"Expertly" lying, saying Last Epoch launched with Leaderboards when it didn't have them for over 4 years. The game launched in 2019 and didn't add leaderboards until 2023. Raxx is not the person you should look to for expert research, he's just a popular streamer that wants to pander.
Just ignore him hes for some reason mad he bought into something that warns you in clear lines 7 times in bold print that its early access and what early access is @@MrD3STR03R
@@ruibarian5187Has been in beta all this time. If you don't appreciate the video or the streamer what are you doing here? Just pass and move on to something else atention seeker
First of all thank you for your informative, no-filler content. Secondly... Wow, it's actually kind of alien having a game that actually cares about what players want and their choices, after being neglected for so long by other games. I feel like a child again, I almost teared up when playing this game bro. Mad respect to the team for that made this game, and I hope they break sale records because they deserve it.
I like the crafting system, coupled with the loot filter, because say you like crit, crit damage, fire damage, and attack speed, any item with these affixes is inherently valuable because you can build up very useful shards to use on stronger items later, and use the filter to pick up only those useful items. Sick idea.
Amazing guide, both information and delivery wise. Raxx, if you were a teacher I'd probably never miss any off your classes, I watched the whole thing with a huge smiler on my face :) I tell you enjoy this game a lot by the excitement in your voice, which makes me really happy!
Even though I already knew most of what you presented, I just HAD to watch the whole thing. Extremely well done! Concise, clear, useful advice for every part of the game, I think many people might like this video format better than a “review” to actually know what the game is like. GG
I watched a ton of LE guides and this is by far the most comprehensive and friendliest one out there. You are really the best Raxx. Thanks as always cheers 😊
As a long time, experienced PoE player, I learned a lot from the PoE Beginner's Guide, and a ton more from the mapping guide. I know so much less about Last Epoch, and I am extremely excited to sit here and have you explain this game to me the same as you did PoE. In the friendliest viewer to creator way, I really do love and appreciate you Raxx.
Found you cus of Asmon - this guide was the best thing I've found for getting into Last Epoch!!!! I did a few other guides but I walked away not feeling like I had a grasp, but now I feel much more confident!
You have such a great way of explaining things simply, and I love that your videos aren’t just ‘hey look at this amazing endgame build with 7 uniques’. Thanks for catering to us plebs as well!
I've done nothing but make my own builds, and it's fun. Just requires a bit of forethought to look at each ability and see what complements one another. Will i don't extreme content or heavily dip into end game, but I'm having fun and going at a slow pace, playing every now and then. The Tooltips are a great help, as well as concise and simple modifiers. Easily knowing what scales with what is such a lovely feature. This may be my favourite ARPG so far as a casual-intermediate enjoyer of the genre. I just started making a death seal character without knowing anything about guides or whatever, and it's a really fun type of character to make work especially after finding armour that takes away health and generates ward. So easy to connect the dots and then pick nodes that convert ward into damage when triggering deathseal, etc. The game gives me everything I feel like I'd need to cross that rubicon of really blasting.
I just started last week, so much more fun than D4, and more accessible than PoE as you stated. I'm definitely going to roll a falconer next week, the preview for that looked awesome! Thanks for making this! When I get more free time (I'm a teacher), I'll have to check out your PoE guide or maybe wait till PoE 2.
I am so glad my Lightning Bug build lives on. It is SO fun and strong. Geeat breakdown. There were some minor things that you forgot to mention, but most of them are very intuitive so ppl should be able to figure them out fairly quickly
This is a class video, thanks so much for making it! Your flow and style is exactly what I was looking for and as a newcomer to the genre it's a really clear and plain way of explaining things that otherwise blag my head a bit at the minute 👍
I already put something like 70 hours into Last Epoch and i can say it feels really good. I usually stop after a couple monoliths and try a new class / mastery. The fact that you can't change masteries feels kinda bad, but besides that the game is fine. As people say, it smoothly fills the gap between PoE and Diablo.
Each Mastery Class also has its own unique skill that only can be used if you spec into said mastery. Also for skills, as you level them up for example you wish to change out a level 20 skill, if you go back to that skill later it will always be level 10, or if it was level 8 when you removed it, it will be locked at level 4, etc...
The side-quest overview on the world map is a big deal for me. I remember my first experience with PoE being that I had to keep a campaign guide open in browser to tab back and forth to so that I wouldn’t miss out on skill points (or whatever they’re called) from optional quests. I didn’t even finish the campaign or try the game again after that.
