This guy is literally the reason celebrities no longer allow us to get close too them...The sad truth is almost every super famous celebrity has a fan like this because of mental illness and celeb worship...this is why everyone has top notch security even for the smallest things now
@@margarethdekeijser6380 I listen to Hip-Hop and alot of my fav rappers have been killed in the last 10 years alone, its absolutely had an effect on me somewhat...death in the ghetto is so normalized along with violence. Luckily Rock and Metal Artists dont kill eachother...
@@lizzychrome7630 Sociopaths are impulsive. So they aren't always chilled and calculated. Psychopaths are. Think gang member that is in and out of jail bc he acts on impulse and high nepotism. Compared to a calculated serial killer.
But if you think of the comparison or the comparable amount of pain. Mark ended up way way worse for wear. He was slowly crucified and now his mind is mush for condemning an innocent man.
And of course this is what he wanted....to be important. He speaks of the event like hes special for it. Thanks Larry King for making him feel that way.
@@benb-roberts5242 I am saying that all on planet earth are stuck in bodies and one does not get that debased without serious transgressions. Siddartha Gautama said the same so I am in good company. If you think you are a "one life animal" and you have never harmed then ok. You would be in good company too. Like the entire human race. Good luck.
3:00 "Is that all you want" he asked. John was being nice you doofus. He didn't know he was "looking into the eyes of the nobody who's going to kill him." John was just being nice. Amazing to me how sociopaths thinks.
I reckon it’s the lack of empathy that psychopaths feel. So they can’t understand anyone being genuinely nice or caring because when psychopaths use it they do it for personal gain. So his psychopathic mind must have just assumed that’s what John was doing.
It sounds like he was just asking him "is that all (you want me to write on the album)?" pretty basic question, Mark read too much into it to make himself seem so important
I don't believe this, I honestly think there is an instinct about people we have and I am guessing there was something about this Mark Chapman's body language that bothered John Lennon and Lennon was a person who was known for speaking his mind so he was just maybe trying to get a little information out of him as a self defense mechanism
Exactly. How self-obsessed this psychopath must be to even consider John thinking or feeling something like that, as if it was all only about him and his planned assassination. Guess what Chapman, what you did was meaningless and sick and the world will never forgive you.
1039sflem I think this video is necessary. The new generation gets a real glimpse of the pain that you all went through, without this we really only have secondhand information.
You really believe that???? lol.... that they would allow CNN in a prison to interview a killer so he could tell his story??? lolol.... you might as well believe that the Easter Bunny is real, too.... they "gave him the platform he wanted", as you put it, so that they can enforce the programming & make sure that the narrative sticks!!!! The super mass gullible populace will believe ANYTHING that makes them feel a tiny bit better about how meaningless their life as a wage slave is - but you have ALL been MK-ULTRA'd & deceived your entire lives.
+Roodsteam You got that right.......The loser should have been hung or at the very leased locked up for life. So what does that say loud and clear? There is much more to what really happened, and this pukes story is all BS!! He's free after killing an all time superstar musician, yeah right, by crooks higher up that set it all up. Either the establishment back then, or the British Empire. Both could plan and set up a patsy for a hit that easy , then sell it off as a lie through the media. Sick stuff that was not only never held accountable back then, it is still that way now years later!!
@@markv1274 People like me? What am I like? You know nothing about me. I did not watch it and I don’t need to watch it as I knew of it’s existence. Yes there are worse things on TV and they should not be broadcast either. How would you feel if your loved one’s murderer was given air time to explain their actions? A thoughtless comment from you.
@@giomachaberidze7316 I believe you misunderstood my "why?" question. I was stating why this interview happened. It's because people like the original poster watch it. The "why?" wasn't in reference to Chapman's motive. In fact, Chapman killed Lennon because he thought that the ex-Beatle was a fraud. Read THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Not justifying what Chapman did, just saying this was where his mind was.
and it's amazing just how kind john was, right up until his final breaths. finding out he was happy to sign something for the man who would eventually end his life broke my heart, truly a monster. anyone else would've deserved to be in the position, someone who truly loved and admired john as an artist and visionary and human being. makes me sick.
are you kidding? this is PRIMARY information (meaning it comes from a person that was actually there to witness it) regarding lennon's murder. no amount of recreation could count for this guy retelling his story. so from an academic point of view this is amazing.
Paul Thompson I think it gives fans a little bit of clarity and perhaps some closure, though this is a horrible event. It gives us a primary source rather than just the news.
Only because they have all done similar things as have we all through infinite time. Or as George Harrison has said many times the soul inhabits the body time and time again.
The fact the prison allows his wife to come in for "conjugal visits" is infuriating. This man should have lost everything the moment he did what he did, why the hell should he be allowed to be close with a loved one and have any pleasure after what he did to John!
He should be released- and have the public know about when he is being released. And also maybe they should publish the address in which he is going to. I doubt he will make it that far.
I don't know if John 'knew' that he was looking at his murderer. John was probably being nice. Like the time when he found a random guy in his garden and sat and talked to him for awhile, trying to help him. He was genuinely nice to strangers.
You guys gave him exactly what he wanted, why? He only wanted to be remembered as the guy who killed John Lennon. You shouldn’t have given this interview.
