3 days ago I got two knives ordered from KnifeCenter. Spyderco Native Chief, and Manix 2 Lightweight dark blue (S110V). The picture of the Manix 2 showed it as a riveted system with only the pivot, and clip screw able to use a torx bit on. To my great surprise and pleasure the entire knife has all torx screws and can be fully disassembled. Do not know if this is one in a million or the current models just produced. I wrapped it in Christmas wrapping with a note that says from my wife to me. Imagine my surprise when I get such a great knife for Christmas. I am sure she will get a great pair of shoes from me, that I will see for the first time Christmas morning. Thanks again for the upgraded Manix 2 LW, (either accidental or by design).
Shout out to all kitchen knife manufacturers- that Counter Puppy is ingenious! Wouldn’t mind seeing whole sets done that way. Kitchen knife handle materials are easy to make in any shape.
As good the idea is for a small paring knife, I can see how troublesome such a handle would be on a chief knife: for all the cutting edge length to be usable against a cutting board, it's more convenient when the latter actually stands lower than the handle. Anything keeping the edge away from the cutting board is more often than not an issue when it comes to chopping, slicing or mincing stuff.
I have an Epistle. I really like it as a Gentleman's Knife. It's so light, it's almost imperceptible in the pocket. Plus, I actually like 8cr, because it's so easy to maintain. I use it throughout a day, then run it three or four times across our inexpensive ceramic kitchen sharpener and it's good for the next outing.
Get em a knife! I been married 16 years, and my wife has gotten me a good knife just about every year, this year, I got her, her very first one……a purple baby banter.
I loved d Spiderco Counter Puppy.......looks gr8 in shape n length n above everything it's a Spiderco after all...... Dear DCA I love the simplest way you explain the technicalities about the blades. Nowadays I'm kinda addicted to your episodes.... 👍👍👍🇮🇳
The Crucarta I picked up a while back was easily the sharpest factory edge ive received in a while lol, excellent knife with excellent materials and the only draw back is the price but you do get what you pay for these days afterall.
I think Spyderco's are generally ugly knives, but there's no denying the geometry of their blades. The crucarta PM2 is one of the few Spydies I own and its a great work knife.
The threads on the first CRKT Techliner that I bought were messed up, but CRKT customer service took care of me and sent me another copy that was fine. I do like the pen. I removed the stock clip and put a clip from an AAA penlight on the cap which allows me to hang the pen on the outside of my shirt pocket. So to use the pen, all I have to do is pull down.
Great suggestions. I always have a Victorinox Classic Alox and a True Utility micro tool on my keychain, plus a regular EDC knife or larger Victorinox on me - and non-knife people always gladly use all of them when they need one and I offer them, so I assume they would gladly receive gifts that are meant as tools for daily use, not as collector's items or weapons.
Question for KnifeAQ: In your view, what is the best knife multi tool combo for average EDC? Best combo for someone in a trade like construction or plumbing? Best combo for someone who works in the woods or hunts?
DCA I have a question for u guys, why haven’t I ever covered any CobraTech knives? Is it a issue of competition or that Knife Center doesn’t have a deal with them? I personally have 2, an OTF double edged with a bit of serration which I don’t care a whole lot for the serration personally but it has terrific action. Not as smooth as a MicroTech but smooth nonetheless. Then I also have a button operated out the side, both have D2 blades. Just curious so hopefully u see this question & nip that curiosity in the butt.
Yeah they generally don't advertise brands they don't carry. Also, Microtech has bullied a lot of their dealers into not carrying the knives of their smaller competitors like they did with Axial.
The SAK rambler models live on any keychain in my house.. unbeatable thinness while still having great tools and, of course, a knife that opens AWAY from the key ring
Aww man. Of all the times to be european and no budget left. I really want that Baby Banter with upgraded steel, don't have 200$ + shipping to make na order ;_;. Hope they make one that's not exclusive in the future.
I think the Kershaw Interstellar could have done better making the can opener end a longer and thinner so it could be used as a prybar / screwdriver ???
I’m a little late to the party but I’m upset that the kwaiken air has gold. In my opinion (which isn’t worth much online) gold makes it look cheap and mall ninja like. I feel like a bronze would of been a better color choice
The Black & Red Pioneer X & Farmer X are Not exclusive to the Knife Center, at least one German wholesaler is marketing them on eBay with his logo & both come in 4 colors - black, red, blue & green, I bought a blue & red Pioneer X & a black Farmer X from his eBay store at a competitive price to yours.
i got a knife at 10 for turning double digits and a rifle at 13 for becoming a teenager, half on a car at 16, at 18 i got a slap on the back and a get out..!! lol
I bought 7 Farmer X Alox (in silver) Victorinox Swiss Army multitools for Xmas gifts last year in 2021 (including one for me!) and they were $38 a piece. It shocking how 'inflation' now prices this same multitool at $70 a piece.
For me, I find them very useful for simple craft cuts as well as in outdoor scenarios for cutting notches or trimming things with precision for... think tent stakes, stick traps, etc. -DCA
Hey man. After carrying a Victorinox for a few years, I was looking for one with both a wood saw, hack saw/plastic saw, and file. The only thing with that combo that’s not 2” thick I’ve found is on Amazon. Did I miss something? Where else can I find that combo without it feeling like a brick in my pocket? Thanks dude
I love knife center and I watch every video. Só, my comment is like a review on the kershaw EPISTLE . I bought one last year. When arrived, it was a little tough to open. I tried to loose the pivot screw and it just broke the screw head. I contacted KC, but they said it was a kershaw's problem . I called kershaw, but they asked me to send the broken piece. Guess what, I would have to pay for the shipping. Basically, the price of a new knife. Now I have a brand new broken kershaw epistle. Spend you money on something else. .
Mine was difficult to open too and seemed very low quality. The aluminum scales are not even the same shape as one another! Kershaw's policy now is to charge $7 return shipping, even if the knife is defective.
Pretty interesting on the finger nail clippers. Really didn't know that there was any other option than the drug store type. Getting me a set of the Concord.
