Larry 'the big man' Melman on Letterman 

I remember Dave asking about stage hands behind him and Larry said "Pay no attention to them. They are simple men who perform a few menial tasks in exchange for my generous protection."

Larry "Bud" Melman was to be replaced by Ethel Merman on future shows but it just didn't work out when they found out she was dead.

I wonder if that guy still has that arm!?
