This video shows the all around genius of Bird in that he was a great all around team player. Here he shows off his shooting, rebounding and starting the break, handling the ball with point guard skills on the break, his great and unselfish passing in the half court, and making clutch plays down the stretch. Coach Fitch called Bird "Kodak" because of his ability to "take pictures" at any time on the court and think 2 or 3 plays ahead. No wonder Bird took the Celtics from the second worst team in the NBA the year before to the team with the best record in the NBA his rookie year which is unprecedented in league history. 🔥🐐
I'm grateful to see this. My dad loved bird and got me a Spalding Larry bird ball before I knew what basaketball was. No bull that ball was asa tough ass the man,lasted 15 years.
Younger, healthier (before he broke his back) Bird was all over the court on offense and defense. Great anticipation and court sense from the very start of his career.
I remember watching this game, Dennis Johnson saved the day with a 3 pointer to send the game to over time and the Defending Champ Sonics won the game in OT. RIP Dennis Johnson!
