A large male Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) walking by in dehesa landscape in Spain. Said to be "the rarest cat in the world" around the turn of the century, with less than 100 individuals in the wild surviving. In the following years the Iberian Lynx made a spectacular comeback, with almost 1700 animals in the wild in 2023. If you know where to look these animals are not that hard to find, although encounters are usually short.
