The fact that they were on the same stage for this long was a small miracle. Roger Waters (bass, backing vocals & primary lyricist) is famously prickly and opinionated. David Gilmour fought him hard to get the music equal time with the words. Rick Wright (keyboards & vocals) has since died, and Waters is at war with the world. There will never be another PF reunion, but this was pretty cool. Happy that you liked it.

Waters was the backbone and engine after the flops after Barret , He saved and drove the thing . Best material then , Yes a taskmaster and often not liked, fr it .

@@kevanbodsworth9868 Undoubtedly a lyrical genius. Floyd was at its best when the other three made contributions to the music. The Final Cut is what happens when the other members were cut from the creative process. I know some people enjoy it, but not me.

My wife and I were driving back home from Chicago and we knew what station on our car radio was carrying Live Aid. We heard Pink Floyd being announced and we pulled over onto an off ramp and we listened to the concert. We had tears in our eyes as the last notes of "Comfortably Numb" faded. We were also lucky enough to see the Pulse concert in Indy. My favorite band.

I purchased my first Pink Floyd album (yup a real album) when I was in my first year of university. I bought more. I'm 75 now. And they are still an amazing sound. Will never get tired of listening to them. We were spoiled with so, so much phenominal music in the day.

25 years since Roger and the other 3 had played together. 11 years since David, Nick and rick had played together. Not only had Roger and the other 3 not played together but they had spent a lot of time in court suing each other, and even more time spitting venom at each other in the press. No one, not one Pink Floyd fan in existence had any hope that they'd ever play together again. 25 years, and in the first 3 notes.... there it was. There was the sound that had been dormant for decades. I won't say that any of the versions they played this night were the best they'd ever done it. Pretty middle of the road, tbh. But for people who hadn't played together in decades it was a remarkable, emotional display. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried like a baby. Alright, maybe a little ashamed. But I'd waited a long, long time.

I find this last true Floyd concert to be better than the band that carried on without Roger, or the band Roger put together, for that matter.

Polo-man. Don't let traffic stop you from the live Rock experience! I'm in LA and despise traffic and parking. Here's what I do when I'm forced to drive to a big show: 1. Make sure your afternoon and following mornings are clear. 2. A couple hours before doors open, Drive to a spot with about a 20 minute walk to the venue. (Avoiding all traffic) 3. Take a nice 20 minute walk to the venue (or a nearby restaurant/bar/park etc) 4. If you can't/don't wanna walk, grab a cheap uber/cab. 5. Get to the venue early and people watch 6. Melt your mind with the power of live communal rocknroll. 7. Take your time leaving, you're in no rush. 8. Wave at everybody in line to exit the parking lot as you head straight to the street. 9. Walk a safe distance from the venue to get a cab/car service - OR with all the rocknroll energy - just walk back to your car. 10. Drive home without ever having to sit thru concert traffic.

You are so lucky! I saw them in 94 in Vancouver and was absolutely thrilled I got to see them just once, my #1 favorite band! I'm 61 now and always wished I had been born about 10 yrs earlier. I would have hitch hiked to California and stayed there to watch all my amazing bands come into being! I'm still waiting for Polo to get to The Eagles especially Hotel California and the documentary!

I was living in Boston when this concert happened, watching a live feed with the glow from Fenway Park illuminating the night sky. The civility between Gilmour and Waters was short-lived, but thank fuck it happened before Rick died.

I went to a Pink Floyd concert in June 1975 and it is by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. In those days PF would open the show playing songs that had not been released yet, and then play the music from their latest release. At this concert they opened with a couple songs that would later be released on their Animals album (Sheep and Dogs), then Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Have A Cigar from their soon to be released Wish You Were Here album. Finally they played the entire Dark Side Of The Moon from start to finish, and the encore was Echoes from their Meddle album. What a phenomenal concert and show!!!

