This movie reflects the crisis of new comers migrants and refugees worldwide who end up in receiving countries and their majority populations which often criminalize them and do not accept them and never consider them as equal co citizens. The receiving countries, their politicians and majority populations often exploit migrants and refugees, and when soon or later social problems manifest themselves the problems are often being solely attributed to their ethnicity, religion or the countries they come from. The exploitative behaviour and ways receiving countries and their majority populations are treating migrants and refugees are often completely ignored. This film is made by a true group of geniuses, it contains the literature of a complete master programme on immigration, integration and ethnic studies. I have experienced/lived this film in real life. I experienced it as a high-educated academic specialized in immigration, integration, radicalization and political violence. I also experienced it being a migrant myself, with a good socio economic position in my country of origin, and despite my positive attitude toward the receiving country I was exposed to excessive lack of recognition, exclusion, discrimination and even harsh racism. This all happened to my in the country where I meanwhile have lived two thirds of my life. When I share my negative experiences with people they often say bugger off to where you come from! To my true-friends thanks you for your friendship, sympathy and the fact that you have always been there for me!

Incrível! Não sabia que haviam usado CGI nos cenários. Achei que fosse tudo real assim como no teatro

Why did they use green screens? They just could have used a black floor

Interesting. Who made the story board drawings btw? Von Trier himself?

It reminds me btw of the overhead shot in the denouement of Chabrol's 'Inspector Lavardin'. The most powerful scene of that movie actually.

whats the point of making the set green? im genuinely confused. they could have just made the set black. would that not have been cheaper and more convenient for the same exact outcome

They did indeed shoot on a very large sound stage with dark green floors with these chalk outlines... What we see here is the making of some special shots that require the green screen. Mostly to arrive, in postproduction, to a specific camera transition :)
