Larsson, like many 20th Century composers, later dabbled in neo-classicism and serialism. "God In Disguise", however, is a brilliant romantic cantata based on the ancient Greek myth of Apollo being cursed to appear as a mortal, having to work as a farmhand! The choral and orchestral writing are breathtaking, the two soloists excellent. The wonderful soprano, Elisabeth Soderstrom, I first came across in Boulez's 1969 recording of "Pelleas et Melisande" (still my favourite version). Thanks for this fine upload!
