I had Lasik about a year ago, and while my day vision is great, my night vision is very affected by halos and starbursts (not as bad as he described in this video but night driving is very uncomfortable). If you have large pupils, think twice before having Lasik. Overall I don't regret it, I hardly ever need to drive at night.
Lasik is fine for me as I work in a computer environment. The only issue I have is I can't see a starry night sky with billions. I only see a few thousand and the bulk of the milky way with my bare eyes.
Thanks for sharing. I had the same issue, but in my case it's after cataract surgery. The day vision is getting much clearer, but now I see starburst and frequent double-vision from light/white objects
Yet another case of Lasik leaving permanent side effects. If you end up needing more expensive custom corrective lenses immediately afterwords, what was even the point of Lasik in the first place?
@@kkevinj1 TRUE! Why only to see better and have problems with eyes! I did PRK and I have problem that my life gets worst .I was happy with my glasses .When I asked my doctor will I have problem after surgery she say no no .Well she lie .Now she only say could not know that this could happend! Ofc she knew, I read all about it now and i told people do not go to surgery!
I had lasik a month ago No problems so far Mild halos But i had no idea about its risks Nor side effects My doctor only said dry eyes and in 10 years there's a small chance your Vision won't be as sharp as gets after lasik Now I should've done my research because if I knew about those complications people are facing I wouldn't have done it I would've kept my glasses but thank God I'm doing well I'm using my lubricant eye drops religiously And If my vision decreases with time 1000% im not going to get another lasik I'll stick to glasses To anyone considering lasik Please do your research consult with 3 doctors at least make sure you're a candidate Then make the decision Personally if I knew about the risks I wouldn't have had it and I would've stick to my good old brown glasses To anyone facing lasik complications I'm sorry and I hope you get better But do not get another lasik It will get worst
You are so right. I made a huge mistake 8yrs ago when I did my Lasik. My vision improved greatly then. However, right now, my night vision is terrible with glasses. I wish I had done my research 8 yrs ago. I would never recommend this surgery to my worst enemy
@@olisandu4877 did it get worst right after surgery ?? Or you had it done again but then your night vision became terrible ?? Can you tell me about your night vision issues ? Aren't glasses supposed to help ??? And whatever you do Don't get another lasik surgery you will just make things worst
I saw Dr. G a few years ago and the lenses did really nothing to improve most of my symptoms at all. I have about a dozen different vision issues. I have the issues you have but they are the least bothersome of my issues. If those are the only issues you have then consider yourself super lucky.
....his cornea is now flat. That is why he cannot wear regular contacts and needs expensive scolera contacts...Lasik flattens the cornea and distorts it.
PRK both eyes. 22 years later I regret the worse irreversible damage I did to my eyes. Very very poor night vision and severe eye dryness. Nothing seems to help. Can't drive at night and low light spaces scare me.
I found this after searching for halo/starburst simulations online after having intra-ocular lens implants 5 weeks ago. It has been a disaster. Somehow I don't think it'll improve, there has been no improvement since the surgery. They're the multi-focal lenses. I have my 2nd post-op on October 20, so I'll see what they say. There would be NO way I could drive at night, I'd say mine is worse than this simulation. I'm 56 and live in Canada. At least I have my husband and son to drive me if I need to go anywhere at night, but...I need a paper bag on my head b/c the lights, the distortion, no depth perception, no way I can well enough to drive...had a 2 hour drive on single lane hwy the other night, (of course I was the passenger)_ busy road with my son driving and trying to ignore my panic, seemed like cars were coming at us in our lane alot...just terrible. These lenses were recommended to me to eliminate progressive lenses glasses. Always had 20/20 vision until the magic age of about 45.
Before Lasik, I could see halos when my glasses were off. Thats normal for some who's short sighted. When my glasses on, these halos were gone and my vision was sharp. After Lasic, my short sightedness was fixed, however there were very prominent halos. After sometime, my eyes developed, and my shortsightedness increased with it. I got prescription glasses, and to my surprise the halos were greatly reduced once I wore them. I have no idea how it happened. Maybe since my eyes developing, it somehow counteracted the halo effect. However, one thing for sure is that I am not going to go for a second lasic surgery. Currently I am at -2 in both eyes, and I am going to leave them that way. During the day, glasses are off, and I occassionally wear them at night in dark places where there are lots of flourecent lights, or when I am driving. I am NOT going to make the samw mistake twice, unless I am assured by a trusted well knonw doctor that this won't happen again.
