The original 3 sisters, Alexandra Krosney, Molly Ephraim and Katlyn Dever were so awesome together. They not only came across as great actresses, loaded with talent, but they were easily believable as sisters. They meshed really really well. On stage anyway. The episode where they combined to make the video “My pie rack” is something that I never seem to get tired of seeing 🏆🏆🏆 ❤️ you and miss you Alexandra and Molly. ❤️ you too Katlyn. You ladies are awesome!!!!
Agreed only if we can keep last man standing on the air Mandy and the original cast might be able to come back there's endless possibilities of spin off's Kyle and Mandy having children Mike Vanessa Kristen Ryan auntie uncle's Eve, there's endless possibilities for spin off's Kyle can make friends LoL Ed and his wife's drama LoL keeping up with the Baxter's i certainly would watch it ?
And not just with Kyle. She had a good chemistry with whoever she was in a scene with. And she played the ditz in a natural way. The new Mandy is trying to be ditzy.
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
I prefer the old Mandy, I just liked her better, I also liked the original Kristen from the beginning of the show, I just liked her better, she portrayed the struggling single mom better
The old mandy (molly ephraim) was so much better than the new mandy she knew how to act and get you intrigued in the show and always made me laugh the new mandy has nothing on the original girl I looked forward to watching show now not so much
From the entire cast, my favourite is Molly Ephraim, the original Mandy. That girl is so incredibly talented and beautiful ... she's reminds me of a young Elizabeth Taylor.
Eve is my favorite it's o so hard for me to watch without her being there but I do ! I have no idea what iam gonna do if the show goes of the air ! Maybe we could get lucky and keep it on like season 7 .
I so love Kyle! I always tell my husband that Kyle is the one I have a crush on! LOL I do not like the recast of Mandy and I never have warmed up to the recast of Kristen. The second actress that is playing Kristen is almost old enough to be Vanessa‘s sister. I absolutely can’t stand the recasting of Boyd. They did not have to age him that much! But from a different article I do know why the actor left.
Ever sense thay replaced Eve an Mandy and tried to replace them with Molly and Jen the show went to hell and a hand basket then . I think that's the reason why the show being canceled after the 9th season ! They can't keep the ratings up cuz they screw it with the cast ! There's a lot more things I can bring up I don't wanna look like iam nitpicking . Maybe we mite get lucky sometime in the middle of the season the show well get picked for another season ! Everybody let's pray for it !!!
Indeed i honestly wish they would an keep last man standing going as well letting Mike Vanessa be the awesome grandparents who's there for there children's children that would be awesome thank you for your comment it's a good idea 😊
That would work. When Threes Company was evolving the show The Ropers was created & there was room for both cuz people loved the characters. Sometimes u just can't get what u want & that goes for viewers as well as the original Mandy, Molly Ephriam.
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
@@basketcase6884 well, I thought the "original" Kyle was great...but the HR thing is lame...and the Jay Leno character doesn't float my boat...the "new" Mandy just tries too hard, it seems...she had very big shoes to fill
My husband and I absolutely LOVE this program!!! Hopefully they come back again!!! We miss the original Mandy however... beginning to like the new one!!! PLEASE COME BACK FOR THE NEXT SEASON!!! I feel like they're part of our family. We miss them so much between the off season that we watch reruns while waiting for them to come to back...
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
The problem was not swapping Mandy out, the problem was the replacement. The show's producers were clueless, there was ZERO chemistry with the "TALL BLONDE" and the rest of the family. bad bad bad move. They swapped out Boyd twice (the first one was just too young) the second time it was almost the same kid. Kristine swap also was similar and fit in with the family. When they cast the new Mandy they thought "Hey we'll go total opposite" I read they literally said, WRONG maybe shorter and blonde, but they basically brought an Elephant to replace a cat and how they thought that would work was just ignorance. After a FAILED 1st season they refused to bring in someone who fit the family dynamic. The worst part of McCormick was she NEVER had any real connection with Kyle. I used to record it and skip all the AMAZON QUEEN scenes.
The show got worse with every single cast change, with the exception of "Boyd". I LOATHE the new Ryan character. He's everything I hate about current 20-something males. Didn't like the original Mandy at first, but grew to appreciate the character over the course of a few shows. I understand Molly McCook had a difficult role to file, but she failes MISERABLY.
