Filmed with multiple cameras on January 10, 2016. This is the last performance of Fantasmic at Disneyland for at least a year. Want More Disney news? Subscribe to DAPs Magic here: goo.gl/cWy9k www.dapsmagic.com
Me too!! Brings back so many memories of my childhood. I’m so incredibly distraught over the fact that they changed fantasmic completely. I’m happy this recording exists at least so I can relive it all again.
I know this show all the way back from its debut in 1992. I was 11 and this show pulls at my heart every time. It's soooooooo damn amazing! Fantasmic better not go nowhere! it's a part of what makes Disneyland, Disneyland.
@@gabbyvillarreal1062 It is still a good show. But not anywhere as great as the original. You see it once, enjoy it, and that’s it. No need to see it again.
So magical. So glorious. Isn't it cool how recordings never seem to really capture it because it's just so larger than life? There's nothing like Fantasmic. When the dragon comes and all the fire and mad cackling of the witch, it really does feel like there's no hope. But OF COURSE Mick conquers every time because of that fantastic imagination of his :) Best show ever. love Love LOVE Disneyland
2017 is going to be bomb af. Electrical Parade, Dreams Come True, and FANTASMIC. Thank you Disney for 2017 (even though it's only the end of February). ;v;
Coming back to this version of the show, I believe the new and redone one is better. The special effects in the new one and the score is thunderous and spectacular. Only certain parts in this version are better than the new one.
The only thing I like more about this version is Peter Pan. The Pirates section kinda sucks in the new one, and the girl is loud and annoying. I miss “Hey crocodile! Do you like codfish? You do! Hahahahaha”
Technically they do, because of the boats, Disney is re-routing the river. With no river, many of the scenes would either not be there, or would be very sad looking with no boats
took my 3 grandchildren there back in 2013 as a surprise trip...they enjoyed this as well as much as I did ....my daughter and soninlaw came too....was fun for all of us...and this was the best of the best ....especially the princesses dancing on the float....this is sad no more performance we were planning on returning ....hope this comes back soon
This original Fantasmic storyline and audio must comeback ! I love the 2.0 new effects and technical improvements ive seen 2.0 at least 10 times this past year and everytime i still miss the Evil Queen, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Snow White ! I really think Pirates Of The Caribbean is out of place in this show!
i love fantasmic and i hope that they dont add any pirates of the Caribbean, star wars, marvel, or any modern Disney movies on it when it comes back, its just perfect the way it is and if they try modernizing it i feel like if it will ruin the feels of what fantasmic is suppose to be about.
raw vubs I get your sentiment when it comes to Fantasmic! as I grew up with the show, but in the case of Pirates change, I don't think it's too drastic. The Peter Pan segment is based around the premise of pirates on board the Columbia, which would remain the same for the Pirates of the Caribbean. As well, the show is in close proximity to the very attraction that inspired the movies. The projection mapping on the Columbia and the surround buildings would also bring what was supposed to be a temporary show to be on par with newer entertainment offerings. If they were to change the Sorcerer Mickey segments or ending, I think I would have a problem with them changing it.
raw vubs Hasn't been officially confirmed by Disney yet but with the number of sources reporting it it seems to be true. Also Disney has been installing projection equipment around Tom Sawyer's Island and new stunt equipment on the Columbia's rigging so most likely.
I read in MiceChat that they are replacing Peter Pan with Pirates. It's not a huge Pirates fan, but I think it'll be cool. Ariel will have legs instead of her tail and they are replacing Snow White with a top secret princess. They are replacing the snake that appears before the monkeys with something related to The Lion King. I was so happy to read that they're keeping my favorite part (the monkeys). They're trying to do something with projectors and it works fine on everything except the moving actors. They want to make the actors look like skeletons. They have been struggling with that since the boat is moving and the actors have to be in exactly the right place at the right time (makes sense that it's failing). They might have to use black lights and fluorescent paint because that'd be easier. They're also adding an Aladdin section. I think that's just about everything I can remember. Oh yeah! They're adding another explanation point to the name so it's kinda like saying Fantasmic 2.0 Here's the link: micechat.com/154051-disneyland-photo-rumor-update-major-fantasmic-halloween-changes/
I also read that they are kinda changing the music a little which I am actually annoyed about... cause the music is so iconic and its my fav part about the show!!
I don’t even bother watching a Fantasmic anymore. I’m not adverse to change but I don’t find the new version of Fantasmic as magical. I don’t care for the change in vocals and segment changes. I miss this version so much!
I've never seen the Disneyland Fantasmic but part of WDW's Fantasmics charm is that it focuses around older films like Pocahontas. These shows wouldn't be as magical if Frozen/Star Wars took over
I actually hate the Pocahontas segment in WDW's version. It drags on too long. I wish they'd get rid of that part. And upgrade the dragon to one like Disneyland's.
