Large homeless camp in Longview is now a tiny home village 

There would be housing if we had fewer slum lords buying up blocks of homes.

Help her everyone and give her job she can work to take care herself

It's not surprising that the Salvation Army, a faith-based organization, provides real help while government officials wring their hands. With the homeless, some of these people will find a better life. For those who are unwilling to give up drugs, it's a long road ahead. You have to put in the effort if someone reaches out their hand to help.

One thing is true it's about time they tried to help someone in need! Instead of always helping someone who's not from this country. After allowing people to discriminate against the Caucasians that much.

I lived in Rainier, Oregon in 2017 to 2021 & then I moved back to the UK in London at the end of 2021. I have a history in the UK for over 20 years. Over there any citizen of UK & Ireland which I am can get a universal basic income & housing benefits & assistance as long as u have an address even a hotel. London is a big city & doesn't have a homeless crisis like the US does. The US needs to stop spending millions on foreign war like Ukraine....screw the Ukraine ! No other country has a homeless crisis like the US....the US takes the cake. The US needs to fix & clean up it's own backyard it's a big mess. America is the laughing stock of the world. It needs a universal basic income & more cheap subsidized housing to get them off the streets. Or throw them in jail. U can't paint all homeless people with the same brush not all of them are druggies, I was homeless from 2016 for a year from bad investments & wrong choices but I worked hard at 2 & 3 jobs til I saved enough money My rent in Rainier, Oregon was only $400 a month so I could save like crazy. I used to go to Longview all the time to get things & I recall seeing a huge homeless encampment right in front of city hall. The locals made a big stink & later they were cleared out but it looks like they returned again. It's like a big foot long poop that won't flush away in the toilet....it keeps coming back. Phew.....the stench is unbearable. But this tiny home village is a good idea it's small but it's clean & descent light years better than the homeless tents. That young girl looks smart & civilized that's in one of the tiny houses. She's sincere & acts like a human being & she's making the effort to better herself. There's nowhere to go but up so not all homeless people are drug addicts & deadbeats.

Why is there a camp there?!

Not to sound ungrateful, but there not any case managers or getting housing in 90 days! I'm sitting in a shelter in North Portland no veteran case manager nothing! I'm not crazy about having to live with felons and drug addicts!

Activists would call this a concentration camp.

Is it really a "home" when they kick you out after 90 days? Is it really a home when you don't have a toilet, a shower, or even a sink or any running water without walking to a communal "hygiene trailer"? Is it really a home when there is a curfew, security guards and a metal detector to pass through when you enter the compound - oops I mean 'neighborhood' ? This isn't preparing people for independent living, it's preparing them for institutionalized living.

Holy cow what a difference from yuck to totally awesome I'm so proud that this town came together and this this for them i lived here all my life and i hated seeming homeless staying all over are up town being and garbage all over thank you jesus for doing this for them Keep it up i love it

Yeah but they don't mention the fact that they pick and choose who stays or not they don't bother to say that they break couples up married or not they don't bother to say that they watched someone get stabbed behind their gate they didn't bother to say that there was supposed to have been 200 tiny homes for couples and singles and that they only provide food 2 a day early morning and early afternoon. The city of Longview has more than just 50 homeless living in there town there are at least anywhere between 200 - 300 people living on the streets of longview because the city couldn't keep their promises....

There's a lack of affordable housing all over the United States. Is the government supposed to provide housing for everyone?
