Leslie shows you how she makes these striking dangly teardrop earrings using seed beads and brick stitch. Materials: 2 colors cylinder (Delica) beads, 2 colors size 11 seed beads, 1 color size 15 seed beads, 38x25mm teardrop frame
These really are beautiful. I can’t wait to try. I’m not familiar with using two chain links instead of jump rings so it would help to add more information on that
It's a little hard for me to see what you did. With the pyramids were you just creating that shape by brick stitching rows at different parts of the frame to make tiny triangles/pyramids? Did you leave gaps between each pyramid or did you just do the technique around the entire form after that first row?
New subbie here!! I just binge watched all ur tutorials. I'm a novice in jewelry making and design. I've tried bead weaving once in a class at my library, peyote stitch ring. I liked it but didn't continue bc I do more with beads, headline, eyepins etc. After watching u I'm gonna get back into it, I especially like the brick stitch. Anyway now I wished I didn't give my jewelry class instructor all my seed beads(11/0). Lol. I'm in New York too, long island. Tfs!
Hi Lorraine, thanks for writing! I just started this channel, so I'm thrilled to inspire you to get back into it! The good news is that beads are relatively cheap and available. Best of luck and let me know how it goes. :-)
hi, just finished my first pair. I love them! did a test between 11's and 15's around the edge. the delicacy of the 15's is worth the time. thanks for all of your patterns
Hi Leslie I was wondering about the joint at the top. I can't put those extra 3 at the top and I've got the right size ring teardrop ,all the right count I was wondering if it's something that I'm doing wrong. Thank you
What size tear drop are you using? There are several listed at the site. The view reply does not seem to be working. I don't know which ones to purchase.
I love your patterns! You are very talented, indeed! I watched this video on my TV, and for some reason the TV connection doesn't allow us to see the description and your comments or any links you list. You named Golden=Age beads for the teardrops, but didn't say what size... When I went to them to purchase, the website only showed the small ones, so I (like a dummy) assumed they were the ones. I got them today, and Oops! They are waaaay too small. Oh well, I actually have an idea on how to use them already. :) I think I'll order the jig I saw online and make my own. Jig was about as much as the teardrops. THANK YOU so much for sharing your talent! God bless.....
I'm glad you found something to do with them! The teardrop size is listed in the video description, I believe. I have also thought of getting a jig and making my own but never have the time!
Love your earrings! Just made a pair of turquoise and red with gold accents. Can you please tell me where you purchased the rings that you use at the top of the earring for your hooks? Also what size are they? I used a wire guardian.
I use links of chain so there are no gaps. I generally buy it in NYC so I'm not sure of the gauge. And I use a few different sizes too. I prefer rolo chain, but you can use any round links. I hope that helps!
Hi. This definitely will be my next project once I gather all the material. Can you please write in the description what findings are you using (names) and what size beads? Thank you
Hi, I ordered the rings from amazon, they. Stated the measurements were correct. I made the first one and ran into a giant problem, There was no room at the top to join the pyramids, as you showed. I had room for five pyramids, I just can’t figure out how to fix this. Please help and thank you in advance.
Thanks for this tutorial! Love how clearly I can see everything! How are these teardrop frames? I'm looking to buy some but I had bad luck in the past where things were terrible quality and I had to toss em' out. :(
The ones I got tend to be slightly irregular so I match them and have had to bend others a bit to make them more symmetrical, so I hear you!! Sterling ones are more reliable and more expensive. Check out Multi Creations New Jersey-theirs is a bit smaller but the concept could still be applied. Good luck!!
Really like this design. Great tutorial. Please tell me the circumference of the teardrop. I'd like to make my own with some wire since I have a boatload of wire and no wire forms. (I know how to make a simple and/or a wrapped loop to bring the ends together.) TFS!