Molly McCook has absolutely no comedic timing at all. Ephraim was such a natural and her interactions with other cast members was perfect. They should have sent her away like Eve and then brought her back once and a while.
They would have had to write out Kyle too, since the characters are married. And that was never going to happen. Hell, he dated two daughters so they could explain why he was visiting the Baxter household.
@@toddnolastname4485 He could come around to "help with projects around the house" or something like that. Free Labor for residing the house, reshingling the roof, etc. I'm 100% in the "don't replace faces" camp. If you have to change an actor for some reason, you change the character, too. You do NOT put a new face to an old name. It ruined Harry Potter, it ruined The Mummy, it ruined Last Man Standing, it ruins everything. (I understand the reasoning behind Harry Potter, and I get that getting rid of Dumbledore would have ALSO ruined the movies, probably in an even worse way. But the original actor's death still hurt the rest of the movies going forward).
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
@@c182SkylaneRG They didn't even try to find a good replacement, though; Michael Gambon is a good actor in other roles, but he's a terrible Dumbledore - he never even read the books!!!! Hugh Grant could have pulled it off - or hell, just go with an American actor. I only bought Gambon as Dumbledore in a small handful of scenes.
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
Disagree. McCook didn't bring as much ignorant fun to the show as Ephraim did. And there was almost no stuff about her fashionbizz, which made for many storylines. I don't care for fashion, but these storylines were so good the jokes were very good.
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
Will always love Molly Ephraim as Mandy she really made that role, Molly McCook is nice just not the right Mandy replacement in my mind. I love Last Man Standing and even with the replacements I am going to be so very sad to see the show end.
My wife and I loved the original Mandy, she would always make us laugh and we wanted to see more of her. Her timing and comedy was great and worked well with this group. We do miss Molly Ephraim, wish a local channel would pick her up.
Please come back!! Made me LOL every time I watched it Thank you, Tim, for your courage and taking a stance Same goes for the remaining cast. Just love the show!!!
He took shots at Hillary, Obama AND Trump. I guess he's a conservative. If he is or not, it's refreshing to see a hollywood actor not blindly be on one side or the other, specifically democrat
Yeah, I noticed his commentary REALLY tapered off since the show has come back from it hiatus. The suits at Fox probably told to cut it back. Leave it to the Fox execs to ruin a show.
The fact that Molly E is the best, goes without saying. I REALLY missed her in the last few seasons. But what I truly liked best about the show is the fact that the Baxter house was run by a confident, financially secure Dad with a good sense of humor (which is how MOST American families are in real life). The chemistry between Tim A and Nancy T is the best I've seen since the Huxtables on the Bill Cosby show.
Mandy was wonderful and is just perfect for the part the new Mandy...well they should have at least picked someone who looked like her. The new one is to tall and no funny! It is hard for people to be recast but this one really needed more thought!
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
"Afraid of change" - no I wasn't afraid of the new Mandy. I simply didn't like her. She was way too extra for me. Didn't see the last season and probably won't watch the final season. Great show though.
It’s Apple and oranges. Original Mandy was timeless and the new Mandy could not replace so did the right thing be being her own version of the character. Also the Air Force Academy is an elite institution not “air force school”
The original Mandy was hands down my favorite. She just reminded me so much of my daughter, didn't do well in school and is now finishing her Masters Degree while working full time. Oh, and she will finish debt free from UNC making the Dean's each semester.
I hope that another network picks the show up..I wait all week to sit down have a cola and watch the show. Hope it does come back we aren't done with this show yet...
I preferred alexandra krosney to Amanda fuller I don't think she had a fair chance she showed the better side of portraying a single mom and getting by
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
Because of COVID, they had to time jump 4 years, hence why the little kids were older, so now things in LMS World are 4 years ahead and post-COVID (hence no masks, etc.), and Eve has already Graduated from the AF Academy as an Active Duty Lieutenant and is a Fighter Pilot now.
