In the history of monster movies, this sequence is still to this day the greatest transformation scene.

@@reddhead2948 don't you think the transformation in the hospital is a slow full process? The mirror sequence is quicker as most other transformations sequences. It's o k to disagree since we both love universal horror.

My top 4 transformations into any thing 1. Mirror house of Frankenstein 2 David Banner first hulkout from the episode of Married 3 American Werewolf in London 4 this one All 4 are universal and and all 4 are partical effects which will always trump cgi modern stuff

@@reddhead2948 your right sir about the terrible GGI that is unfortunately substituting for effects . Real make up artists like Pearce at universal ( physical effects) which bring the human element no longer exists. Very sad.

True fact: the pillow Larry's head is actually plaster of Paris with a pillow case glued to it to prevent the wrinkles from changing during the filming of the transformation. Because if they used an actual pillow, the wrinkles would definitely change along with the transformation, and it would look terrible.

I cannot and never will understand why this movie gets so much hate. Aside from Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein, this is the best monster-crossover

I cannot understand why some critics rate this movie so low. There are some very well-filmed scenes in this movie, and this is one of the best scenes, with the moonlight creeping over the floor until it reaches Talbot, and, with his face going in and out of the moonlight, changing into a werewolf. And I must say I think this is the best transformation scene of all the early werewolf movies. Terrific opening scene in the graveyard: scary and bleak. The grave robbers go into the Talbot crypt....Yikes!! I looked closely to see if the ravens in the trees were real... and they were. And not only that, influential in some future werewolf movies as well. Look at the movie, "Curse of the Werewolf." Great acting by Oliver Reed, but you can see the influence of the wolfman makeup on him, from...The Lon Chaney movies!

@@bc58 To me, this is NOT a B horror movie. The sets are elaborate, and they even have singing! An A- list movie all the way, great, eerie music as well. Final scene of the two monsters fighting, great scene.

he was the only actor to play Larry Talbot/ The Wolf Man in all the Universal movies, all the other monsters had at least 2 different actors portray them across the various sequels.
