You could hear Isaiah’s voice tremble when he said “I’m trying” as a way to show he didn’t want to argue and then buddy flipped on him and that’s where the conversation went bad
While you read the player correctly, imo you completely fumbled the context for Buddy in this. The dude just told him in a nicer longer way that there's no point in stretching this injury out. The player responded with a classic irrelevant answer. First off he claimed that he wasn't a robot as if Buddy was telling him to tough it out. Second of all he hit his coach with the hood Ebonics. Grown black men with their shit hates such talk and I can garantee coaches don't like it.. Old school coaches especially hate that kind of lingo, Black America didn't talk like that until the mid to late 2000s. Which imo is why Buddy went back. Most modern coaches or men would make the person backtrack. Buddy went 1980s where coaches were still old school not explaining shit to their team. If one of their player's acts up, zero explanation, they tell you to go run or do suicides until they puke. If you want to talk like a man, than expect to be treated like it.. Classic tactic of calling someone's bluff, you see it all over in the streets or bars. Often people will say speak up.. Buddy took that to a 5.0 lol
@@jamesrojas2770 yes i knew about that, thats why I think its a shame, specially since they were champions the season after that, that goes to show he was right about the cameras being a distraction
Indy is like a parody to the Mississippi community college series. I thought Indy was some inside joke that I never understood. The Indy player's constantly mocked their head coach. The head coach on those series was like a South Park character.
Because they’re distracting his players, tbh I believe that it probably would’ve been better for players like Ronald Ollie if they weren’t on the show to begin with
Don King The school agreed to do the show b/c it’s a good way to create revenue for the school, they didn’t need buddy’s approval b/c he works for the school. I’m not saying that Buddy didn’t know that it would be a problem b/c obviously he knew how problematic it would be for the team. I’m saying that I don’t think Buddy ever planned on having a reality tv camera crew following his team around, and I don’t think he would’ve agreed to the show if they had approached him, but b/c the school wanted to do it and the school was willing to provide them with that much access to the team, he had no choice but to say yes, otherwise they probably would’ve fired him, and replaced him with a coach who was willing to do the show.
Don King Buddy hates the camera crew b/c by recording everything that goes on, they make his job that much harder. He’s trying to mold these guys into men, but the players are all so caught up in the show that they stopped paying attention to what really matters
All coach said was “you’re limping I’m not about to play you while you’re hurt” Basically coach didn’t wanna risk a major injury. Sit down rn and heal. That’s fine. They know what you can do. But if you get a serious injury then the next topic of discussion is going to be “how will be bounce back” “will he ever be the same player again” Yo avoid all of that let’s just rest and heal. Don’t get mad at the coach for looking out for your future in the league. You already got people looking at you. Don’t change the way they look at you man Listen to your coach he wants what’s best for you But the disrespect ain’t about to fly Just stop being selfish and listen to your coach You’re going to make things worse for yourself. That’s why I love sports. The coaches that give a damn about you on and off the field will look out for you especially when they understand you and your situation
Coach told him to shut up and he whines too much when he said he was trying he’ll you not bouta talk to me like I’m a little girl either he’s a grown man he’s not gonna be some shitty coach’s bitch
you should hold yourself to the same standard as your players...otherwise, you are a puppet in my eyes. Coaches all over this country tell players to "control what they can" and "focus on the little things", yet don't know the first thing about practice planning or game planning. if you watched the entire series, the coach is a hypocritical clown that continually contradicts himself in from of cameras, referees, parents, and his students. and that clown unfortunately has the keys to this student-athlete future. im all for the tough guy bad cop mindset needed to help our youth see adversity, but this dude is not that...what a world. would never send my kid to his school. never in a million years... with that said, my opinion is just one in 7 billion on this planet. one love.
@@michellebaca1024 These are guys that have already made significant mistakes that put them in the position they are in. Buddy also didn't verbally abuse him, he talked back and that is unacceptable.
@@pawrestlingchamp But kicking at the cameraman cause you're having a temper tantrum like a little kid is fine. Coach can't take someone talking back but some dude holding a camera is supposed to take a camera getting kicked into his face because he's doing his job. That's bullshit.
Idk why people don’t like him yeah he can be a little more softer on the kids off the field but on the field and in the locker room at half time that’s all football coaches to be honest with you this sport isn’t made for soft people it just isn’t it maybe look all nice on game days and on tv but during Monday and Friday it’s a different story.
I agree the coaches who yelled at me and were tuff on me were my favorite, they motivated me. But honestly buddy just has a little man complex, he really called him “buddy” then got pissed he called him “bro” unnecessary dick measuring contest he held in his head. Childish. Watch the newest season of last Chance u that’s a great coach
That coach is a SHIT ASS COACH. Idk why anyone would be backing the coach in this situation!! He said "im not your friend, BRO" ... That is pure disrespect when it's not at all needed. Then the coach had the nerve to say it was the student's fault for taking it there. My white racist dad always called every black person "bro," and I hated that shit. It's 100% a racist connotation when he put that emphasis on "BRO"
Y’all can say what you want about Buddy, but that’s the behavior of a real leader. When he was arguing with that player, he made it clear that he is doing what he believes is best for that players future, both on and off the field. Buddy never raised his voice, he never made it personal, he quickly diffused the situation, and in the heat of the moment, he pointed out to that player that this was the behavior problem that needed to change, b/c that player started lashing out at people who had his best interests at heart, which is a common mistake that young men make.
Buddy also daid he was faking hus sprained ankle to get attention. Buddy said last year he got s lot of attention from being hurt that now he’s faking he’s hurt to have that happen again. These guys don’t respect this coach.
How was he talking back to the coach, literally said he was trying and Buddy out here saying he is whining. Role and responsibility of a coach is to be adaptable/manage situations like this. Simply walk away it wasnt like the player was abusing or disrespecting him it was just a heated discussion where they clashed.
This guy had no respect from his players. There’s a difference between being a leader who pushes his players hard and makes them uncomfortable, but better and a coach who is just verbally abusive because he can’t control his emotions.
@@Hunter_C0312 I’m am not even close to being soft, but I am disappointed that you’re someone that doesn’t understand leadership or coaching. It’s not even up for debate with this guy. He even admitted he was disgusted by his own actions that season. I won’t even waste my time trying to help you understand. I am willing to bet you wouldn’t last a week playing for someone who knows how to really break, but discipline and prepare his players.
@@Hunter_C0312 I definitely don’t know you, but you tell me a lot about you when you say that I’m soft for feeling the way I do about a guy who admitted he was disgusted with the way he acted during the season he was filmed.
Buddy should be a prison guard! He calls the boys names, hits below the belt,,actually abuses them. Then he said he’s praying and he’s looking at the Bible and he wants to change, then he’s with his friends and he said I’m so sick of everybody saying cussing and whining about me. He doesn’t want to change! I feel so sorry for those boys! Yeah and they all hate him! I can’t believe they keep them there it’s all about money and because the boys win not because of him but because of their talent then they keep him in as the coach. I can’t stand the man! I think people are well aware the mom said it on the documentary if you’re not gonna make a positive impact on these Young man’s life what’s it all for? It’s for that ring his glove compartment!!!
