Did you had any agreement. Because my cousin brother lives mumbai on a rented house they have an agreement which they renew after the agreement is over does people follow this agreement method if you have an agreement then you can file a complaint

Sign tenancy Agreement!

How much was ur Rent per month?? Dint u know that painting charges we ll b deducted while ur vacating..? And agreement is made for every 11 months once oly..If u wish to continue u can renew the agreement n stay or else leave the place ... 11 months means u have completed minimum agreement period n u sud pay the charges..

@@Guhayavarman Of course yes painting charges Rs 1 month Rent will b deducted from the deposit at the time of vacating .. Clause sud b mentioned in the agreement..If it is painted cleaned n given while tenant is taking the position...If it is not painted 15days rent must b deducted..To paint n clean the house coz tenant would have used n made it dirty.. one month notice sud b served before vacating then n der immediately u can't vacate or else notice period rent amount must be deducted balance Rent + EB bill ( avg amount) if the bill the yet to come + painting charges + if any damages done all these r must..

Has happened multiple times to us in coimbatore. Just moved house last week and after retaining our advance for one whole week and not contacting us though we had mentioned we need it the day we take away all our things. Then they took away 12.5k for painting and returned the rest. They tried to take away money for other wear and tear which had already been there and which we had lived with, but because we were quite aware what these frauds are capable of, we absolutely did not relent and talked our way out of it. These are people we highly respected until the day we sat there seeing them making a list of repairs that was not there when we left. After moving to covai in the past 7 years weve always rented and have seen worse experiences than this. On the contrary i have also seen my dad who has never retained money even for painting but only took money for major repairs if any from his tenents. Of course not everyone are the same but ive had only bad experiences here. Theyll absolutely invent all reasons to take the whole of your advance amount.
