Fascinating! Living near the coast of Maine, I’m hoping for a pink granite headstone. I’m a new subscriber and plan to do some headstone cleanups in the summer.

Interesting video! I don't really know much about granite quarries, so it was neat to learn more about them!

The stone on the front of the visitor center looks very much like the stone on my home built in Galesburg, il/Central Illinois in 1957. My question is did rock of ages ever sell fireplace kits (precut) because my stone I have photos of the house going up with the brick mason that owned it.

I live in New Hampshire and love our granite. It’s everywhere in everything.. even on our roads..sometimes you’ll see a giant granite in someone’s yard. It’s beautiful.

I buy this stuff by the truck load, and I’m sure he explained the quarry side of thing’s excellent, on the monumental side, there is light barre, (lowest grade) then medium barre (which is used on 90% of monuments) then there is dark barre aka “select barre” (this is the best barre grade), the difference between medium, and select takes a person that knows, the average person can’t tell, now the light barre has a bit more white specs, making the engravings not contrast as well.,

I’ve heard rumors that they are talking about shutting the quarry down, not sure how true..

I drive past there almost every day. I wonder what I was doing Nov 22, 2022 ? The tour guide has the best VT accent, sad part is that accent is dying off. Just like many traditional VT things :(

Must be terrible having granite. What about the birds!!! Perhaps a granite tax and mining tax .. a tax on moving granite and a tax daily for owning granite. And what about the birds!!! A bird granite desiccation tax?
