❤ I just want to say thank you Montana Rock mom. You are living my dream. Thank you again for bringing all these videos. I feel like I'm there with you. Please keep them coming thank you again. Bonnie
That 1st jasper will cab up great! Holy Moly that 3rd agate is killer cool ! WOW! That petwood HOLY MOLY! I cut a lot of jasper out here in Oregon, they always come out great .. My favorite material still has to be petwood! Your cutting orientation is spot on also . Thanks for sharing the video 👌
Thanks Michael. I'm excited to cut more petrified wood. I'll never stop being amazed at how it can look so much like live wood. The banding was crazy on that wood. I'm going to email you a close up photo and see if you know what species it is...
We have four seasons for a reason: to get our indoor work done. Your out doors Rock adventures are stunning. Love to see that you are multi faceted with indoor adventures (slab saw & microscope). Well rounded, production is very good. Sending links to other rock hounds to see how it is done right.
What a great morning show, I even got to hit like first. Great, great pieces. I couldn't believe that first agate was that beautiful and completely fracture free. Nice Stone!! They all were. And that conglomerate was just so fascinating with the different color areas and that demarcation line where it looks like the whole thing fractured, shifted and healed. So cool. And I just noticed how close you are to 10,000 subs. Nicely done Kim.
I was thinking about your hilarious cabin fever rockhounding video you did last year. Where you are checking out the parking lot rocks just to get a fix. So darn funny! Hope you are OK this year.
What a great pair, you and Drogon. All the pieces suprised me when cut. They are always more beaitiful than I could imagine. One of the pieces at about 11:34 looked like Drogons face at the top. As always, cut, cut, cut! Keep having fun. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒🐲
Just when I think I can predict what's inside...nature throws a curve ball and surprises me. The first one was like nothing I had ever seen before under the microscope- I would have never predicted all that was going on in that one...
And I saw a little bear looking back you surprised to have been discovered, but friendly to the core🐻❄️ Also a woman's profile with her bright auburn hair blowing backwards 🙂
Okay i should have waited until the end for my comments. Wow the petrified wood and the agate and quarts wow. And the microscope pictures. So in awe of the colours you get to see in real life. Cameras just cant do justice to what our eyes see. Thanks Kim 😀
Drogon is happy...as am I. So, you're saying that snow, ice and cold isn't the best for hounding? Ha Nothing like trying to pull rocks out of frozen ground. Your stereoscope brings a whole new dimension to these rocks. The complexity and finite structure with the coloration... totally blown away. Must go hounding with you some day. Only fished in Montana, need to find rocks. Thanks for doing what you do.
I am addicted to cutting rocks to see what is insisde. I love watching you find them, but I think I love seeing you cut the even more. These are so beautiful.
Beautiful selection for Drogon today Kim! Interesting how that conglomerate came out. It looked like it was formed in 2 or 3 different layers. Do we get to see you polish these up too?😃. Here’s hoping that it gets warmer soon! Been right nasty up here in Calgary the last couple weeks too. 🥶
Oh my goodness! Perfect video for eating breakfast for lunch! I kept thinking how neat it would be to collaborate with someone who made fine intricate wood carvings or furniture and augmented what was already just too SWEET, with inlays made from some of those gorgeous slabs... or maybe like a decorative window cover made of cast iron with swirly floral flourishes in the corners with one vine crossing all with ready-made spaces to showcase the rock and allow the sun to shine through it.... so wonderful to live my dream life vicariously through your bright eyes and enthusiasm so similar to what I've exclaimed so loudly in my head a few times over the years...🙏😊👍💘🐲💘🍀🏡🛣🌄😻
The red agate that fractured and broke on you the first slab u showed looked like a cartoon dragons face breathing fire. You could call it the drogon stone. And the conglomerate was soo cool. Love it. Thank you so much for taking the time to make the video and letting us see some of the hidden beauty we normally dont see. Your awesome. Stay warm 😀👍
What phenomenal cuts! Drogon must be really full after those huge slabs! But they were so pretty! I cant get over that conglomerate. It looked like a blood sample under a microscope. How amazing is that!?! i think that the conglomerate was my favorite slab but they were all just gorgeous! Thanks MRM!
SO happy that I get to see your beautiful rocks Kim! With my little 7" blade I can't cut BIG slabs, but I can get surprised by the beauty inside!! Keep 'em coming! Oh...the temperature here yesterday and today is in the low 70's, SUNNY, and no wind!!!
I’m spending my Birthday Morning watching you feed Drogon those beautiful rocks! 😃. Do you enjoy making the slabs into jewelry? Love the micro pics and also the way you carefully study the rocks before you cut them.
Hard candy. That cover photo is a “hometown honey”. One of those for every 75 trips? (you earned it ) An exceptional petrified and Jasper conglomerate. You know what you got there. You need to make a video 〜 your top 20 cuts. That might keep you busy til spring. 😎
Like to see more slabs, and less cutting in half. But thats just the craftsman in me looking for raw material, and not specimens. Specimens are nice, polish the face, put another cut at the bottom so it stands up nice.
Your cuts were perfect. I remember when you first got Drogon. Your cuts have gotten better and better. Isn't it funny how we begin to have that instinct on how and where and when we should dissect a rock. Fabulous fun! Thanks for the wonderful "get away" from cabin fever with the adventure in Slabbing BIG Rocks. You are the best, MRM. Rock on!
* The second stone was so lovely ~ like Lace..~ You had a Fabulous Color day.. ~ The slab at 12:19 mark looks like IRIS agate with all the close bands in shimmering colors..
