LaserWash 4000 - Exxon Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 

I like the old laserwash 4000's, they usually do a great job on my vehicles. Great video :)

Sadly this Laserwash 4000 is no longer in use, I went to Memphis in 2022 and I swung by this car wash, now it’s full of garbage and is fully powered off, it’s awesome that you got this video if it before they pulled the plug on it

This is definitely one of my favorite car wash videos from you. 3 things 1: THAT LOOKED LIKE A REALLY OLD FUTURA SSA. It does look like a replacement is in consideration. 2: That 4000 looks like it might open back up soon! 3: There's an opportunity for you to be the first to film an Oasis XP. The Missouri Boulevard Robo replaced the Turbo with an XP. If you're ever near there, you have got to go through it!

It isn't spot free rinse that affects drying, and in most cases it isn't the blowers either. Instead it is the drying agent, every single car wash has to use it in order to dry a car. When a car wash doesn't dry a car it's typically because there is weakly diluted or no drying agent. Often times "clear coat" is drying agent. Sometimes it's the very last thing applied to the car. For your information, there is 2 main divisions of drying agent, hydrophilic (loves water) and hydrophobic (against water) and in most cases hydrophobic drying agent is the most effective because it causes the water to bead up and roll away (similar to rainx). But if there is enough drip space or time for water to slowly bleed or sheet off of the car hydrophilic drying agent would be ideal for less spotting. However drip space is mainly only available in certain tunnels.

The futura being broken is a MEGA oof since Futura systems are incredibly rare

Haha the quest to find a working wash! This laser wash really could use some work or a remodel.. looks really rundown and I wouldn't trust anything like that to wash my car in my opinion! Glad you made it out of there safe! Lol

Sad shame laserwash 4000 out of order and that system I couldn't see a name but at least you found a gas station with a working laserwash 4000 that did good

Sadly, most of those Vintage Laserwash 4000s are being replaced these days. Today I found out that one in Benson, AZ is being replaced with a more modern Laserwash. I like the Vintage ones better. The modern Laserwashes look all like cheap plastic.

I’m late but just defending the gas station here. The sign said “try our Laserwash” it did not say NEW on the sign.

There used to be a citgo wash next to this with a mark vii merchandizer with onboard dryers or some mark system. It is now a tire shop.

That's a really big disappointment that you didn't get to film the futura ssa that's a rare car wash we have a couple here in ottumwa Iowa and both are really old but they still work the one I like the most has been around since I was a kid and it's really awesome

Hopefully do a revisit maybe to see if this 4000 at this one is still there or the other 4000 you tried in this video before this to see if it works or if they replaced it and maybe do a revisit to this one to

On the Laserwash 4000's, what is with the metal bars hanging down?

LOL I live in that "area." Actually I live on the Highland Strip in the University area; but the area you were in was safe enough. From some of your videos it looks like you stay out around Wolfchase when in town, so midtown is a shock. Just found your channel while looking up Amtrak videos so now I've got another channel to binge watch!

This car wash didnot look that well maintained but despite the way it looked on the outside. It seemed to do a very good job. Remember, it's alway's the inside that counts :)

It would help if you should the results of the carwash. Is your car actually clean dry and shiny?

The spot free rinse wasn’t spot free water and the superior dryers were not doing a good job

what was the aftermath of that "spot free rinse" i took my sisters car to a old brush system her poor kia looked like it had broke out in hives when i got home

I think all 3 of those car washes all need to be upgraded. I would love to find the money to put in Ryko Soft Gloss Maxx 5 in all 3 of those. Wish Mark VII, PDQ and DS made 5 brush washes.

Here in southern California we don't have really any ,only 2 and the rest were removed :(
