It seems so strange to see you in these surroundings, Vanessa. I, too, prefer simple surroundings, preferably with plenty of trees instead of buildings to look at and admire. I'm glad you had the experience, though, and sorry that you got sick shortly after returning home. Hoping you and your kids are on the mend and you get some of that snow you long for! I wish I could send you some of mine😃.
Thank you, Vanessa, for posting this. Having never been to Las Vegas myself, I appreciate your sharing your own experience with us. One thing I can say for sure, even though you were here just briefly, America was just a little bit better with you in it! We welcome you back anytime! Much love from the USA! ❤🤍💙
Thank you Vanessa for the awesome video it was nice to see your journey to Las Vegas so happy you had a great time stay safe and looking Forward to the next video 🦊🏆👍
Just watching I started feeling crowded and tense. That bird appeared and I literally relaxed. yes a tiny bit of nature, better than all the spectacle. Glad your plane was there and you had a good time.
I spent 4 days in Vegas back in 2012. I’m happy I visited just to see the place, but I’ll never go back. Everything is false, loud and dirty. Best part was a flight over the Grand Canyon. Give me Forests,Lakes and Mountains any day 🤘
🤣🤣Vegas is a crazy place for all of us. Don't get me started on the air lines, they take all the fun out of it. You did just fine young lady.... We love you, glad your home safe now. Love our channel.😊😊
Three days is all I can handle at one time in Las Vegas. Been there many, many times and it's a town that never sleeps and takes your rest away. Gambling, live shows, sight seeing and all the craziness going on will definitely take its toll on you. Like the wilderness, you have to learn how to enjoy time there, take it slow and don't let it get under your skin. Being a visitor for the first time, it must have been overwhelming and flying for the first time didn't make things any easier. Brave lady you are and so glad you made it to the USA, come back to see us again, maybe some of our "natural" wild areas like Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon. Enjoy!
What an exciting experience for you. I’m 57 and have only been on two planes flying short distances. What I would love is to ride a train across country next 😊
It looks like a fun trip. It seems overwhelming. With all of the people you’ve met through your videos, you might consider asking for a host from the U.S. It’s so much to learn all at once. That seems stressful. Happy to see you did it. It was brave to handle all of these firsts. Next time, think about our wilderness. There is so much. Thanks for sharing your trip!
That was a VERY well made video, Vanessa! Not just fun and interesting and personal and very real; it was a really good production, I felt. Thank you! (And I hope you and family are all well now.)
I sympathise with you. I went to Vegas ONE time when I was a young man and I have not, and I will not ever go back ! It is built of and for Glitz and to separate you from your money. Your way of life in the country is MUCH better for Body AND Soul !❤
Such a great video Vanessa, so sorry you had so much trouble, I have been to Las Vegas one time but i was with friends who had been there before so they told me what to do, when you were in Charlotte you were only about 60 Kilos from me i live in the country do not like bif cities and big crowds, I hope your flight back home was good will be watching for the next shot show video take care 👍
Excellent video. Very informative. That would have TOTALLY stressed me out. Too much activity!! Glad you survived it. I thought you would have scanned your breakfast to show us what you had. That 1 bird you filmed must have been the most "natural" thing you saw! Thanks for the tour!! Hard to believe Vegas was created out of a desert!
You had quite an experience during your trip to Las Vegas - Hopefully, you had more pleasant times than unpleasant ones - You will have many memories you will never forget.
Well I came in a little bit late but I backed it up and watched the whole thing. Sorry for your troubles. I enjoyed the video very much but I have to say that my idea of a vacation is a quiet Bavarian Alpine forest with wildflowers and eating a good meal cooked over the campfire. Love you so much!!
I think the little bird near the video ending was from Bavaria: when she learned that you were traveling so far, to Vegas, she thought "oh! I must go there and protect Vanessa, make sure she gets back home to all her forest friends!" And so you are back, Vanessa, and we are all so happy! Bye fer now from the wonderful Oregon coast, AL
Hi Vanessa, I drove from LA to Las Vegas, and spent a week in what I called fantasy land. It is a bit over whelming. I then drove back to LA and caught a flight to Frankfurt and from there made my way to Bavaria. I am so pleased to see you well again. Thanks for sharing. 🌈
Liked your Vegas video Vanessa wish something's would have went better for you. Hope you enjoyed your your trip. Have a great day Vanessa see you at your next video. 👍👍
Vanessa, could you imagine living in that environment everyday. I just saw you video because I was away from internet for a week.Love your channel. See ya back in the woods!
