The saddest part of this story is that I was there that night at MABC with all the other kids. Having watched this, I started thinking about that entire generation of kids that were in that church with me and I would be stretching to say that 25% of them are in ANY church today. Oh, the stories I could tell about what was really going on in that church, but I will not. Thank God that His mercies endure forever and I have found a relationship with Christ that I would have never found if I had stayed in the IFB Cult. Oh, and Larry, yes, yes they did drink after that, almost all of them, me included, sometimes with the "good kids".
Beware of carnival preachers! we have all seen them turn a service into an emotional experience with their theatrical performance, they strut around, kicking over mics, jumping around, while convincing their hearers that what they are witnessing is an awakening, or a revival. these services become so "charismatic" that the hearers come alive with shouting, hand waving, and running. this is all done in the name of "fundamentalism". Often times the alters are full of emotion at the end of the service, to the same degree or greater than what the service was. These types of tent and revival meetings are very appealing to shallow ground hearers! Be careful, and beware! Mark 4:16-17 “And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended." 1 Corinthians 14:40 "Let all things be done decently and in order."
This was all a display of Brown's "greatness" for, "Look what a good, godly, old-fashioned (as Hyles would put it) leather-lunged preacher I am! Look how I scared all those young people from the pulpit! How great I am!" This whole clip had nothing to do with actually caring for the youth in his church, but served better for Brown's self-aggrandizing tirade of "hot preachin.'"
I have personally spent time with Dr. Brown. I think all who know him would say that he is one of the kindest preachers alive. He has a true heart for people. What some call an "act" or a "carnival show" I call necessary. Think of today's churchgoers. Most of them are fed up with the long boring sermons. Yes you do act crazy to attract people, but not so you can steal money from them, but so you can help them. If the only way to tell a crowd of people that their was a bomb in the building was to light myself on fire...I would do it. Doesnt matter how crazy it looks!
Please examine yourself. Lighting yourself on fire wouldn't help anyone. You're making ridiculous excuses for Larry's buffoonery. He lies in the pulpit, celebrates immoral men like Jack Hyles, and has warped your poor mind to the point that you don't even know what church is. "Doesn't matter how crazy it looks!" Amazing.
People are bored with sermons because they are unregenerate and dead in their sins. The word brings life. This is not the word being preached. This is complete garbage. This is lack of confidence and trust in God’s word because if this man had confidence in God’s word, he would preach it and not try to hide it behind theatrical endeavors of fire and darkness. Timothy tells us a minister must be sober minded. This video above is the polar opposite of what a minister should be like. May God have mercy and open the hearts of his people to leave this foolishness.
Well, this is awkward... Numbers 28:7 NASBS Then the drink offering with it shall be a fourth of a hin for each lamb, in the holy place you shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the LORD. Deuteronomy 14:26 NASBS You may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household. So who do I listen to? Larry Brown? Or God Himself?
And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering. -Numbers 28:7 KJV In the KJV “wine” is used to refer to grape juice whether it’s fermented or not. And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, -Deuteronomy 14:26 KJV This verse instructs is to take the money we would spend on what we lust or crave and instead give it to God.
Actually based on your Nasbs you would see that you are choosing to listen to Larry brown or satan. Because the KJV is the only book that are the true words of God himself.
Actually the KJV is a translation… it’s not inspired and you may actually want to study the word wine in the ORIGINAL Greek, the word used in the original text means alcoholic wine…
But the Bible does say that being drunk is a sin. It's more of a principle. If you drink alcohol you are not wise. Don't use the Bible to defend drinking alcohol. You got that belief from your heart. But there's still room at the foot of the cross!
Proverbs 23:29-32 KJV [29] Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? [30] They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. [31] Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. [32] At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. … -note that “mixed wine” refers to mixing fermented grape juice (alcoholic wine) with non fermented grape juice (referred to as wine)
@@gatorbyte5254 they that tarry LONG at the wine. It doesn't say they that drink wine... I don't drink alcohol nor do I desire it. I personally believe it's better to abstain because I know how depraved my flesh can be and am fairly I would carry it to drunkenness at some point. However, I cannot find a single Scripture that supports complete abstinence for every person...and in context, neither can you.
He is acting like he's in a Hollywood movie, I'm not impressed! Turning preaching into a theater is about as childish as a grown man could be. It's no wonder why there is no revival, if I were a lost man I would probably step on stage and punch him for acting like a baffoon! But I'm a saved man so I will just say he's a child wanting attention! 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
Don Douglas I suppose you would like for me to say that Jesus acted exactly like this man? That way you can justify this man's theatrical performance? Is this the way your mind works? Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" If you want to believe that go right ahead more power to you!
