I can't believe what I just saw. Those stones! This man is 1 of maybe a handful in the entire world who could get that 427lb stone off the ground. Not to mention pressing stones mere mortals couldn't even move. To me, the stones press displays immense strength like no other. Thank you for letting us witness greatness.

Bloody hell Thors Dad should enter the masters comp for 50+. I’ve been watching recently and he has crazy strength, especially his grip. I would love to see him again Mark Felix. I know Mark has a lot more experience but his Dad has crazy strength for his size and age. Felix is a freak of nature and I am not saying his Dad would beat Mark but I would love to see how he would compare

If Thor comes in the top 5 it’s a fantastic result. People need to stop telling him to win this contest. There’s no pressure on him to beat such a strong field on his very first contest back. If he keeps on this pace, he’s EASILY the top guy to beat in another 12 months. In the meantime it’s just about risk management and getting in the event-specific training

When Thor won worlds before retiring he was without question the strongest man on the planet and going in to that worlds strongest man he was the favourite for the competition he was also favourite for most events bar a couple he won most of the events or came second in the others He is currently preparing for the Arnold’s which is the second biggest world event after the worlds Thor easily won the worlds strongest man before retiring he will not find the Arnold’s easy even if he does win which I don’t think he will The level of competition right now is unreal when Thor won worlds he didn’t really have a serious threat to beat him if the top 10 12 people turn up Thor is in for a hard week The only event he will be the clear favourite for will be deadlift or some static lift off the floor bar that he isn’t the favourite there’s a few that will beat him on overhead press the loading event is anybody’s farmers/yolk carry he’s not atlas stones he’s not and he’s not the favourite by a long stretch either Maybe the long lay off my actually go in his favour Thor retiring messed up his legacy if he would of carried on he would of gone down as the greatest strongman in history look at all the trophies achievements and accolades he’s missed out on retiring like he did he should of left the boxing and mma alone he was never going to do anything of note in them sports and look at what it’s cost him He’s not walking back into the same strongman world he left the strongman world with his only competition being Eddie hall and an aging Brian shaw as his only real competition that could push him to the wire Look at the strongman world now mitchel hooper Luke stoltman alexie novikov martins licis Evan singleton mateuiz keilisczkowski The only event Thor will be the favourite is deadlift Thor has aged since he won worlds and he’s now the elder statesman of the competitors It’s good to see him back but he will be lucky to finish on the podium I can tell you who will finish above him for each event He’s not going to be able to nick a couple of events then place high in others to win The field of strongmen now is too evenly matched and Thor is not as quick on his feet as he once was so he’s going to drop a lot of points on yolk carry farmers walk atlas stones He’s never been the best overhead presser so he will drop points on log press stone to shoulder or circus dumbbell and as I said he is in a field of the young guns now so he will more than likely drop points on truck pull too IMO Thor was the last of the old school strong men along with Eddie hall Look at the current crop of strong men Novikov hopper stoltman licis singleton and boudrealt there not huge mass monsters bar stoltman they are all very quick explosive and have cardio that of rugby/NFL players I wish Thor all the best and if he finishes on the podium he’s done well in this day and age as in my opinion this is the most competitive I’ve seen the strongman field since I can remember and I’ve been following strongman for over 20 years

I can’t believe how strong you are with stone lifting at what i believe are technically missing parts of the lift. Your hip thrust looks very minimal as you go from lap to chest and shoulder that really helps get the load moving and it doesn’t look like you are pulling the stone into like a row as you go to hip thrust. I know from my lifting when fatigued this makes all the difference.