Unfortunately, police cannot be everywhere and if something happens to you there's a high chance no one will help you. That's why many us in America carry a firearm every day. Shot Show showcases many firearms for hunting, sporting, recreation and most importantly self defense. No one can defend you better than you. I'm glad that you had a good time and that you were safe. ❤️🇺🇸🇩🇪❤️🌹🌹🌹
You probably feel like a very small fish in a very large ocean, German country girl hits Las Vegas on a first time flight, and wondering the streets to see the sights is to say the least a massive shock but one you will never forget. Vegas looks a lot different than being in a desert so everything that is there was put / built there, even the green trees and the water robbed off the native Indians one way or the other. Good video Vanessa always interesting seeing what you get upto.
Nice to see you again, looking wonderful as ever! Interesting to find you in Vegas! Would have expected maybe the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming or the Black Hills of South Dakota (two of my favorite places during summertime). Then again, Vegas is certainly a different experience.. Hope all is well back home! Curtis
Thank you so much for your beautiful adventures, I hope you are doing well and I hope your family is doing well. Thank you for such a beautiful inspiration I wish you good luck . Best regards, Dennis You are a divine inspiration .
Hi Vanessa! Well i am pleased that you enjoyed your adventure to Las Vegas. Personally, it confirmed my opinion that Las Vegas is probably the last place on earth I would want to visit. The gun show is great and enjoyed all your videos!
I live in the US,in the country outside a small town. I would not even think about going to such a big city, way to much for me! I think some of it is neat but I wouldn't be able to handle so many people.Glad you had a good time,I will just enjoy through your video!
Hello Vanessa, I found your video beautiful, very interesting and educational, as I have never visited the USA, I'm used to the quiet life!, and you did seem a little out of our comfort zone! life too hectic!! I'm glad you had a great experience, but at the end of the day, there's no place like home!!!
I belong to a German club in Orange County, California. I was in Las Vegas on the 12th of January for that weekend for a German convention for Karneval. Every year, I wish Shot Show and our convention for Karneval would line up. I would have stayed to meet you. I'm a fan, and I love what you do. Oh, and there's a German club in Las Vegas. The next time you go, maybe I can put you in contact with them. In any case, I've been waiting to see your time there and how everything went for you. I really do enjoy watching your videos as a fellow bushcrafter.
Vegas always looks better at night, during the day it looks dirty and run down. If you gamble the slots it will get a hold on you and you will lose a lot of money. The deserts around Vegas are cool to see if you have the opportunity to check them out. Death Valley is not too far and is a beautiful place to visit. Bolder dam is impressive. I am about 8 hrs away in California by car I would have liked to have met you. Maybe next time. Glad you made it home safe.
Guten tag! Willkommen to USA. I hope "Stadt de Sunde" did not scare you. You were suffering "jet lag", adjusting to different time zone. The word you probably were looking for is "simple life" or "subsistence life", but enjoy luxury when you can. I hope you enjoyed a little sample of USA, there are many places in USA that would be more to your liking. Maybe someday you can come back and explore!
When you realize going to the bathroom is more important than looking out the window, you book your airplane tickets for the isle seat. If you travel a lot, you learn things like taking only carryon luggage, Bose noise cancelling headphones and pre-ordering food.
I know you came.for The SHOT, I was there too. Just know Vegas is a tourist trap and it exist to take every penny from you it can, been going there for business since the 80s. Air travel sucks anymore but it beats taking a ship just in time savings so, survival is the word of the day. Next time, I recommend going to Montana and Wyoming to see Glacier and Yellowstone. Also, vegas hotels are all partied in so they can't keep them nice.
Many hotel rooms exhibit wear and tear for sure, even expensive ones. Most of our travels here were in our travel trailer (caravan in Euro speak) with our own bed and bathroom 😊.
