Yes, and one has to consider that this money doesn't vanish into nothing (like it does with ammunition and bank bailouts). It flows to industry (research, manufacturing, infrastructure), education, gives scientific-minded citizens career prospects. CERN and ITER are also collaborating, so that prior investments of one side benefit the other.

any updates on Kepler coming? no?