My band (The Greatest Show On Earth) like the Floyd, recorded on the EMI Harvest label, and we often shared a stage with Pink Floyd - late 60's, early 70's. David Gilmour does something with his Fender Strat. that gives me chills every time I hear his solos. Beyond Thunderdome - as Tina Turner might say!

However, the new generations of music pale in comparison to the artistic ingenuity and soul-filling passion. THANK YOU Polo for bringing this music upon more deaf ears. Gilmour is one of the smoothest Axe players in the music industry and he just has this amazing ability to put you in a trance and even when he is hitting the really high notes it gives me some kind of feeling of weightlessness that is hard to explain but God does it feel good!!!❤❤❤❤

I remember watching this live on TV. This was the highlight of the whole gig. The very next day, Pink Floyd sales grew massively and anything that was over the year on year expected sales was given to the Live 8 charity. That was a hell of a lot of money.

1974 or 75 Milwaukee County Stadium saw Pink Floyd for $12.50. I will never forget it, now I'm 65. Love Pink Floyd!!

Broke my neck in '96, started playing guitar for hand strength. One '64 D28 and an '12 045 later....hand is still weak but now I can play 'em lol. 60 in April and it's a will finds a way thing for the rest of my days I figure.

I didn't know if I wanted to keep living without playing at all, but it's the mindset. it's, without even being spiritual about it, indeed an infinite universe with infinite possibilities. what most people don't know, scientifically speaking, is that infinite is way more than we can imagine. all grains of sand on this earth aren't even close to INfinite. it means all things we could do, we do. "somewhere". and we do it an infinite amount of times in all the slightest variations, failing and succeeding at an infinite amount of tasks. what's also scientifically true and actually a pretty recent trending thing in science, is that time is a fake perception of ours, because we experience in sequence. a light beam is instantly were it's pointed, we see it travel though (light speed). so even though it sounds impossible, apparently all things, this concert, and the day you might as well be the one self of yours that starts playing really well (because one of you has to due to the infinite possibilities) are happening in what we, for lack of a better word, call "now". and another you wouldn't think it's possible to move on from stuff like that, but it seems everything not only is, but must be. all the best, man :) what an inspiring story you have, thanks again :)

When I saw this in 2005 I was almost in tears. Pink Floyd together again. I had seen The Wall in 1980 and was bummed when they broke up. Decades later here they are jammin it up. Dick Parry on saxophone. What these guys did as a team was "Louder Than Words." The last Pink Floyd song. Thanks Polo

I was at this, right down the front in the Golden Circle. What a day. I'd never been a Pink Floyd fan..seemed to be for stoners and older folk. But...that day and still to this day. It was the greatest live music sound I've ever heard. Out of this world.

It was just amazing how the passion of Bob Geldof got this band back together for 20odd minutes of magic. How he did it we just don’t know, but since then Gilmore and Walters are still having their little wars, although they have appeared on each others shows occasionally to confuse the issue somewhat. Very complex, and in the midst of it is their joint love for Syd, their one time leader and songwriter who has always been at the centre of the bands ethos and beating heart.

I was there! So many people were leaving to get the last trains home as the concert was already overrunning by the time Pink Floyd came on... basically meant I could get closer and closer to the front 🙂 Had to make a run for it myself when they had finished, missed the end with Paul McCartney - but super happy I got to see a four piece PF play on stage in my lifetime.

@POLO REACTS welcome aboard the Pink Floyd trip. Hang on,,,, its going to be a ride you will never ever regret. To think of the music they wrote way back and on and on, is so overwhelming to me. They , in my opinion, are the faces you would see if you looked up "Timeless" in the dictionary. Absolutely Timeless!!! If you haven't yet checked out "Learning to Fly" do yourself a huge favour and listen to it!!! It is one of my favourite songs from Pink FLoyd. Such a beautiful song and with David's singing, it takes me away somewhere just not sure where. lol I would say that among the group, David Gilmour has the best voice. Incredible that a band can get into your soul and leave you shedding tears from its beauty.