AKDog48 If they upgrade their version they realllllllly need to get rid of all the other villains, every scene with them drags on and on and on forever. Just stick with the badass women we've got and Chernabog
Star Wars? Not magical Frozen? I actually don't mind that idea. The theme is Disney Animation isn't it? And did you know they put the Pocahontas scenes specifically because Micheal Eisner wanted to insert recent films at the time? Pocahontas was certainly not old then.
@@kylemorello4787 yup, personally the charm for me at least is the slightly older films from today's perspective, pocahontas doesnt get much love. I'm mainly against Frozen for the fact that 3 years ago, and still now, theres far too much Frozen in the parks but I get that that's just my opinion :)
I have loved this show since I first saw it in '96. I had been on ebay, looking for a replacement copy of the Soundtrack CD that I got as a souvenir then; and got worried about this show seeing the new artwork for newer releases, so I had to watch. First the good: I am glad that the show hasn't changed as much as I had feared. The effects now are breathtaking, including the projection onto the water. I love also they upped the anté on the Pyro, especially when the dragon appears. Also, the new dragon is cool as f**k. The newer lighting is also cool; from the blacklit monkeys during the jungle sequence, to the decorative lighting on the Princess' barges. now for the bad: 20yrs ago, when Mikey slayed the dragon, his sword expanded to pierce the dragon. I don't know when they changed that, but now that Mickey's sword "shoots" something and slays the dragon, it feels off. I liked the fact that the sword appeared to expand; because it showed that it was still part of a dream & imagination feel. Now it feels more like Mickey's sword is actually a gun. This really is my bigget pet peeve.
The only parts I don’t like is the Pirates of the Caribbean and the fact that I was hearing rumors about Dr. Facilier being added to the villains Segment but I didn’t see him. Other than that, I love the new Fantasmic 2.0. Plus they added a bit of World of Color with the dancing fountains
I knew this would be different because they are obviously different venues, but im surprised at how different the Fantasmic is in Disney World compared to Disneyland. I've only ever seen the one at Disney World so it was nice to watch and see the differences- like Kaa in Disneyland is replaced with the snake version of Jafar, the entire Peter Pan pirate scene is replaced with a scene from Pocahontas, and the scene with the villains on the water screen is way different, as each villain makes a quick appearance, saying one line and then morphing into another villain as opposed to just the Ursula and Fantasmic Villain scenes. I loved spotting the differences and similarities and hopefully by the time Im able to visit Disneyland the show will be back up and running so I can see it live! Loved the video!
wow hahaha, I'm a Disney geek so I watch all the Disney videos lol, but I remember watching a few and they wouldn't specify which park it was and I'm from California so my natural assumption was from Disneyland. When I saw Jafar as a snake, the Pocahantas set, and the whole Lion King set, I got kind of confused. I was like how did I not know that they changed that. Now I know thanks to your comment lol. Thanks for specifying that haha
+Wavvi no problem! Glad I could help. I've only ever visited Disney world, and so that's the only Fantasmic I've ever seen. I remember someone saying something about Peter Pan in the California one, and he's my favorite character so naturally I had to check it out. I love both now!
+AshlynActs Same here but for Disneyland, the Disneyland version is the only one I've seen in person and I think the Disneyworld version is a bit better, maybe because I'm used to the Disneyland one. The Jafar set looked very colorful and very nice as well as the Pocahantas set
Just watched the new version and then came back to watch the original here... time and time again this game me absolute goosebumps... the new show does not touch the heart...
I never knew there was a difference between the Disneyland and the WDW Fantasmics. I love them both!! I hope yours doesn't get changed (badly) because of Star Wars land!
It was just Big Thunder Ranch that got shutdown. Disneyland Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship of Columbia, Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes, and Fantasmic are temporarily shutdown.
I heard that same rumor! Personally to me it would ruin the feeling of having every character an animated movie one, except for Pirates. I love Pirates, but just not in this show.
My friend said who in this show says it's going to be better then ever so to all fantismic fan be pacant it's going to be worth the waite I got to see what there going to do and let me tell it's going to be asome I can't waite
Turns out We get our show and river back next year! The Disney Parks blog announced The river's return in Summer '17 Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America Attractions to Reopen Summer 2017 at Disneyland Park Erin Glover by Erin Glover, Editorial Content Director, Disneyland Resort Over the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing stories about the original Disneyland park attractions that our guests have loved for more than 60 years. With all of the great memories we’ve been recalling, it seems the perfect time to reveal some exciting news about some of these classic attractions. Today, I’m pleased to tell you that the Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America will reopen summer 2017 at Disneyland park. This includes all attractions along the Rivers of America: “Fantasmic!” Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes
Nope, this show will stay closed until 2017 because of the construction of Star Wats Land. I go to Disneyland once a year and all I wanted to do was watch fantastic. Now I'll has to wait 2 years😭
Henny, what your talking about is the Fantasmic and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando,FL. This performance is at Disneyland in Anaheim,CA. So Hollywood Studios Fantasmic is still preforming :)
+CoolFilms UM I don't know how you could've seen Fantasmic when it has been CLOSED for the new Rivers of America. You were probably at Disney's Hollywood Studios watching their version of Fantasmic or at Disney Sea. WELL, search it up yourself . . .
