East West Transportation Bell 214B-1 Biglifter C-FXNI is seen on the approach and landing at CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada with a water bucket and long-line after a long day of wildfire fighting against some forest fires in the Kootenay region. It was a nice helicopter to see as it had been a long time since I last spotted a Bell 214 at CZNL.

These 214s are meant to be quiet faster than the other Huey versions like the 205 and 212.. They can cruise at 160+ mph and max out at 175.. The others would be nowhere near that. Probably 150 max..

I’ll tell you something,back in 2005 I was heli logging under a 214,we flew from Squamish to Williams lake in British Columbia. Had 5 or 6 guys in the back as well as the pilots,obviously,with all our camp shit with us. We had a tail wind pushing us up to 190 knots,it took us an hour and 15 minutes to go 225 miles,we were hauling ass😁. We all knew we weren’t supposed to be going that fast in a helicopter.
