Glad my great grandfather was able to see this before he passed away 3 months later. He was a lifelong Leafs fan, used to tell me about going to see games for a quarter, the last time they won the cup, and even more so how much he hated Harold Ballard. Thanks for the memories.
Saturday night hockey in Toronto with the Maple Leafs is Canadian folklore. Something that is indelible on the psyche of this country. MLG is lodged in real Canadian history as hallowed ground.
I went to the last day public could access the building as a kid and they had prizes and tours and things. Was a pretty cool place. I won a signed leaf jersey, still have it.
Thx for the upload. I remember balling my eyes out as an 8 year old when we lost this game. I thought this was the Stanley Cup Finals or something lol. That 1998-99 season was a really memorable one. We went so far, but fell short to Dominik Hasek and those damn Sabres in the eastern conference finals.
i think a majority of season ticket holders, register it under their business (which hopefully isn't allowed), my friend has season tickets, but his dad owns a big company and they use them a lot for clients, same with my uncle who runs a builder, only people i know with season tickets are high up in a business, i've never heard of an average joe who has saved up for season tickets or something like that which is sad
Alexei Ponikarovsky ; I think the black hawks did the same as well & Philadelphia, Phillys new arena was right across the street then Phillys old arena went to there farm team the Philadelphia Phantoms.