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't get rid of a show that has one of there BIGGEST animations ever. Maybe they'll use the time fantasmic is gone to make a new Fantasmic dragon.
+DAPs Magic hi guys I have a couple of question about this new project of creating star wars land one all fronterland will be close? and also new Orleans squared too? or what is the reason they're closing fantasmic? what about the others attractions and restaurants like Winnie the pooh ride and the hungry bear? if I'm asking you is because I checked the Disney official site and didn't tell me witch part of the park is close and I like to plan my vacations thanks for all your work
+Jeannifer Sanchez Right now only those attractions along the rivers of america are down for an extended period of time. Including Fantasmic, Disneyland Railroad Mark Twain River boat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Tom Sawyers Island, Davy Crockett Canoes. The river and railroad routes need to be rerouted to accommodate the new 14 acre Star Wars Land . The only things announced to be closed forever is in the Big Thunder Ranch area. Which includes the petting zoo and the restaurant. Big thunder mountain railroad will not be touched and remains open. Frontier land, new orleans and critter country will remain untouched as of right now. Other attraction closures going on right now are part of scheduled refurbishment, or removal of the holiday overlay.
+Jeannifer Sanchez toontown is not being touched for the Star Wars addition. Star Wars will be built on the existing backstage areas and big thunder ranch area. Disney announced they are only using those two spaces. Big thunder ranch and lots of backstage areas. Toontown will not be touched.
I wish I was there for its last performance...I know it’s super childish but, this show was close to my heart changing the original arrangement and taking away the characters they did is lik if they did Main Street electrical parade without Pete’s Dragon...the magic isn’t there for me anymore when I watch fantasmic :/
Mickey was so much more animated/enthusiastic in this version. In the new one he seems bored/going through the motions. I prefer the big, fast gestures in this version over the almost lazy-like ones in 2.0.
exactly!! In the original Mickey already knows how to control the magic of his imagination while in 2.0 he figuring out the new found magic he has and plays around with it.
Kinda peeves that they're shutting down such a large chunk of the park without much warning. I've been planning my wedding for two years around going to Disneyland just to find a lot of stuff will be closed.
Who here is ready for the jaw-dropping you never saw it coming but the unthinkable happened, star casted 30+ min bar raising we worked our asses off on a secret 10 year plan for the 30th in 2022 event? I'll drop some hints - how about this, Peter Pan gets reinstated, Sleeping Beauty is in, Snow White is in, Cinderella is in, Alice is in, Frozen is out, all homages for ones like Robin Williams are in, the dragon got upgraded, the "flags" on the final ship will be changed, you have a multi-coloured 30th anniversary logo with 3 special effects representing the 3 decades of operation, the total runtime for 2022 is roughly 30-40 mins right now but that will be adjusted based on what we can get in, the mark twain ship is getting an overhaul to allow for more characters, the main stage might be getting a rotation system to allow for new elements, the fountains are getting reworked on patterns and the fireworks also get looked at for some sky symbols new and old, hows that sound? Better grab some 4K UHD tech people, coz this thing looks spectacular, hope you can multi-angle left right and up, this is gonna be a blast :)
My friend does Mickey mouse in this show and the black and white Mickey as well my friend will be doing a q and a video on Friday so if you have any questions for him please send them he will be more then happy to answer them for you he a super nice guy he was in this one he kinda sad that this was the last show i kept saying it's only intil star wars is done. He loves doing this show.
I appreciate a lot of the updates of the new Fantasmic, but I will always love the original showing. :) The Imagination song in this show, it's always spoken right to my soul, almost like a theme song for my life. When I decided I wanted to write fiction novels at around age seven, that was coincidentally when my parents got the soundtrack to the original Fantasmic on CD. And when I started to tap into my own creativity, it was like this song and the whole show spoke to me very personally, it encouraged me to use my own imagination. I considered it a kind of sign from God that expanding on my own imagination and creativity is what I'm called to do with my life. Thank You, Lord, and thank you, Disneyland, for the inspiration this show has given me. :)
@@Dapsmagic Amazing! I am actually very sad i missed the old fantasmic, like i want to go to disneyland in america (i live in europe) but for me it really matters which one has the best fantasmic. Like TPM vids said, the disneyland performers have more energy than the disney world performers.
I think the way the show is set up is more conducive to more energy all the way around. It really is incredible how it transforms the Rivers of America!
