Qualitatively, I think he's usually pretty honest with regards to whether something is good or not. In terms of HOW good, I think he does sometimes exaggerate or minimize, especially when it comes to small businesses. Of course, how much he likes something is innately subjective.

that's not correct. mike has said if he's reviewing a small business and doesn't like the food, he just won't make a video about it at all- his way he doesn't give a false review, but also doesn't hurt them. for large scale restaurants or establishments, he gives honest opinions. as for this video, he's eating his two favorite things- hotpot and waygu. why would he complain? being overly nitpicky isn't doesn't make you less biased lol

That. Looks. INCREDIBLE! I've never seen anything like that. Wow. Thank you for this video. I like that the table has its own hot pot setup that allows you to dip the meat yourself and try such a wide variety. Yes, there's currently no way for me to get to this spot but it was still nice to see a very different dining experience. Thanks!

That's the same concept as a hai di lao hot pot of even up to the entertainment. Most hotpots are just copycats of each other

I'm here in Japan and what Japanese is doing when feasting with hotpot or shabu shabu is, they will dip the meat first on the boiling soup and dunk it after on the egg.

This place is very nice, but reservation is kinda meh. Need to deposit $200 for reservation, on top of that, you need to spend minimum $800 to be able to make a reservation. Without reservation, like an hour or more for walk-in. Hmmmm!

finally had hotpot for the first time over the weekend it was so good and the restaurant had a cute cat robot to help serve ingredients to tables had the tom yum soup base. If anyone in is Edmonton Alberta I recommend Chili Hot Pot

The soup is about $25 then each meat item is about $20 each, sides are around $10 each. Minimum about $200 Plus drinks.

Went to same place for my birthday.@Hacienda Heights four season plaza gotta say the food was okay.. couldnt taste the difference between the a5 and the regular fatty beef at your reg hot pot places. But the service was subpar from what mike experienced. Service felt rushed, ordered the claypot rice and they just left it there nobody came to mix it for us we had to do it ourselves when we realized nobody was going to help us. By that time the egg overcooked and rice got kind of soggy. Would rate 2/5 would not go back.

No. This is a technique he was taught at a five star wagyu restaurant.

No. Mikey was taught this technique in a high end wagyu restaurant and he has used this technique in other videos. You dip it in raw egg yolk and then cook it. This is not the other method of the egg yolk cooked in sous vide at 135˚F for one hour that you dip cooked wagyu in.
