Замечательное видео. Благодаря вам я узнала много новых узлов, что непременно мне пригодятся в работе. Даже не зная языка, мне все понятно. Большое спасибо за мастер - класс!
Gracias Liliana! I will keep in mind to make full projects in my tutorials in the future rather than just the tips on the techniques. Thank you for your feedback! :)
Thank you, Robin! My middle color section was about 18 inches. Good luck with your project! I'd love to see how it turns out. If you are on Instagram or Facebook, please share some photos and tag me so I don't miss it :)
I'm so excited to get started on this! I have been sourcing my materials and will need a "natural" color single strand cord for one of the spiral square not areas. Which color did you use in yours? I assume you got something from ganxxet?
I believe it was Oat color. single strand 4mm. www.ganxxet.com/products/soft-cotton-cord-4-mm-1-single-strand-oat-color Enjoy creating this! I would love to see how it turns out. If you are on IG and will share the final hanging, tag me please @fibersofmine :)
I'm not on Instagram. But I am a member of the beginners macrame group on fb. I posted my finished product on there! I loved doing this one and loved the way it turned out. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Same here as with your other question. If you want to make a curtain, you would need to improvise some. Not only with the rope and cord, but with the design as well. You would need to omit the horizontal dowels, for example, to make the curtain move freely. The 3ply rope I used for this hanging was 5mm which is thick and stiff enough to support the hanging and keep it flat. If I were to make a curtain I would want it to be flexible, so I would probably look for a soft 3mm, 3ply for the natural base/skeleton portion and 3 or maybe even 2mm soft single strand color cord for the colored section.
Hi Ghada, the number of colors used and the number of ropes around which you will be wrapping the colors around will entirely depend on the design you want to create and the width of your project. Meaning, how many natural ropes will fit your your dowel. I used 5 mm 3 ply twisted rope and cold fit 48 pieces cut to 160" long on a 48" long dowel. I used 5 colors for the main section and a 6th accent color for the bottom.
I would recommend cutting 5 times of the desired length of your final project. So if you want your piece to be 6 feet long you should cut your cord 360" long. Keep in mind that depending on the size of the cord you are using, you might need more or less. but generally I prefer to cut my cord longer than I think I will need to be on a safe side.
