Doc’s voice didn’t always sound like that - after he became a coach, shouting instructions to players caused him to get nodes on his vocal chords. I’m pretty sure he had to have surgery, and his voice was permanently damaged. But I really like his raspiness.

Great video. Ever hear of Pistol Pete Maravich? Some say he was better than Bird as a shooter and ball handler. Maravich retired from the Celtics one year before Bird joined. Magic commented that he stole moves from Maravich. Pistol Pete was doing moves that Bird, Magic, Mj, etc did back in the 70s and 80s.
