just to be clear, Aussie Bites are not Australian. The closest thing I can think of are our Anzac Biscuits, but there really quite different. Also, I'm 63 and have never had a dishwasher. Having said that, I can't imagine the mountain of dishes to be hand washed if every bed/bunk was occupied. Love the views from the hiking trails.
We did Zion and Bryce in one 2 week trip and we LOVED both. Went from 90 degrees and frying in the sun in Zion to 50's mid day in Bryce. It was awesome
It looked like a lot of fun but I have a problem with fear of heights and no edge rails. Not to mention the bike trail, falling. I will leave it for you you all. I will ride a beach Cruiser bike on flat level ground or walk a path is my way of fun. Not to mention swimming.
I love you and your family so much - thank you for all of your videos, tips, tricks and recipes...but most of all thank you for being an example for families!
Wow! That park looks amazingly beautiful and y’all looked like you had the best time. I really enjoyed watching y’all hiking and biking as a family. Thank you so much for sharing, Christine.
So nice to watch especially because we just came back from our trip to the USA. We went to bryce canyon as well. Did the peekaboo trail and another one there. So so beautiful!! Loved to see you enjoying it too. Love from The Netherlands👋🏻
A wild ride! I was feeling exhilaration while behind my computer screen! Hahahahahaha! Christine..YOU ARE AWESOME for taking me with ya! Wink Wink Nod Nod! Peace!! You have a lovely family!!
The part of our country that you live in is an absolute blessing! I love seeing your vacations! I would love to see a step by step video of how you pick, plan and prepare for your frugal trips/vacations. 😊 Blessing to you all ❤️
My hubby and I did hiking in Bryce, Narrows and West Rim (Zion), Monument Valley, and Grand Canyon with some friends in late June/early July 😎 We were in charge of the food 😄We stayed in a massive cabin in the middle of nowhere with closest hrocery 40 min away 😅
Wow. That place was amazing. The place I booked for an anniversary last year? $1,600 for 8 nights. Didn't have salt, pepper, a spatula, oh yeah, NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER!! I was so mad....
Oh my gosh, that delivery box is going to be a game changer. I never even thought of that. I always get a house during our vacations and cook, so this will make things so much easier. Also regarding the national parks you can buy I believe it's a life time pass for seniors. Also, those with special needs can get a free lifetime pass as well. My son has autism and we got our pass while at the Arch in St. Louis and its good for the whole family to get into national parks with.
Beautiful mountain home. I know you all had a great vacation. Can't go wrong with Costco. Wow I missed the cantaloupe. Need to try the Cesar chicken salad wrap. Looks yummy. Safe travels home.
As a Utah resident I must say. Bryce is and has been our favorite National Park in Utah. We have visited the parks yearly with our kids from the 1970- 2022. Always different depending on month and weather.
I love how your children and husband are having a good time on the hike. Also they are noticing how pretty it is. Also they all get along and enjoy being together it is not the money you spent but the time you spend together.
Bryce Canyon is absolutely beautiful. It's probably in my top 5 National Park for beauty. I'm glad a lot of people don't go and make it a circus like poor Yosemite. My California Heart cries when I see the litter and crowds at Yosemite.
I love when you do Utah trips. It’s our plan to go next year. Not looking forward to the 24 hour drive but I know it will be worth it! Thanks for the video.
