I don't think Larry is injured... I think he doesn't want to do bullshit shows in Vegas

Larry health reason for not playing is false . This video explains it why he’s not playing the Elvis style shows. He was a huge fan of Elvis and knows how these shows ruin a band or artist’s credibility.

He definitely has issues with his arms and back but I think you are right, not like U2 had to do this straight away or anything and with those bollix redux where they butcher the originals in Songs of s***** I think it's time they called it a day, they got more money than they could spend in 50 lifetimes so without one they shouldn't go on, they sold out in 2000 anyway, last album they had that blew me away as a teenager was Pop and the incredible Popmart, 14 and me Da took me to four Popmart shows, best show I've ever seen and heard, been once to every other one, 360 was good but 1990's U2 were the best most daring band on earth considering their success, they chased chart success instead of art after, shame.

Yep. And he’s my favorite musician and the main reason I love U2. Still, wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t come to Vegas. His home and family are in Ireland.

agree 100 percent ive seen U2 countless times for decades and the idea of them playing gigs without Larry is just absurd its his band and nobody can replace him for me he is unique and is the backbone of the band he carries the Rhythm of the band

i don’t think he was referring to the type of project U2 are up to in Vegas. He was referring to being a washed up old act. It’s just a coincide that he is under surgery and recovery. The band has always been honest with us I don’t see why that would have suddenly changed. They’re telling us the truth about what LMJ intentions are.

Larry has absolutely nothing to prove to anyone. He’s got more money than he’ll ever need and he’s 65 years old. I’m very nearly that age and I can tell you…as you get older, that ‘TICK TOCK MUTHAFUCKA!’ get louder and louder in your head if you’re paying any attention at all. I say good on him. I’m sure that everyone agreed to this IF they could use the ‘Larry’s recovering from an injury’ story. And who knows? Doesn’t really matter. He’s doing what he wants. They’re doing what they want. The fans seem to be loving the shows and the venue and if they want to throw down for it, good for them. I see no losers here.

Suspect Larry does not want to play Las Vegas. So isn't. Rather than being injured. He will be drumming in the next album & tour I hope.

The guys are getting on, Fact of Life and the idea of sleeping in the same bed every night after a show is probably irresistible to them at this stage. They've had a lot of years of world tours, trucks, hotels, airports etc. Albeit 5 star treatment but I'm a little conflicted about it. If Larry said U2 isn't about playing to wealthy Japanese businessmen in a Vegas residency I would understand. Then maybe I'm misunderstanding Las Vegas and the residency. It's definitely at odds with the earnest flag waving Bono of the 80's. Then again MacPhisto would approve. I assume he'll be making an appearance! 😆 Even that could be more Las Vegas Elvis than MacPhisto all these years later! 😄

u2 hasn't really created music that's relevant since the POP LP in 1997, tbh
@u2santos
@u2santos Год назад
ATYCLB was pretty relevant back in the day, especially after the 9/11 attacks. And HTDAAB -particularly Vertigo- was on the iPod ad that was televised everywhere a gazillion times between 2004 and 2006. Pretty relevant if you ask me. I'd (almost) give it to you if you said "good" instead of "relevant". Pop was their last GREAT effort, with No Line On The Horizon being very good -but not brilliant-, ATYCLB & HTDAAB being bland but decent, SOI being pretty good, and SOE & SOS being really bad.
