Take one last ride on Jaws at Universal Orlando before it closes forever! Filmed by Robb Alvey in January 2012 - www.themeparkreview.com #jaws #amusementpark #themepark
The guys filming the video had the best energy and really complimented the actors show so well, genuinely made me smile cus I remember this ride from a kid, I hope it come back
For all who miss this ride or are discovering it now on youtube and never made it, Universal studios Japan has a almost identical Jaws ride to what was Jaws Universal Orlando still going even now in 2023. I went last year and it brought back the memories when I used to go to Orlando before they tore it down. Very unique to hear the boat Captains do their parts in Japanese. Was absolutely awesome
I'm guessing he's not actually steering it- but he does such a good job that makes it look like his is. And yeah absolutely fantastic acting. It's so well syced with the set pieces.
Give Skipper Jacob a raise!! He sold the hell out of that ride 😂 terrified me as a kid but makes me laugh watching it now. Good memories at Universal Orlando
I actually watched this when I was younger. I did end up getting to ride it, but it was in Japan.' The Skipper Lady was great! Too bad I only understood about half of what she was saying! Luckily I remembered the gust of it from these videos. Im glad I got to live my dream.
This ride was legendary. Sucks they had to take it out. But I understand by keeping a ride like this maintain for 30 years is a constant nightmare. I'm glad I got my last ride in 2011.
I love how into these guys are. Especially that tour guide, he's great. Love how he acts and I love how he talks to the people on the ride, as if it was an actual ride and not just a ride at an amusement park. He takes this seriously and had fun with it, instead of speaking the lines like some people would have. I love it.
It totally sounds like a voice over. I wouldn't be surprised if they recorded the voice beforehand and made him mouth the words every time because it sounds too good.
+Mia Bolcato One time, At Disney World, there was an actor at the Jungle Cruise, he was funny as heck. He said, "INDIANS! DUCK!" and literally NOBODY ducked. Then he said, "You're not gonna listen to me? Fine, fine." And when we were getting out of the ride, he said, "Don't you dare cross my crates. You wouldn't like it if I came over to your house and crossed your crates, would you?"
An enthusiastic actor over the boat who could not have been selected for movies but joined this job Anyways hope these people are alive and got themselves safe by these studio's network
Why are people saying its fake? Its a ride not a aquarium. What do people want real live sharks in the water? Or fake cgi shit. I've been on this ride its was fun.
i’m so confused why are the comments so recent and why are half of them stupid questions like “is the shark real?” it’s universal. it’s the damn JAWS ride. of course it’s fake.
To answer your first question, it's because the uploader set the comments to be sorted by newest first by default. Just click the filter button in the top right above the comment section and click "Top Comments"
when i was younger i always thought this was real and everytime i went on the ride i clung onto my dad for dear life and was terrified. I wish they didn’t close so i could appreciate it without being scared, i miss it.
Can anyone describe to me what the training for this is like? This guy does such a fantastic job bringing this experience to life for the riders and he has so many cues to keep track of like “controlling” the direction of the boat with the wheel, syncing up the shots in the water from the gun with his aim, remembering the script so he can accurately and properly respond to his team members “communicating” with him (I assume this is just pre-recorded audio) like this is a lot of stuff to be keeping track of and he has to be at a constant level of high energy. What I’m imagining is that you would likely first sit in on the ride a few times with someone who already has experience and has lead the attraction many times before. Then they would take you on a few laps around the full attraction without guests so you would get the hang of all the cues until you were comfortable and then finally when you were ready you would become an official skipper for the ride?
That is his real voice, my uncle use to work on the maintenance on this ride and when we went on it he knew all the lines and would say them with the boat operator.
Boats have to be on a track. There's no feedback in the wheel, he just spins it here and there and doesn't pay attention like a real boat driver would do. It would be mayhem to have loose boats moving around out there with all the choreographed shark robots and incendiaries.
I rode on this masterpiece for the first time in the summer of 94 and the for the last time in fall of 02. It’s sad that I cannot share this with my children now in 2024.
It had to have made the skipper feel so much better about his job with that particular crew of people making it into like a real scene. That's just awesome. 👏🏻
I absolutely love this. This guy works all day doing the same routine and it probably gets tiring but the crowd he had probably made his day. They were all there just having a great time.
I went on this when I was 5 years old, and Mannnnnnn I cried the entire time 😅 I thought everything was real and couldnt understand why they would allow such a scary ride in the happiest place in the world
@@jromanillos well yeah, I had no prior experience with anything like it. And no one told me it was a fake gun and an animatronic shark. I was confused at how everyone was enjoying themselves when our boat was under attack. I was also on the starboard side, where most of the shark encounters took place.
I always dreamed of riding this when I was 5 and then I heard of it closing down and felt so heartbroken, I watch this video and it helps, thank you TPR
I loved this ride, I miss it. I can't belive they closed a CLASSIC. Even though the sharks are FAKE and alot of people dont understand this is for FUN to get WET and ENJOY the ride. It was alot of fun in the end.
Captain Jake gave it his all! His movements were so fluid but also full of energy, he worked the crew well, and his timing is impeccable! This ride was just as awesome as I remember it was as a kid. So sad that it's gone.
Jacob was giving this last ride his all! I've compared most Jaws ride videos and this guy definetly has the most energy. I think all the excited last riders helped. You can just tell they are having so much fun.
When I was a little kid I would watch videos of the ride all the time and always wanted to get on it, by the time I made it to universal I missed the ride by about a year! Tough luck
I remember being deathly afraid if this ride as a kid but liked watching the video regardless. every time I would watch it I would end up bawling my eyes out and go for days without bathing out of fear that a really poorly designed shark would get me.
There is going to be a mark that you will need to do the things like to buy food or to sell things but I want to tell you that do not do it. It may seem it is wroth it but if you take that mark you will go to hell and then there is no change if you take that mark. And also the people that want you to take it they will say stuff like if you take this mark you will for ever but if you take that mark you may live a little longer on earth but you will go to hell for ever and ever but if you stay with God and be faithful to him you will go to haven because. 1 you must accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. 2 Roman’s 10 nine if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart and believe that God raise him from the dead you will be saved and if you don’t accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and live a life for him you will not go to heaven you will go to hell and you will be there for ever and if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and live a life for him you will go to heaven for forever and Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life no one gets to the father except through him✝️❤️✝️❤😊
Nicholas Ang We may never know the real truth. Was he paid off to perform one time? A method actor living the role for all? We investigate and find the real story behind the infamous RU-vid video, on season two of Serial. I'm not Sarah Koenig *plays groovy mood musix*
I know this ride was getting outdated, but it was my favorite ride at Universal when I was a kid. I miss it a lot! With all the VR simulations and Harry Potter, Universal is just starting to... not feel like Universal anymore :-\
Going through my mom's old laptop with photos and videos and saw my little brother probably four watching this. The only words I could make from the video were Universal Studios Orlando For TPR and stumbled upon this video and yep, it's the one because he loved Jaws! I'm not very old to say this, but, I feel old lol
People calling this fake, its obviously fake its a ride and you gotta respect the OG jaws ride at Universal, these kids don't understand the history of it. Gonna miss this ride o7
True Story : My family saved up after many years go to Florida. It was the summer right after graduated high school and I was so excited to ride on the jaws ride since I'm obessed with the movie. When I got the park I saw the ride was closed cause "the shark is sick" I asked a worker when the ride would be working again and I found out I got there the day after the ride closed for good.
Rumors say that jaws the ride is making a return in universals new park that they announced recently... as well as Back to the Future, Earthquake, and other rides that were closed to be replaced... So there's a chance you'll still get to ride Jaws:)
