Ruth and Timmy and Lassie visit the Grand Canyon as part of Ruth's volunteering with the "See America First" campaign. While at the canyon Timmy meets a blind pianist who helps Timmy when he gets caught on a cliff and is too frightened to turn back. Lassie, of course, is the one that rescues Timmy, redeeming her earlier behavior when she frightened the mules used for the ride down into the canyon. This is the opening episode of Season 8. Paul is not in this episode.