I want to see kyle and mandy have their baby as well as Kristen and ryan. And definitely more of eve, she's prolly my fav. Her and Mike's relationship reminds me a bit of my dad and I how we hunt and do all sorts of things together and I also had all sisters who didn't
Eve was always my favorite, I wish they kept her character the same instead of trying to make her more like her sisters. The one season they did that Eve was a totally different character, it didn’t make any sense for her to completely change going for gung ho military to being a singer which she had no interest in before that season.
I was so surprised at the pheasant hunting episode with Mandy blasting away and using her rifle correctly. Eve had no objections, so Mandy had to have been hunting before. And when they get home with their spoils, Eve is hilariously describing the outing “Good girl”, and Mandy gives a little doggy pant.
I think anything with Tim Allen would be a HIT! TIm and all the people involved become Family since Tim creates the atmosphere of family and becomes a real life situation that people can relate to. That's why anything Tim Allen touches is GOLD and REAL!!! I wish I had a connection with him and had good SOLE as he to make all shows as his.
Tim Allen has always been one my favorites. It doesn't hurt that he plays a strong, conservative family man who has been a big fan of my two favorite football teams...the Broncos on Last Man Standing & the Lions on Home Improvement. I love the whole cast. I've had a crush on Nancy Travis since "So I Married An Axe Murderer". But I have to say that Kaitlyn Dever is my favorite of his daughters, although all are great! I just really love this show.
I loved molly ephraim (original Mandy) she was fantastic, she could not be and was not replaced. Molly McCook made it her own and was great loved her too. They're all my favourites as they're all amazing in their own unique ways.
I love them all! They are a family and I love how they deal with problems together. I love the comedy that Tim Allan brings to the show. . I prefer the original Mandy in this roll because she is great in that role. The way she could manipulate the parents, the way she dressed, I do like the new Boyd. I watch this show as much as possible. Yes, I watch a lot of reruns. Please don’t end the show. Maybe Netflix or Amazon Prime. It’s hard to find a family show like this. Merry Christmas to you all (cast and crew) and stay well. 🙏👏
I say BRAVO 👏 to Molly McCook and how they handled the recasting and her introduction into the cast!!😃😆😅🤣 What else could they have done better?🤔💓And her and Kyle make such a cute 😍 couple too!!
Before it was picked up after a year off the air, Hector Elizondo had already been looking for his next role and had done a pilot for a new series that didn't make it into production. Most actors on TV don't know when a series is ending since being renewed/canceled can happen weeks after it goes on hiatus before the next shooting for another season is even announced. Hollywood is notorious for not letting actors know that a show or the role they have had is over and more than once the first time they've heard about it was when they got asked how they felt about by the press/friend. Indeed Gilligan's Island had got the go ahead for Season 4 before it was canceled due to a scheduling shuffle to keep Gunsmoke and Russell Johnson who played the Professor recalled he had already planned on its paycheck when the news came down. The iconic yet campy Batman series with Adam West was in limbo of sorts as the network said it was canceled initially but changed its mind but by then the sets were torn down like the Batcave and rebuilding them was out of the question. To be fair, Last Man Standing got the axe the first time because it became to expensive to produce since the network didn't own it and not having part of the backend in syndication that many do keeps series going since those profits often pay the bills and the bulk of the money a series makes is in reruns like Gilligan's Island that's never been of the air somewhere for nearly 60yrs....
Last Man Standing was canceled on ABC because of the political stand ABC has, they did not like a show that was considered conservative, FOX has also gone liberal and Disney has purchased much of FOX and Disney owns ABC. I almost would not put it past Disney that they only purchased FOX to drive Last Man Standing off the air again.
To Ram E.. When ABC decided not go for another season it was because the entire production cost would be there's alone unlike the previous years and it could of been close to 5$ million or more for episode. At close to 100$ Million for 20+ episodes the networked balked since Fox Studios got it at no cost to themselves unlike before. Indeed its in reruns were TV Series makes most of its money and it's why The Simpsons are a cash cow that's keep it in production for nearly 30 seasons. Allen however did himself no favors by saying being a Republican in Hollywood was akin to being Jewish in Nazi Germany in a interview at the time didn't help. Disney bought Fox Entertainment to own its library like The Simpsons etc because it makes money and will make money off of Last Man Standing too. The series viewership has been dwindling for years from a high of 9 million since its first season and it's 9th seasons is its last next year because in terms of viewership its best days are behind it as is most of Broadcast TV today. Political humor is quite perishable especially in a series as newer viewers don't remember why Nixon was the butt of jokes once and its why most Series that do almost need a Web Page to explain who the politicians were they were joking about even a decade or two down the road..