Great guide. Been watching a few, especially mcfluffin's university series. I think rune of shattering needs an overhaul. I don't understand needing a currency to dismantle items. If you want it to cost gold that's fine, just make it an automatic thing in your inventory or at a vendor/blacksmith in town and have it consume the item and gold. Rune of ascendance TLDR from the blog, item level doesn't matter only base type but it won't upgrade to a boss specific unique. Also it's a rarer chance of transforming into rarer items.
I love this game since it allow me to see all the abilities from the game and with an easy description too... best yet I can't try different things in less time than poe would take.
Hey Rax, love your content, but just want to say this video has been top notch. Loving Last Epoch already and this has really helped fill in some knowledge gaps!!
Brilliant guide for beginners and in my case the not so beginning beginners who still hadn't grasped things like the loot filter and the crafting system. Hit that like and sub as a thanks for the effort.
Bought this for $10 about five years ago!! As far as using guides etc I would suggest strongly that you do not use one for you first play through (unless you just get stuck). Then if you want to follow one, you can do it on your next play through. You just need to spend a few minutes going over all the passive and and skill trees to see what synergies are applicable to your build choice.
Hey Raxx... I noticed you mention your Ulnar nerve in your right arm wasn't working. I had that same issue in both arms, both arms had complete numbness in my pinky and half of my ring fingers on both sides, they did an EMG on both my arms and found that the ulnar nerves in both arms were not conducting electric at the right speed and they ended up doing a surgery on both sides at the elbow, to decompress the ulnar nerve at the elbow. After the surgery I was able to feel much better with my pinky/ring fingers again almost immediately, and had about 6 weeks of recovery per arm before i could lift/use the arm again. If you haven't looked into it i would recommend based on my experience having them check it out and possibly repair the issue with a surgery. I always assumed it had to do with the amount of gaming (18 hours a day for months/years at a time) I did, and the doctor didn't think it was related but hearing you have the same issue with how much you game and the style of games you play like me, i think its definately a lot more likely it is related to the hardcore gaming as well.
pretty cool ideal to allow players to slam an item onto a legendary item, great idea, Slamming items, The Loot Filter, and the Crafting system and crafting potential on items are the best systems of any ARPG i ever seen, hands down
Theory crafting as a new player is definitely possible! Im not sure if im supposed to be stronger right now but currently around 65 (totem primalist) and im having a blast with lightning and ice. Not too hard but not too easy either 👌🏽
The quality of this video is insane. I’m about 120 hours in and wish I knew lots of these things at hour 10. The great thing is, this game is so easy to pick up and play. At 1.0 I’m using no guides and just the knowledge I have until around level 75.
normally i therocraft my self and at some point i look for discussions / guides that have the same theory but maybe archived differently and optimize/try stuff
what i have learned so far from the video is that we cry when we craft things. Good, cause you always need something to bring you down from the godlike killing machine you will become. 👍
Brother, your vid sold me to buy this game!! I love you guide, so direct to the paint and your talking pacw felt good on my ear. Do you have an affiliate link to buy the game through you?
Thank you Rax for this indepth guide. It gives a very good first look and helps to answer all of the questions that a new player has at the beginning of the game. I'm looking forward to this and I really reaaally hope this game doesn't turn out to be such a disappointment like Diablo4! Thx for the work that you put in this guide :-)
Hey, Raxx! Could you please make a D3 to LE comparison video? Especially the gameplay, because I really like how D3 played and then D4 didnt feel good to me, so before buying yet another ARPG I think it would be great for everyone to have this comparison beforehand.
Was thinking about picking up the game. This video is freaking fantastic man, really appreciate it. Def want to play it now. Will also sub and go visit the website.
I'm sure this is an awesome beginners guide as all of your guides are, but I'm not going to watch this one. I want to try to experience this game as blind as I can. Maybe capture some of that early days d2 feeling I had back in middle school. Keep up the great content rax. I'll probably come back to this in a few weeks.
My favorite part of this game is it just feels like common sense. In diablo 4 you have “damage when you are getting tickled by your mother on a friday afternoon” EVERYWHERE. Last epoch is simply “minion damage up, melee damage up, elemental damage up, crit chance up. Even the skill trees. Not that diablo is complicated AT ALL. But you get 2 boring options to modify your skill. LE, BOOM atleast 20+ ways to use the same skill.
