Nice idea. I put a number 3 Philips screw driver pointing up in my vice, drop the spool on top, put a free weight on top. Adjust tension by changing weight.

@bswimber73bw one way made it tighten more, the other made it loosen more. But it works well overall. There is not such thing as putting braid on too tight. haha. Thank you for watching!