I wish I had the mindset like yours. 3 years ago I stupidly agreed the stupid doctors advised and went for 2nd LASIK surgery without knowing that this will ruin my life. There is a saying "fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me"...so its definitely a *Shame on me* for allowing all these. things happen to me
@@DatG-sx1co Share your story and warn others. Wanting laser surgery was the worst decision of my life. Doctors lie about the risks. My name is Jaroslav Hlavín, premature, expanded limbus, scleratinization, expanded vascularization, astigmatism, right eye -5.0, -1,25 cyl 25 ax, left eye -5.75, - 0,5 cyl 175 ax. smaller eyes, dyplopia, strabism, and lazy eye on right eye. At first i get Relex Smile on right eye, durring the operation doctor stopped it because of "due to the localization of the entry incision too close to the limbus, the extraction of the lenticule was not performed." Then I waited 1 month after the eye healed and the doctor suggested femtoLasik, during the operation it was painful and the doctor said that I have the nerves closer to the area where he was working and they would give me more anesthesia but I had to endure it, after thats its disaster. They removed all my diopters, but left astigmatism and caused high order aberrations, probably damaged some nerves. I have all side effects like starbursts, halos, ghosting. double vision in left eye, bad night vision. My vision is cloudy with many floaters, not sharp, i dont focus on details. After few months my vision are greyish low contrast a have problem with shades of black and grey. According to doctor i have absolute vision and its considered as success operation...I thought of suicide. They butchered me in Lexum Prague - Czech Republic. Doctors who butchered me are MUDr. Věra Flemrová - her poor judgment during the examination led to the approval of the operation. Prof. MUDr. Martin Filipec, CSc. who proposed femtoLasik after the unsuccessful Relex Smile surgery, and MUDr. Filip Brázda who performed both operations.
@@FordzyS I am so sorry to hear about your condition. But you are strong enough to make noise about these issues. Many patients get so helpless and keep mum. People like you are angels to others. After going through your story, I have decided to scrap my plans to get Contura surgery. It’s another refractive surgery just like LASIK. Thank you so much buddy. I hope and pray for your eyesight. It will definitely improve as we are having medical innovations. Just be patient.
Dear Team, Thanks for posting such wondeful video. Actually I am having such issues, after 3 sitting Lasik in bothy eyes and one injection in right eyes, my vision specially in sun light and night decreased. Now at night my vision is not focused and not able to recognise the roads and vehicle while driving. So pl tell me whether Lasik fitment for me will work or not. To inform you, I not a local resident and living in Asian countries.
WHO should bann Laser from the world...cornea damaged by Lazic is permanent and irreparable..after 6 years your corny will grow up to 20% and your complications will subside...
i went with the Bates Method. The diet and habits have improved my night vision dramatically. It takes a lot of discipline to adhere to the Bates Method. The rewards are there!
Hello i can't focus with my left eye after my ladik laser and it was done one month before but when i look a very small hole i can see very clear what to do now plz help🙏
How is ur vision now ? I was also thinking to get lasik..My eyes sights are -4.5 I went for initial screening..Dr said after lasik u will face scattered vision at night and u will need to wear glasses for shortsighted ness o.5 or 1..now m confused should I go for it or not

No, it made worse, causing diplopia..unable to correct with glasses...suffering here..only resolve maybe schelaral lenses..( tons of money @ )..for eye drops now.. .or a l.r.i. to loosen cornea...no laser , I suffered So depressed.. But I can't give up... Ahhhhhhhh

AND HOW ABOUT SPEAKING WITH KNOWLEDGE,AS YOU APPEAR ANGRY,AND ACCUSE ME OF IGNORANCE...just wear glasses and be happy with that..WARNING SIR
Karanraj Churiwala i tried everything spent thousands of dollars, travel the world, but NONE works. well this lens actually kinda promising but the moment i found this doctor on the internet i already got used to this vision. so maybe later when i visit texas i will stop by.
Buddy relax definitely not billions Second 95% of people who have had lasik are very satisfied with the results no regrets Because they did their exams by their doctor not just one doctor multiple doctors But you rarely see them talk about it because theres nothing to complain about Now of cource like any other surgery it has risks and side effects Unfortunately some patients are suffering from this surgery and I hope they get better My advise to anyone considering lasik To do their research about the risks side effects and make sure to consult with multiple doctors To make sure they can get lasik without any issue If you don't feel like glasses is annoying you don't get lasik stick with em and you will be fine There are so many myths about lasik that have been debunked My sister had lasik 20 years ago and shes doing fine thank God!
Hello can please someone read this message i have this vision that like when i look at some thing that is reflecting light from a light buld i see this like double vision thats like a blue coloured shadow please someone tell me whats happening to me it only happens at night I get so terrified when ever i see the blue shadow at night The double blue vision is on top of the original thing im looking at and i keep thinking to my self if this is permanent. I haven't told to my parent's about this issue cause im really scared can someone please reply to this i really need someone to talk with this problem. Im still looking at the internet to find whats this problem with my eye is called and I've only found one thats roughly similar its named "Cataracts" i dont know if that spelling is right Sorry if my english is bad. Im not from America im from philippines
To go for LASIK just to take another risk of getting permanent night vision problem and then buying another even more expensive pair of lenses? I guess I'll just stick back to my good old glasses then.
Yes I got smile eye surgery little over 2mo this and now can seeat night and I have "driving glasses at night" left eye apparently now has to be redone because of astigmatism lol
I'm having the same issue, after Lasik i have halos and glares and its awful. Problem is i got Lasik because i couldn't wear contact lenses because my eyes were to dry, so yeah this solution wouldn't work for me either
Its extremely sad that people take non medically esential risks for vanity reasons. Wearing glasses and contact lenses is much safer than taking a risk on doing surgery on your eyes. With all surgery, there is always risk, no matter how minor or major.
My vanity, ruined my vision...be happy with glasses..and yourself Why did I do this? I trusted a dr...who said the risks in the form I signed was outdated and there was none..and I would see more better, with no glassez...what a fraud...preying on my Unhappy thick lenses and my apperance.. Ahhhhhhh
