I feel more secure in a Cupsole and learnt 99% of everything I can do in a pair of dunks but I feel like I increase my board feel and control when i wear my janoski's and their very 90 degree sole's edges at the cost of increased risk on injury of rolling an ankle due to them having a bit less mass and structure. ps nice smith there bro

I keep going back and forth. I've broken my flick foot 4 times in my life now, and what I've determined is that a cupsole has been better support for my foot. As good as vulc's feel, they're just too flimsy for me. I feel a bit safer in a cupsole. For cupsole, I've been skating the etnies marana and the joslin's... and the vulc's have been half cab's. I wish I could get a vulc that that stayed supportive like a cupsole.

I like both, but for different things. I like to see it the same way I do with a board, nose and tail have to be a little different, in angle and length, that way depending on what I want to do, I use the one that helps the most. Though at my age I don’t jump off too many high things anymore, so vulcs feel nicer, but if I don’t skate them for a long period, the soul tends to separate easier from the shoe, because of the aged glue.

Can you do a video on carefully "Super/CA glueing" stitches on brand new skate shoes. makes them last insanely longer, plastifies the stiches and keeps all layers bonded when the outer stich wares away. would be great for many beginners and could maybe help people out a little in the current economy. ✌

Cupsoles for me, they last way longer, and have better impact protection out the box. No FP insoles needed. Dope skating in this video, that smith at the start was hella tight!

I was really interested in point about how the way the sole gripped concrete. I'm breaking in a pair of Joslin michelin vulcs that I was enjoying a lot. I take off work Wednesday and drive out to a park that was redone a few months ago . I'm starting to fiqure out the bowl, me and like 3 other people having a great time. I drop into a 3 foot section with a 3 foot waterfall maybe 10 feet away from the coping, shit goes sideways and I snap my tibia in half. If you were to ask me what went wrong, I really don't have an answer other than my rear foot got in front of my ankle, shoe gripped hard and all my weight came straight down and snapped my ankle in half .Something to think about for the next 3 months. Summer bummer.

I'm skating cupsoles again. Currently skating the eS swift 1.5s. I feel like I can skate longer sessions in cupsoles as opposed to skating vulcs.

Vulc shoes. I'm over 40 and when you get older you'll notice your foot gets wider. Eventually shoes need to be wide to avoid bunions. I even take a razor blade to my new shoes to loosen them up even more. Once my pinky toes is exposed and bleeding, my shoes are good to go. A pair will only last me a month anyway. Cupsoles will crush my feet and squish my big toes which will form bunions. Which are the worst. Side note: I always throw away the insoles the shoes comes with and insert my FP insoles. I ride a single pair FP insoles for about 3 years. This way breaking in new shoes is minimized by a large margin.
