Utah's Henry Mountains are part of the Last Explored Region of the Lower 48 States.
Lessons Learned Outdoors - Bringing Flavor And Perspective To Life.
A few years ago I stood on top of Mt. Ellen, the highest peak on the Henry Mountains and gazed at the surrounding destinations that made up 360 degrees on the compass. As I looked around me I could see all the destinations I had been, and could recall the experiences I had at each of these locations.
This video takes us all on a brief journey of the many scenic destinations that surround Utah's Henry Mountains, and through short stories and illustrations, identifies the value of better understanding the world around us.
Destinations surrounding the Henry Mountains are Bryce Canyon National Park, Boulder Mountain, Thousand Lakes Mountain, The San Rafael Swell, Utah's Moonscape and Marscape (Bentonite Hills), Canyonlands National Park, The Dirty Devil River, Lake Powell (Glen Canyon) and more.
A specific encounter by a park ranger with a mountain lion is recounted here, so watch this brief video to learn more.

That would be so spooky! I can't imagine how bland life would be if we didn't get to be outdoors, take in a moment, and engage with the people we love - totally salts of life!

Haha, that might have been me. It was an owl researcher in the park, my husband is a Ranger, but not the researcher(a peer/coworker and friend). It was the Chimney Rock parking area after he’d been in Spring Canyon.

Thanks Rachel. However it all transpired, it was enough of a story to keep me overly attentive that night.

Uhhhh.... you do know that Alaska is part of the Continental United States, right? And it is hugely less explored than Utah?

You are absolutely correct. My mistake. I should’ve said the contiguous states. I’ll keep that in mind for future reference.

I think he meant “contiguous”. Most people get those two words confused.

Thanks! Utah is an incredibly beautiful and very under-explored state! But as a native Alaska, just trying to keep it all accurate and keep our resume intact ;)@@Utah-Guide
