It might help to open any cupboard or closet doors where the water went underneath. The insides need to dry out so they don't mold. Even though you have tile floors, the wood and the sheetrock soak up some of the water and it needs good air circulation to dry. Fans are a good idea too. Been there done that! :/ You know, I just thought about the fact that you live in Florida. I live in Washington state so mold growth might be very different here??? So sorry about your hard week! We had our washer flood our lower level while I was trying to leave the house to get the kids to school last spring. I also didn't realize that the machine kept trying to fill because it recognized it was not at fill line. Oh man it was a mess. We were without a washer for a couple months and luckily were able to use MILs on weekends because my allergies to scented stuff prevented us from using the laundromat (actually had to donate the load we tried at laundromat because my reaction was so strong even after rewashing and airing outside). Then the people who delivered new machines damaged them and we are still fighting for the repair/replacement.🤪 We have had many seasons where it is one thing after another - we are going through one right now. First weekend of isolation, fixed one thing on dishwasher for another to break and cause water to short out all the electricity in that wall. So I have been handwashing for 6 since March 16 with a child with a compromised immune system. The next day I was cleaning up kitchen and the side of the cabinet popped out and caused the shelf in cabinet to crash. So we can't use 1 of 2 cabinets in kitchen. The kids pushed the water handle in bathroom too hard and broke it. Our lawn mower stopped working (I managed to sort of fix it for now). The car wash broke our van seat when we got it detailed as my birthday gift and the dealership hasn't been able to fix it yet. 2nd weekend of isolation, turn water off in the shower - handle broke in my hand.😆 Our fridge is not working correctly. There are things we started that I am afraid to touch since everything seemed to be breaking. 😆😆 We have health/other issues going on. 2020 is quite the year. This too shall pass. Eventually. 2020 has been a train wreck! LOL! But man you have even more going on! I will pray that it all smooths out soon for you! Thankfully you got your laundry done on the weekends... that's a good reason to avoid laundry all week! LOL! But when it rains it pours!
Oh when it rains it pours! Every year when we go on vacation something goes down. One year our water heater went the day before we left, last year we need the whole front end of our big passenger van fixed and the year before that our fridge went. 🤪 also I feel like you Are my Walmart Soul sister, we are also out of milk and fruit, back I go again tomorrow, and I need a huge Costco haul this week too, sometimes I just tell the kids well, I am not going back to the store, but I feel like they at least deserve to have milk.
Oh wow! That's a lot! I think I would avoid vacation! LOL! I hear you I feel the same way. I want the kids to atleast have milk and fruit! LOL! And Amen to the Walmart Soul Sister... I went again yesterday! ;)
ohh my goodness I feel for you!! I had a similar thing happen a few years ago! The worst part for us was that we had carpet in our hallway.. So we ended up having to replace our flooring not long after that! I hope you are having a better couple of weeks!!
Have you done any meal prep videos? Or make ahead meals to make it easier on you during the week? When I was in my last few weeks I made up bunch of meals . I made up smoothie bags too. And deserts. It really help.
I did put it in the bathtub with vinegar and laundry detergent. But I didn't put the pad in. Our pad has boards in it that I can take off and wash the cover, so I machine washed that part. But the part that I soaked in the tub came out pretty clean!