This was the music we grew up with. Every album competing with the last. Saw them live twice and each one was not a concert it was an event. I feel sorry for today's musicians as they can't overcome the tracks that were laid down years before or even embrace the majesty of creating this sound. Wow!

It was 1976 and my 13 year old self saw a friends sister wearing a Pink Floyd t-shirt. “Who‘s Pink Floyd?” I asked, “step into my room and let me blow your mind” she replied, and proceeded to put Dark Side of the Moon on the turntable.

Traffic jams, yeah, haha. I went to a concert about an hour away from where I live, it took me 3 hours after the concert ended before I could start my car to leave the parking area. Then when I saw Dead and Co. last year I heard stories of it taking people 6+ hours to get into the camping spots. Some missed the first night. But, I still love seeing live music and a bit of traffic is worth it to me.

This is in my top 5 best live performances ever. And it is arguably the most important historically. One thing about this set that makes me smile is when Nick Mason rips off his headset right before the first solo in Comfortably Numb. This happens at 21:30 in your video Polo. Nick was as excited to hear David play as anyone in the crowd. From that point until the end of the song, every time they flash to Nick, he's smiling. He knew then that he would most likely never be on stage with the rest of the guys watching and hearing David play these solos.

Most definitely a rare spectacle to witness Waters and Gilmour on the same stage, in more recent times. I’ve been a Floyd fan since the early ‘80s when “ The Wall “ had really hit it’s stride. But no matter how old these guys are getting, I’ll never grow tired of watching them in concert. And I agree that the studio version of “ Money “ is the more pleasurable version. No band could ever combine the elements of jazz and the blues better than Pink Floyd. Glad you enjoyed the video !

I remember being 19 and staying awake all night to play wish you were here with David. so much about this short set is remarkable and you watching it makes me really happy for some reason. much love from Hamburg in Germany :) edit: 5:30 am, gonna be performing instrumental guitar music in the streets again like every week-day, and two staples are "goodbye, blue sky" and "is there anybody ouy there?" by this great band.

Pink Floyd is my #1 favorite band of all time. In the 90's I had collected every cassette tape I could find of theirs including some bootleg tapes, (tapes made illegally which is so hilarious these days but I was so proud to have them, lol!) They were geniuses, their music so unique and thought provoking, I know every single note, every word! I love their early stuff too especially Obscured by Clouds. I went to tons of concerts in Vancouver BC throughout the 80's and 90's and it was always my dream to see Pink Floyd. I finally saw them in '94, I think it was, and I couldn't believe I got to see them live, it was an incredible show! It was the last concert I ever went to and a perfect ending to that chapter of my life! ❤❤❤❤

Just because they couldn't get along we were robbed at least another Dark Side of the Moon and another Animals album!!! Both David and Rodger wrote wonderful music apart along with Rick wright however when David and Rodger were together for some reason they played off of one another and wrote some of the best music ever recorded!! Wonderful reunion, sad that they couldn't get along!!

Grew up listening to Floyd. And they have a tribute band that actually sounds just like them called PERFECT ALIBI. They are amazing and lovely people. Saw them so many times as a teen and met them many a times. My dad knows one of them 😂 check out perfect alibi man. Love seeing this reunion. Shame it’ll never ever happen again these old gits are crazy lol

Same here, and that idiotic MTV host started talking right in the middle of David's second guitar solo during Comfortably Numb. Needless to say, I was cussing up a storm, calling him every name in the book, and a few that haven't been invented yet. I'll never forget that.

Good review. They hadnt played together for 25 years. Had 1 x 3 hour rehearsal and you got that.....best band on the planet....do Echoes at Gdansk, last ever performance of the song before Richard passed. It will put you in touch with your ancestors.......🙂

I saw Pink Floyd a few times and I remember watching this! All 4 of these guys are/ were immensely talented and the music they made simply took over the hearts and minds of millions!!!
