Today is the last day of Arriva London South operating the 157. Tomorrow, the route will pass back to London General operating from Merton (AL) garage temporarily using existing Enviro 400s and Wright Gemini 2 Volvo B9TLs. Brand new Enviro 400 City EVs will be introduced sometime next year.
Got a journey between Selhurst and Anerley, the driver was actually decent and managed to get the full route done in no more than 63 mins and it wasn’t as busy when I got it. The unfortunate loss for Arriva brings an end to Ts and diesel allocated routes at Norwood. From 59 regs new to N for route 133, various 60 regs that came across DX and 61 reg Ts from DT which will likely return there. The 157 is quite a long and tricky route to run but Arriva have done well on it over the years.
