Just picked one up a few weeks ago, I love it! 01 WS6 A4, I would prefer a manual, all of the ones I found were higher mileage or out of my price range. This one had 29k original miles and unmodified.

@@CombustionChamber The L36 is a great engine, no doubt. I even considered doing a naturally aspirated build with it to see how much I could extract from it. A number of the features that make the LS series so much different from the earlier small blocks were actually used in the 3800 while the LS was still in development. And with the right knowledge of the engine and the will to do it, it wouldn't be hard to make a potent little engine with one. Hell, Tim King managed 810+ whp and 8.9x quarter mile times with one that had been twin turbocharged. The block, heads, crankshaft, connecting rods, along with a few other pieces were actually production parts that had just been reworked. I however also have a weak spot for European sports cars, particularly the Aston Martin range as well as the Maserati GranTurismo. So I've decided to do a custom LS build once time and funds allow, using an aluminum Gen 3 aluminum block with a crank swap to get an aluminum 4.8L V8. I already have most of the details worked out, just need to get the time and money to get started. The goal is to keep it limited to 7k rpm, but get somewhere between 430-450 hp at the flywheel.

Mine is parked outside (i live in apartments) daily driver for 20 yrs and no cracks on the doors there are cracks on the dash but that is causes motorcycle accident that crash on my windshield... I always clean and armor all the plastic parts

COMBUSTION CHAMBER Hey, can you elaborating on that “ bulls eye” you were talking about. Where exactly is it? And what it is? Looks like a copper stamping on the head gasket. Is this what I’m supposed to look for? I have a 2002 collectors edition. And I might have the LS6 as well would like to know. Thanx.

@@sucapizda, it's on the block just forward of the head bank#2. It's about the size of a quarter on a flat spot. It'll either be there or it won't it's pretty obvious to spot. Those with the bullseye are ls1 blocks, those without are ls6 blocks.

@@BrownishCrayonish Like the guy in video says late Ls1s and ls6s were a different design for more strength and better bay to bay breathing. Hence when buying head bolts you need to specify whether it's early Ls1 or late ls1/ls6 as the two different blocks require different length bolts.