For that to be your first Flight it was a very Big one..... . Travel can be very stressful.... I have taken 100`s of Flights so I know a few tips...... But it is a bit too late now..... But Never change Money at the Airport is the First.... I know that you are not well Vanessa so Please get well soon... :-)) xxxxx
The time change you speak of is called Jet Lag. (It is what Americans call it when you travel across multiple time zones. It can take a day to hit you, and another day or 2 to adapt to it) Vegas is a show. (a fantasy land that lets people try to escape their reality for a while) Big rooms, but many have really outdated and worn furniture. (not always the cleanest either) It has changed a lot since 2020 - now they try to suck every dollar they can from you. Their operation changed from trying to treat guests well (feed them, give them shows, drinks, excitement etc so they keep wanting to come back a couple times each year) to trying to butcher the guests and get every last cent out of them, not caring if they ever return, because they have so many others willing to come in their place. I used to go to Vegas 4-6 times per year, for a week at a time. (all comped, including airfare) Now, I only go once a year at most. (air travel is no longer comped, but rooms and food is, along with $1k or so of gambling money) Just not the same anymore. The homeless population is horrible. You can not walk 100' outside without seeing someone on hard times. (It makes you feel like a jerk when you walk past them and drop $300 gambling....I always think I should have just given the money to those folks that are struggling so bad. Enjoy the visit - it can be overwhelming to someone on their first couple of visits.
I'm sorry that it was all such a hassle. For my part, I got lucky the one time I visisted Vegas, fifteen years ago: I was staying with my Mom, who lived there back then, so I didn't need to bother with a hotel.
I really wish I could have been there while you were there Vanessa! As someone who knows Vegas well, I would have been able to help you navigate around without all of the stress, and I'd get to show you a bunch of cool places that you never got to see and experience. I'm glad you got to experience what you did, even if it was just a small fraction of what Vegas has to offer. While the homeless people can be problematic at times, they aren't as bad as a lot of people make them out to be. In fact, you're far more likely to have problems with young guys who are drunk out of their minds because they think that's what they need to do while in Vegas. As for your trip, the security people at the airport sounded like they were all new and had no experience. Anyone who's been around the scanning equipment knows the difference between a book and a suspicious package. Sadly, there's little way to tell who's worked in that process for a long time and who's just started out. I hope your trip back to Germany went better. Take care and I hope your time in Vegas was positive overall for you! 😃
hey, you are here. it would be great if you visited some of the national parks wilderness. no bushcraft, of course. just lots of wilderness hiking. this country the place for it. :)
Las Vegas is such a contrast to your normal life, it must have been a bit of a shock to be in such a crowded , urban environment in which everything is artificial. Next time you visit the USA I hope you can spend time in some of our beautiful natural areas, which we have in abundance.
clothes get wrinkled in bags. the feeling of not being able to catch up on sleep is called jet lag. just american vernacular for you. great video. i love your glasses very nice looking on you.
Hi Vanessa, Vegas doesn't seem like it would a fun place to me. Might be better if you went with a friend. If you ever go again and want a companion. Give me a call. 😉
I flew to Latvia once. It was an experience. Always use your debit card for the best exchange rates. I think I received 57 Latti for $100 American. Ouch
I'm sorry 😔 your trip wasn't the best maybe next time you come to America hopefully it will be i want to tell you something you look great in your glasses but you always stay safe out there love from America ❤
It's interesting that one can become more lost in a hotel and all the casinos than in a dense forest! But I learned that they design it that way intentionally.
I see you made a connection flight. Which way did your route go? West to the eastside of America, then to Vegas, or eastward..? I don't know if it's still done, but in the 80's flying international w my late mom, she got travelers' checks from her bank. They're hassle free. I forgot to mention too, the x-Ray scan at airports can damage electronic equiptment, and destroy 35mm film. I hate being scrutinized like that, as if you had plastique explosives in your luggage, I'd look guilty as f!😅 Oh well, the experience gives you more experience.✌🏼
What did you ask for, the bridal suet? 😂 It sounds like you were suffering jet lag, sensory overload, and stress. I think one week of no hurry vacation would be good for you.
