While Eddie, a teenaged friend of Ranger Corey's, is training his pigeon near an abandoned mine for racing events, he accidentally falls down the mineshaft. His pigeon races back to Ranger Corey and Lassie to lead them back the crumbling mineshaft for a daring rescue.
TRIVIA: Robert Leroy "Bobby" Diamond (born 1943) was a child star and young-adult actor in the 1950s through the early 1970s. He is best remembered for his role in in the television sitcom series "Dobbie Gillis", and the TV western "Fury" as Joey, the friend of the black stallion Fury. HIs final TV appearance was in 1990. He subsequently retired from acting to pursue a career in law.
