Today was a very special fishing day as it was my first day back fishing out for nearly two months. If you're an angler you'll understand the frustration of not being able to fish and the euphoria of your first time back out again. Unfortunately this will be rather short lived as I'll explain in the video. Not going to be back out on the bank, boat or kayak for a while.
The day couldn't have been better, the loch setting was bliss and wonderful just to be outside. A most welcome Rainbow Trout made my day. The sun put in an appearance and it really did feel like we may have slowly moved into Spring although the distant mountains were still capped with snow.
Hopefully you enjoy joining me on this adventure.

Well done my friend! 🤝 It’s a pleasure to watch you out fishing again and to be honest, a relief after the trauma of “that day”!! What a cracking Rainbow as a reward for your efforts under the circumstances as well mate 👏 No doubt we will film “Part 3, You only live twice” in the summer when you’re better mate. I'm trying to keep off the pain killers as i don't like pill popping. But sometimes needs must. Sympathies on your shoulder pains - hope you can get it fixed.

Great news that you got a day out, but sorry to hear about your op. Best wishes for a rapid and full recovery. Plenty of fishing to enjoy once you recover, just be patient, follow any advice you get, and it'll be worth the wait.

Hi Mat, I had a wonderful day fishing the two lochs, I can see myself visiting them more frequently when I'm back up and running. The Angling Association I have joined also has some beats on the River Dee for Salmon fishing. I got a secondhand rod a few weeks ago and am looking forward to trying that out. Phil

Hi Phil, smashing you got a fish with a bad shoulder. You won’t believe this but Lainy and I sat down together and watched your video. You should be very privileged as she’s never watched one of mine. All I got from her was where’s Dee😂😂😂. Hope the surgery goes well mate and you make a speedy recovery🤞

Thanks Douglas. I'm pleased you both enjoyed the video. There are a lot of wild Deer in those woods and I felt I probably wouldn't have been able to control Dee and manage to fish and film. Dee's doing just fine and is as mad as ever. Phil.

Hi Tommo, yes being well looked after and given orders not to over do things. Bit of a set back as I've got to wear a sling and off the road again for a few weeks but it's best in long term.

The Op was okay and I'm hopefully on the mend. Hope you've managed to identify the problem and have a plan to fix it. Weather isn't good for getting out so you've time to do a proper repair ready for the season.

@@anotherangleUK good to hear, you’ll be flinging leads in no time! The problem was exactly what you said, the anchor well drain pipe leaking i re sealed it today, weather not been to bad to launch a boat at lossie the last few days, just been to busy. Itching to get out and put some fishing in

Thanks Pete, I was well looked after by a great NHS team. I'm being looked after well at home and am under orders to take it easy for a while. The fish at the loch are waiting for me and growing bigger the longer it takes.😎

Thanks. As it was the last session for a while I think I spent more time just enjoying myself than serious fishing. Hopefully back on bank soon, I've got two places on the Aberdeenshire where I'm going to target Sea Trout. Phil.

Idyllic spot there Phil. Absolutely lovely and no other people about too!!! My favouriten fresh water fish too!!! Brings back memories of my uncle always bringing a few with him when he visited. The camera picture was excellent too. Did you use the Gopro for this one or another camera? I thought it was 4K until I saw the settings.

Thanks Dave, I do love these secluded little lochs or lochans. Most of the filming was done with the GoPro hero 7 Black and an external Hollyland microphone. The GoPro was set at 1080p 30fps The clip of the Toad was on the iPhone at 4k as it was easier to grab than getting the GoPro off the tripod.
