This is easily and undoubtedly one of the best lectures I have ever watched in my entire life in any field of knowledge. I don't know whether that says more about me (because I'm young and I've probably haven't watched more lectures than a typical college student) or whether Mr. Larry McEnerney is really just that good, both as a writer and as a speaker. I know that praising him wouldn't really amount to anything more than a simple comment on a RU-vid video, but for the amount of things I've learned just by watching him speak, particularly this lecture as well as his other lectures about writing, I would simply say that Mr. McEnerney is one of the best educators in the world. Thank you for your invaluable service to us learners, and I hope you continue to live in peace together with your family and loved ones.

The fact that this instructor spent an hour explaining the brilliance of Lincoln's writing reinforces the splendor of Lincoln and his innate ability to resonate with Americans. I have serious doubts that Lincoln dissected his address the way this inductor did. He organically knew how to be persuasive and compassionate in his expressions. That's true LEADERSHIP.

Just one note to the good professor. Lincoln doesn't say the problem is that Democracy shall endure, but that "a government conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that All Men are created equal" shall endure. I know it's easy to use Democracy as shorthand, but Democracy is not synonymous with Liberty or Equality before the law. It's not hard for a Democracy to be quite unfree.

If anyone is looking for similar material you might want to look into other teachers from "The Little Red Schoolhouse", like Joseph M. Williams, Gregory G. Colomb and George Gopen. Good stuff, but not nearly as entertaining as a McEnerney lecture.