I liked 1st Kristen, 2nd Boyd (the one we watched grow up) and 1st Molly. I don't think I've ever seen a show try so hard to stay on the air after so many changes. And this...Why is no one explaining how Boyd is not even mentioned anymore? Remember Family Matters when they wrote the youngest daughter completely out? LMS is one of my favorite shows and I think it lost too much with all the actor changes.
My favorites was the original Kristen and the original Mandy. Switching them out was hard to fall the Family life. Really would see a sequel to last man standing with all the original cast…
I get why they had to replace these actors but it really sucks seeing a character change so drastically. Molly McCook has made an interesting character but I will always miss the original Mandy for her persona and growth. it really was a shame to say goodbye to that version.
The problem wasn't that they had to replace Mandy, the problem was in casting. They replaced her with a 6' blonde, when they replaced the orig Kristian they got someone who looked similar, same with Boyd, had they found a SHORTER Mandy she would have fit in with the family dynamic, the 6 FOOT Mandy looked like she was adopted from the Amazon.
Molly E and Kyle were so good together ❤. Molly E by herself kept me laughing each time she was on screen. Love them all and hate to see it end. I have rewatched episodes so many times I'm learning the lines.
A better choice would have been Malana Vayntraub, the AT & T girl, Lily. She had the same appearance as Molly Ephraim, is about the same height and does comedy quite well.
I loved all the actors. Every single one. They all brought to the show something of their own uniqueness and humor. And I will miss them all sooo much. Please consider coming back. 🙏 I felt like they were my friends and family too. There is so little worth watching these days and this show was always a bright spot in the week. Thank you for being so wonderful. ❤️
The original Mandy was the best. Her character was clueless, self observed, and totally lovable. Eve was her complete opposite. Smart, sporty and a little snarky. But truth be told, I loved all the girls.
I used to watch the show all the time, the cast was perfect when I saw the new series and the new Mandy, not to take nothing away from the young lady but the magic was gone Mandy isn't the reason why I watch the show her beautiful smile her quirky ways is Magic
Miss original Mandy (my favorite of the whole cast)! She was the star of the show, 100%! Would be most amazing if she returned for the last season.... fingers crossed 🤞❤
Tim Allen is and always will be my favorite Actor and Comedian. It took me a while to get used to Mandy’s new Molly playing her. But I fell blessed that the Show continued on despite the changes in characters.
There were actually 3 actor changes from Season 1 to Season 2. Kristin, Boyd, and Ryan all had recasts. Then with the move to Fox, came Mandy, Boyd (again), and Carol Larabee.
@@josepheller8395 Not hushed at all. They said, years ago, that they wanted to age-up Boyd to create storylines. An older Boyd required an older Kristen.
Watched since the first show. Still a great show. Miss seeing Eve as much. But Jen is great. Molly is good but really really miss seeing the old Mandy, she was so awesome and really fantastic. Love dynamite of the family life and Ed of course wonderful.
Honestly, having come late to the series, the single biggest reason I won't watch it is the constant recasting. You missed a crucial recasting that is the one that warned me off: the oldest daughter (the waitress with the kid), only lasted one season. Replacing actors is fine. Job turnover is real life. Whatever. But if you're going to replace an actor, you HAVE to replace their character, as well. I'm sorry, if someone's unavailable to reprise their role, then their role gets replaced, you don't put a new face to the old character. I loved Home Improvement, and bought the boxed set so I could rewatch it at will. When Jonathan Taylor Thomas wanted to leave, his character left. They didn't bring in a new face to fill old shoes.
You made reference that the show was being cancelled, it sounded like this is the natural ending to the show. Every sitcom has an end. Great ones realize it.
Are we forgetting that among the first changes was Amanda Fuller replacing Alexandra Krosney as Kristin? So eventually, the whole clan of that branch of the Baxter family tree were played by newcomers.
I don’t think I’ll ever see molly mcook as Mandy but I’ll always welcome her to the show, I think nobody can do it as good as molly ephraim, I also never realized that boyd was changed out
