Just like that... Vivian Campbell pulls off one of the greatest rock solos ever written in "Rainbow in the Dark" like he's making himself a cup of tea. Legend.
Yes. I seen him back in the day and recently here in CT. His playing is so crisp and sounds just like he did back in the day. He’s on my top 5 and he stand at # 1. When I first seen heard him I was like “who’s this dude?” Been a fan ever since. And same goes with Vinny .. Great group!!!
I think Mr. CAMPBELl is real close to my number 1 position. Obviously Eddie and Randy are up there, but I feel like since Dio this is Hirst first chance to shine.
Damn straight! The absolute Godfather of seamlessly blending the pinch harmonics into his riffs and solos. Lots of guitarists try but his are seamless and essential. Killer tone!
Just saw these fellas last night in Portage, Indiana in front of maybe 200 people. They played like they were at Donnington. Great to see Vivian and Vinnie so close. Bonus was singer and bass player. Long Live Rock and Roll!!🤘
He's been playing those songs over 40 years now! Saw them in 84 on the last in line tour. Was with Sabbath before then with Ronnie. Probably plays them in his sleep 💤 👍👍
Its great to see this lineup. I stopped listening to Dio after Vivian left, and to see him rocking this stuff now that I'm an old man...well...it brings a tear to my eye...lol
Vinnie's playing is amazing..I can hear overtones if Dio era Sabbath in his playing..Love that he was in both bands...Great to see Vivian and Vinnie together again
Wow!..this is great..as a man who saw Dio on the Last in Line tour in 84 it is surreal to witness this!..Vivian and Vinnie doing it again..great!..Hard to live up to Dio's unreal voice..but I think he's doing good..I would pay to see this live👍
most definitely.....He crushes Phil Collen of Def Leppard as a player in every way. Its got to get annoying playing side man to him all the time. Although I'm sure the huge paychecks he gets from Leppard more than make it worth the time haha. It's nice to see him rip again.
Amazing tribute band of Ronnie James dio rip the last in line with the legend of guitar Mr vivían Campbell on guitar and Mr, vinnie appice on drums 2 musicians the best of the heavy metal of your band dio congratulations
Love this band, Vivian has always been one of my all time favorites, the music he and Jimmy wrote with Dio stands as some of the best ever and the new stuff is great, I hope everyone buys the new music so we can keep getting it from Viv and the guys, perfect singer for the music, Plz support them!!!!
Killer, never thought I would see Vivian play his music live again. Mr. Campbell we Love you and love to hear and see you rock like you were meant too. R.I.P. RJD. Love Vinnie also, Thank You Guys this makes my year!!! Awesome!!
Wow Vivian hit all the signature licks even better than he used to play them. Four and a half years ago? Amazing how time flies. Great show! Thank you for sharing it!
Been waiting a long time for Viv to do this. I stopped listening to Dio after he was gone. The songs just weren't the same. Thanks Viv for giving the fans what they want. And that's the old Dio tunes with you shredding the Les Paul.
Great set, remarkable guitars from Vivian Campbell.Wonderful to watch Vinnie Appice that close what a phenomenal rock drummer.Great band would love to see them live when they visit the UK again. Thanks for putting this up.
Dammit! I missed this how in Houston! Vinnie is a fucking Metal Drum Monster! Tweaking his snare drum and keeping up with the show was just another day at the office. Man, he's pushing what, 70 years old and he's beating them drums like a 20 year old. What an inspiration and it motivate me to put my version of Holy Diver just so you can the difference and appreciate how fucking good he is. I hope they come back to Houston, or anywhere in Texas. I'll be there!
I wish I had seen Vivian back with Dio so many years ago!! Good to see him enjoying himself playing this great music!! I would pay to see this for sure!
No matter how much time passes how the body ages or how people die the music lives on forever and ever in the form that it was created. God bless you Ronnie James Dio and God bless rock and roll
I have seen them 4 times in the past 2 years here in Sacramento and they brought it each and every time. I even got a fist bump from Vinny at one of the shows!!🤘🏻
I was so upset back in the day when I read (In Hit Parader or something similar) that Vivian was no longer in the band. I only followed Dio with Craig Goldie for a short time. Dio was for me only worth paying attention to with both Vivian and RJD. That said, it's great to hear Vivian play these tracks again. It'll never be the same as the original, but it's pretty cool Vivian is playing heavier music again. As awesome as Def Leppard was once way back when, Vivian's talents seem wasted there IMO.
You are damn right. Def Leppard did / does never see what a talent they got in Vivian Campbell. Def Leppard will always be a Pop-rock band in my opinion
@@wakeupcanuck6763 but Holy Diver was DIO's Masterpiece! sure Graig is a good guitar player but Vivian is Original and he Wrotes the best Riffs for DIO
I close my eyes and it almost brings me back to seeing the first tour of DIO 1983 (apart from DIOs vocals of course). Back then a unknown Viv enter the stage and just floors everything. Hope I get to see these guys at some point.
Dang. I haven't seen Vivian play these songs since Dio came to the Bronco Bowl in Dallas in 1983. I think Y&T opened up for them, but Dio's line up was smokin' hot. Vinny's huge drum set that looked like extra kick drums suspended in the air on both sides of the kit. Crazy cool. I had never seen anyone play so fast - as he did on Stand Up and Shout.
