I want a Kitfox Lite so Bad. I was at Kitfox out in Nampa Idaho when they were 1st building them. They had a completed one there and I fell in love with that thing.
I’m sure you know what you and your friend are doing but, starting the motor from the front, Would you not start it from the backside so you don’t fall into the prop, etc? I’m just asking not judging
It's generally better to prop from the front; better stance, reaching the prop properly, etc. With bigger engines than those on the little kitfox, you often need to include your whole body in a proper swing; done right, the motion leaves you moving away from the plane of the propellor. Once in a while you find a small plane that allows for propping from behind the propellor, but it's not usual. No matter what you've got, it's best to learn to do it right from someone with experience (and all their fingers and other parts).
Nice! Is that considered a non-tax aircraft? Also, does the FAA require you to insure this airplane? Whats the hourly operating cost? What fuel does it use? Thanks!
Most of the Kitfox Lites don’t make weight. Looks like this one has an N number and ‘Experimental’ placard, thus likely he falls under quite a bit more regulation of part 91.
