In my opinion: As a Senior NCO, the focus in leadership training has become writing essays and papers instead of how to conduct NCO buisness. In WLC (now BLC) there was an hour or so block on counseling and that was the only time I have been formally trained on it in my 24 year career. What is the duty and authority of a PSG? I don't know, I have never been trained on the details but it requires knowledge on logistics , UCMJ, regulations, mentoring and general how-to guidance. We can develop others to know what we know and that is currently not enough!

What are the drawbacks of becoming isolationists again and investing in national security at home? And then investing in training foreign forces to conduct regular combat operations to secure their country's resources. We could act as a factory of war to bring about peace. We should set up a system to indoctrinate our citizens and foreign allies to think about a potential world union to better control and understand what we have left of the world resources. Only then can we all secure Earth, uniting as people on this formidable rock with devastating weather, deadly landscapes that are separated by massive engulfing oceans.

The main draw back is it draws the fight back to the homeland. Being out in the field, we keep the fight in the field. We keep our enemies occupied in their lands, not ours. Our enemies will not stop being our enemies just because we went home.
