Great video! Never thought of shaping the shaft itself to prerotate the nocks. But notice for most of the shooting he uses modern arrows. I made a tutorial how he uses modern arrrows to speed shoot, by prerotating, or using 2 fletchings or the using the ends of the nocks
What I've found helps me with accuracy is simply not overthinking it. Once you have your fundamentals down, just make the arrow appear in the target, right where you want it to, don't even consider the delivery. Focus on the target, eyeball it hard, and your body will take care of the rest.
Once you start making your own arrows and bows youlll never want store bought bows and arrows. Awesome looking arrows! You should make a selfbow to match them
I can tell you how they do it since i do it myself. I do mounted archery and with a horsebow you don't need to aim. Its just the feeling. So you do not need an anchor point. Your Mind is able to calculate that and we can rely on this.
i was looking a video like this one for years! thanks you man. I have a question, because when i do it, the string of the bow ends up being pulled with my first Phalanx of my fingers intead of with the tip or last phalanx. I notice that messes up my acurrecy because it ends up being a messy release. Does this thing happens to you? do you have any recommendation?
I've noticed that if I let my draw hand press the string laterally against the string...letting the string run down my arm or hand as I draw back...it will run down my palm to the tips of my fingers as I pull back. I basically curl slightly my fingers and the string ends up at the knuckles behind the tip of my fingers. The lateral pressure combined w the slight curving of my fingers, as I draw, makes the string end up where I want it. I hope thet helps :)
I know you think you have it but trust me you don't this is not a skill you learn over night or in a week and you will find this out soon enough. Keep up the practice
Thank you sensei, you have thought me that even a well defined muscular man can look like a highschool nerd. Never again will I believe muscles are everything. Allow me to return the favor sensei. - Get different glasses, these are extremely nerdy and square, they do not fit your face shape or volume. - Go bald but keep the beard, you are not fooling anyone, the patches of unevenly thicket hair make you look devoid of hygiene & style. - Your beard is long on the bottom but short on the sides, causing your face to be elongated. This goes badly with your head hair. It's time for you to catch up with your true self. Hell, with a bald head you would be not only NOT nerdy, but one of the coolest people ever, the glasses might even start to fit. It will take time getting used to, but you have the perfect head for it. Also with a beard that competent, you are SET good ser. Take it from a guy who gets referred to as Jaime Lannister every other day and whos nickname is Jezus in the gym. This is the best advice you would ever ignore.
Nice, im also shooting a similiar technic, but what you do when you draw your arrows out the quiver and the nocks arent automatically in line properly to nock?
I know I’m 2 years late, but I am having this SAME exact issue with standard arrows/nocks. Going full speed, I am not able to “arrange” the nocks that are FULLY out of line with the string. It feels like luck as to which nocks want to cooperate. And when I hit the ones that aren’t luckily lined up, it’s a dead stop. Trying new nocks and possibly 2 feather arrows to make it 100% lined up when I grab arrows.
Very good in the explanation...and you did a good point on showing how to properly n clearly...try shooting the arrows without the nock....a bit different but you might shoot it a bit faster n at ease without worrying too much on putting the bow string into the nock..it just have to be on the nock just to shoot...
Good technic, effective technic but Lars don't shoot like that, he is using his tumb to draw arrow. You can check, Lars Andersen: New Level of Archery video 4:06
That is actually not correct, he uses both slavic and thumbrelease. For much of his speed shooting as well as trickshooting he uses the slavic draw. It is even displayed in the thumbnail of "impossible archery".