This is the best guide I’ve seen for the game. I’m considering buying the game, but I have a disability; I need to use a controller. Is the controller support decent? Thanks.
In your email if your doing this through a phone. Make sure to view it with desktop view engaged and it cost me $8.09. Cad. It's easy to add a 1 month subscription. And it's easy to copy and paste that code into the text box. Refresh the screen after submitting. Good luck too all. That tower looks sick!! Thanks Raxx
I have also noticed that gear does not drop equally. For example my highest level character is 70 necromancer. By level 70 no unique bow has dropped for me. But when I started a mage for example the rares start dropping. Same for big 2h weapons, they seem to drop more offten on primalist and sentinel.
The game is fantastic and I haven't had this much fun blasting in long time....HOWEVER my gameplay is absolutely plagued with bugs. Very frequently I get invisible enemies dropping no loot and infinite load screens and stuck in the middle of character animations. And i do mean very frequently and only way to fix it is to relog, which essentially resets zone/map progress if there is no waypoint nearby. Super fun game when it's working correctly but holy shit has it been a struggle to actually enjoy...
I would warn on builds, a lot of them will stall out at empowered, level 100 content. You'll have to know where certain things drop and you'll probably want to follow a build to get as much defense to dps as you can. before that it doesn't matter though. Then again the level 100 game sort of gets repetitive too so not everyone sticks around. I would at the very least maybe look up the top 6 builds for your class and at least keep the idols related to it. Idols and maybe the neck are sort of the harder thing to get good rolls on
Act 8 has one of the better boss fights I've played in a while. Nothing earth shattering. It was just a lot of fun. Game is really quite good for a filthy sweatless casual.
Stash system and inventory management seems very good , but here is minor gripe - why do we need a button to transfer crafting items? Why those items don't transfer on auto? Seems like a pointless button, no?
Awesome guide, just a question, in the item factions, when you say trade, is it with other players? like you can do in POE? or is it going to be some kind of single player mechanic?
Just a suggestion for new players: Start off your filters with a simple Hide items. Its gona hide EVERYTHING. And then you simply add rules for items you want to see. ***Make sure you leave the hide all rule at the bottom**
I was one of the few that bought this game in its EARLY stages about like idk 2-3 maybe even 4 years ago, to say its came a long way would be a absolute understatement. 10000% Worth my 35$ Purchase all those years ago, game has become the "Big 3" ARPGs and Im all here for it, cant wait to see what they do for the future of the game, its got great Devs.
Really good beginner's guide Raxx. I've watched a lot of Raxx (and DM) playing LE and it seems like a really fun game and I will be getting it, but I have to wait until I rebuild my gaming budget some time in 2025 (I regret splurging on the pre-order of D4 last year and burning all of my 2023 and 2024 gaming budget).
I love that I got the game for free. I was there from the beginning, ive contributed to the early bug fixing. And now all my friends have to spend money while my broke ass can still play the game XD
played back in early 23, nice refresher for 1.0 release, any chance as we go into 1.0 you could do a video on branching into empowered? last time i played normal mono's was a cake walk but empowered was a struggle even with crafting. I ended up needing certain uniques to move forward but was not able to do the mono i needed on empowered to get said unique. Maybe it was a bad guide? maybe the new AH would have helped? but grinding away at normals trying to get what i needed at a reduced rate put me off the game until its release. Thanks man!
Imo. Gambling should be something for a character that is very efficient in gold farming. Not something that everybody just does to dump money. All content should have purpose or meaning for whatever your character is good at. A gold farm character could gamble while a mats farming character could craft. Everyone should be able to do all content but you should be able to focus on specific areas for proffit. This is good for seasonal content since you can go in each season with a different mindset. This season im gona target farm gold and get rich from gambling. Next season im gona try crafting stuff. Next season im gona farm high end boss materials or w/e.
Godd stuff, my only gripe with the game (although kinda big for me personally) is that the combat just feels off. It's hard to pinpoint exactly but compared to POE or D4 it is more clunky/ sluggish imo.
I avoided this game like the plague and I don't mind telling you it was a miistake. LE is an outstanding title and in many ways it has changed and will change the way we see ARPG's for a very long time.
hell yeah cannot wait and sorry Raxx I don't quite believe you when you say you can buy 200 stash tabs no way is the technology that good like in Diablo4 💀💀