Why would any desire to be known for murdering someone famous? You got be mentally to crave attention so desperately that even negative attention is considered acceptable.
Tom A okay 12 years old kid time to get off ur computer u prolly mad because u died in fortnite but don’t disrespect John Lennon like that he be remember forever not by the Beatles but by his name that how much he is beloved u wish but since u jus want to hate u won’t be remember
I find it so surreal that a TV host is talking to a killer so casually and calmly. He's almost acting as if this guy is just a random witness, and not the killer himself.
That’s kind of what you have to do - as a journalist, attorney, social worker, etc. It’s no place to attack someone when you are trying to have some level of trust between you. A lot of the comments here are pure anger and vigilante role play, but you still have to address him as a human being who has his rights - while not diminishing the severity of the act committed
Exactly. As if this is supposed to make me say "aw poor MDC let's release him from prison". Prison reform is one thing but trying to free an admitted murderer with mental issues is out of the question. These are the people who are a threat to society.
This is just sickening. The way he describes Mr. Lennon being kind and giving before ending his life gives me the worst mental image words can give. Just horrible.
This is one of the most important interviews ever. One of the most infamous murderers having a live interview with one of the most well known journalists
Just remember that John himself really wasn’t that great of a person. He was good publicly, but wasn’t a good man out of the Beatles, really. He had brilliant ideas and he was a brilliant man, but he wasn’t necessarily a savior walking the earth...
I suppose folks want to know WHY he did it. It wasn't revenge or any substantial reason. Why kill a complete stranger who did nothing to you. People MIGHT want answers. A girl was killed and her mother wanted to speak to the killer, to ask why and how he did it. So there is the wiping the slate clean thing, folks might want to take part in. It gives him a chance to answer for himself.
@s3v3n3 Any knowledge about the nobody that killed John Lenon doesn't add anything to history. This video is just undeserved attention to someone who's got nothing relevant going on with him besides killing John Lennon.
chrmantilla i hope this is only for letting him powerless outside the prison walls without any protection, and so everyone can beat the shit out of him for what he did, I would be sick if this is for supporting chapman.
3:06 - he asked "is that all" b/c you stood there like an awkward creep after he gave you the autograph, where people normally thank John and move on. It's a common expression and how polite people ask "why are you still here?" when business is concluded yet the person is not leaving for some reason. He was not asking you to kill him and nothing ominous about it. At some point, you're going to have to face the fact that your killing was utterly devoid of meaning and that you aren't special, buddy.
@@nicholasring3949 You should stop being disturbed at people who are disturbed by stuff that warrants being disturbed and start being disturbed yourself.
@@fourthmusketeer221 did you know his autograph is the most sought after of all criminals....he signs a lot of autographs for inmates and their relatives
@@isiacfrost5922 he'll ALWAYS be denied - the premeditation alone will render him ineligible (not to mention the suffering of his family and fans) to any parole board on the planet...
@@fourthmusketeer221 yeah, he'd have to move to the planet Mars in order to be remotedly safe! For sure, a lot of people would want to "Jack-Ruby" him, but who would want that honor and spend time in prison for THAT? 🤔
This man was denied parole for tenth time last year. Honestly I say let him out cause there’s no way he’ll make it 10 minutes before someone gets to him
Leave it to the United States to destroy one of the most important British artists in world history and then give the murderer his 15 minutes of fame on live TV. Fuck the USA.
That's why big stars need personal bodyguards at all times. If John had bodyguards, this would not have happened. Micheal Jackson had three bodyguards watching 24/7.
A macabre, but, fascinating insight into the mind of one of the 20th century's most evil killers. It was, of course, a pointless and tragic slaying, but, this is the first time I have heard him interviewed on the subject. Sickening, but, thanks for uploading anyway.
you're an idiot. why wouldn't you want to see what the man who killed john lennon is like? that's like somebody murdering your parents and you don't want to find out who the person is.
@@raider6714 You're the only idiot here lad. Making the identity of this sociopath public has made given him a cult status. By giving him a platform to voice his opinions Larry just upped the killer's cult status. That's why you no longer see them making the names of criminals public re: The christchurch killer.
@@raider6714 I’m not tryna talk to the person that killed my mum they won’t give a flying ugly hunchbacked goblins butt cheek so there’s nothing to say to them
The main reason why I wish that the Beatles had never broken up and that John had never met Yoko. No way that John would have been alone in America had he been with his bandmates in England.
That’s how a psychopath operates. They’re detached from the world in a special way where it seems like they’re a mere spectator, watching themselves perform actions. It’s a way of escaping responsibility in their mind yet also knowing they’re fully responsible and aren’t seeking to convince anyone of their innocence, see Edmund Kemper.
John Lennon asked him if he wanted anything else because he cared about his fans... He never would've thought his murderer... This monster is better forgotten... John Lennons will live on!!!
No he just says that he wouldnt have been there at that time on that date. Not that he wouldnt have done it. He follows it up by immediately saying he would've done it the very next day most likely.
Wow John Lennon asked, "Is that all? Do you want anything else?" That's a guy who appreciated his fans. Most celebrities don't even want to sign one autograph. And who would want to sign their name? But John was a kind man and great person.
