That Route66 video was the one that really kicked off the planning for the NY>LA road trip I did last year. Every coffee and donut stop made me think of you and Pops!
Hey pops is back! Always love yalls road trip videos. You made a comment at the end about it being 2 hours of our time, but the long videos are my fav! Thanks for sharing with us as always.
Back in 2010 during the Shanghai world expo, the city of Shanghai did convert an old factory chimney to a thermometer, which is 4 time taller (541.3FT/165M) then the what so call "World's Tallest Thermometer" in Baker CA (134FT/41M)
Great video guys ! Once we were driving from LA to Vegas and the interstate was closed due to a bushfire. So we took a detour through Big Bear and then down to Barstow. Found a great place for lunch called Slash X Ranch Cafe. You should check it out !
@@slavetomasterjim Peggy Sues is also close to some of the cheaper gas stations on the way to Vegas. You can drive down that road (don't cross near the bridge) and it'll be the gas station where all the semi trucks are going to. Also Peggy Sues has a pretty cool gift shop!
I live in Vegas and my mom lives in LA, so we do this drive together a lot and look for new things every time. Enjoyed this video since it really reminds me of that. We also like Kelso Dunes (south of Baker), Rainbow Basin (close to Calico), Mormon Rocks (before you hit the San Bernardino Co.), and if you're up for more driving, Amboy crater, Pisgah crater, Bristol salt flats, etc., as my main interest is geology. I've even been out to the NASA/JPL DSN by Barstow which is a cool tour if they still do it. I am sure in other videos you've already visited these places though. Two places I have never visited but are interesting are Huell Howser's old volcano house and that old closed down water park. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures. (edit for typo)
I usually turn my Vegas road trips into a multi day event. Starting in Southern California driving to Julian, camping in anza borrego, then driving to Laughlin for a night. And finally on day 3 visit the Oatman donkeys then driving into Vegas.
Another classic road trip video from you both, thanks for making it. I remember watching the Route 66 video you made - it might even have been the first one of yours I'd ever seen - and really enjoyed that too. Recommended!
When my Dad and I would go on roadtrips we would stop at every border and he would pop a cool one and toast the border. I took pics of him doing it. He’s gone and those memories I hope I’ll never lose. Enjoy this time with your dad. You’re blessed to still have him. Love the videos.
If you can buy something at the World's Largest Thermometer gift shop - it helps pay the electric bill to keep the Thermometer lit. It went dark for like a decade due to the rising costs, thus the ownership transfer.
We always took that route back and fourth from Florida. I have so many pi’s of the sign from original days. My dad took my moms and to see everything. I’m 52 now and so greatly appreciate my dad taking us to see the country. I ran in the spot with rocks as a kid . I do miss the original state signs from back in the day. Today you can fly rite by ✨✌️💜
Calico is famous for its ghost sightings. A photo I took from the observation point - on a clear, sunny day - came out with a patch of mist floating center frame. I contend that it’s one of the departed former citizens, coming back to say Hi!
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia..thanks for the great videos..my favourites were Monument Valley and Route 66.. I would dearly love to drive those!
Hi👋🏽Josh… Hi👋🏽Pops… I’m glad to see that Josh is paying you back some of that money you spent on him😂by Enjoying his time with you on all these Road Trips. We all Love❤️Love❤️Love you both. TFS🙏🏽another Fabulous trip with us…and making me😀Smile.
Been enjoying your videos since discovering your channel a few days ago, but now that you are including sponsored ads I won't be watching anymore. Way to ruin a good thing!
You 2 make a great team, best son and dad duo. As well at Josh you're looking more and more like a man the more and more I see your videos. Thank you for your video content as your my number 1 channel
It was totally fine, nothing crazy. We were in one of the more renovated rooms I think but it was still pretty well priced and it was easy walk to Caesar’s and Bellagio to see the fountains so it worked for us
This video gave me a chuckle. My daughter and family lived in North Las Vegas and now in Pahrump. Have driven this road many times. I have never stopped at any of these. Drove to destination. You have shown me to slow the drive down, stop and see along the way. I will be driving it next week Thursday, I will be stopping at the Bottle ranch and Alien in Baker. We now take off 15 at Baker and head towards Death Valley on our way to Pahrump. I’ve been to Death Valley and Ash Meadows. Keep exploring, making the stops, and sharing your adventures with us. Go Pops.
That mountain in the background of the Calico picture at 11:18 - I live at the base of it. Elephant Mountain is what they call it now, old timer's called it Table Mountain.
Its not a stop but I remember being fascinated by the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility the first time I drove from SoCal to Vegas. Alien fresh is always my favorite stop on that drive.
This is the best drive in the United States. Especially if you take the detour off interstate to Joshua Tree. More times than not you’re the only one on the road and it’s a spiritual experience!
